{"id":97180,"date":"2020-01-01T17:21:11","date_gmt":"2020-01-02T00:21:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/?p=97180"},"modified":"2020-01-01T17:21:11","modified_gmt":"2020-01-02T00:21:11","slug":"sri-lankan-nataional-anthem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/2020\/01\/01\/sri-lankan-nataional-anthem\/","title":{"rendered":"Sri Lankan Nataional Anthem"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>RANJITH SOYSA<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>It is\nreported that the DMK, Tamil Nadu&#8217;s major Opposition Party and it&#8217;s BJP alley,\nTHE PMK have expressed their opposition to Sri Lankan government&#8217;s opinion that\nit is not necessary to sing the Sri Lankan national anthem in Tamil at the\nforthcoming Independence Day celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While we\nreject the view point of the Tamil Nadu&#8217;s racist politicians interference in a\nSri Lankan &nbsp;domestic issue. which the Sri\nLankan Government &nbsp;has the capability of\nexamining in detail and taking their own decisions for the benefit of the\ncountry. We have to reiterate that by making various strident noises concerning\nSri Lankan Tamils the Indian politicians are attempting in vain to prove that they\nare the saviors of Sri Lankan Tamils which places the Sri Lankan Tamils in an\nawkward &nbsp;position in relation to Sri\nLankan nation state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With regard\nto the Sri Lankan Nataional Anthem, it was the blunder made by the previous\nGovernment which&nbsp; allowed a translated song to be accepted as a national\nanthem in Tamil whereas the country should have a single National Anthem, The\ntranslated Tamil national anthem has number of words which are different to the\noriginal including the term,&nbsp; &#8220;Sri Lanka Matha&#8217; The action should be\ntaken urgently to rectify this aspect and replace the original song, The\nnational anthem can be&nbsp; written in Tamil ,but it should not be a\ntranslation. The government must get its teeth to this issue urgently without\nany delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the\nTamil Nadu racists politicians we request them to look after their back yard by\nrequesting or demanding the Central Government of India to get them the\napproval to sing a translated Indian Anthem in Tamil.
