Supervised by Mandalay Region \nGovernment, Myanmar well-wishers and Thailand\u2019s Dhammakaya Foundation \njointly organized third mass alms-giving for 30,000 monks at the \nChanmyathazi Airport in Mandalay yesterday.
\nPresent at the event were Union Ministers Dr Myo Thein Gyi and Nai Thet \nLwin, Deputy Minister U Kyi Min, Mandalay Region Minister for \nElectricity, Energy and Construction U Zarni Aung on behalf of Mandalay \nRegion Chief Minister, Mandalay Region Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Kyaw Oo \nand cabinet members, Hluttaw representatives, departmental officers, \nconsuls general of the People\u2019s Republic of China and the Republic of \nIndia, invited guests, social organizations, donors from Thailand and \nwell-wishers.
\nMandalay Region Minister U Zarni Aung and Deputy Minister U Kyi Min \nlighted candles, and representatives from Myanmar and Thailand offering \nflowers, the alms-giving ceremony was opened with the three-time \nrecitation of Namo tassa bhagavato arahato samma sambuddhassa\u201d .
\nThat was followed by the congregation receiving the Five Precepts from \nthe State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaw Thanlyin Min \nKyaung Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Candima Bhivumsa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afterwards, the audio message sent by \nLuang Por Dhammajayo, the patron of Dhammakaya Monastery in Thailand, \nwas played and Members of Sangha recited parittas.
\nSix donors from Thailand led the recitation of offering the Four Requisites and donated offertories to the monks.
\nSupplicating the Members of Sangha at the event, patron of the \nalms-giving organizing committee Mandalay Region minister for \nElectricity, Energy and Construction U Zarni Aung on behalf of Mandalay \nRegion Chief Minster expressed delights for getting opportunity for \ndoing merits by peoples of Myanmar and Thailand.
\nDeputy Minister U Kyi Min supplicated religious matters, Thai donors \nexpressed delights and followed by U Soe Lin, the chairman of the \nalms-giving event organizing committee, saying words of thanks.
\nThe congregation listened to the sermon given by Mogok Nyaung Thone Bin \nPariyatti Thamanaykyaw Monastery Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Tejosara Bhivamsa \nand shared merits they gained.
\nThe ceremony concluded after reciting Buddha Sasanam Ciram Titthatu\u201d three times.
\nThe officials, donors and well-wishers led by Union Ministers Dr Myo \nThein Gyi and Nai Thet Lwin donated K 30,000 each monk and offertories \nto the Members of Sangha.
\nFoods and soft drinks for congregation were also donated by well-wishers\n at the event. The first Myanmar-Thai friendship alms-giving ceremony \nwas held for 10,000 monks on 20 September 2015 at the foot of the \nMandalay Hill and the second was held for 20,000 monks on 21 January \n2018 at the Chanmyathasi Airport.
