{"id":98501,"date":"2020-02-01T14:26:17","date_gmt":"2020-02-01T21:26:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/?p=98501"},"modified":"2020-02-01T14:26:17","modified_gmt":"2020-02-01T21:26:17","slug":"chinese-coronavirus-patient-at-idh-recovered-completely-dr-jasinghe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/2020\/02\/01\/chinese-coronavirus-patient-at-idh-recovered-completely-dr-jasinghe\/","title":{"rendered":"Chinese coronavirus patient at IDH recovered completely &#8211; Dr. Jasinghe"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Courtesy Ada Derana<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The female Chinese national, the first patient who was tested positive for 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in Sri Lanka, has recovered completely, says the Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing a media briefing held today (01), Dr. Jasinghe added that the Chinese woman in question, who was admitted to the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), can be discharged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sixteen patients who are suspected to have been contaminated with the novel coronavirus are currently receiving treatment at the IDH, he said further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The first confirmed case of novel coronavirus was reported in Sri Lanka on the 27th of January as a female Chinese national was diagnosed with the deadly virus, which rapidly spread across many countries just within days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 47-year old Chinese woman from Hubei Province in China was admitted to the IDH in critical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The woman had arrived as a tourist with another group of travelers and had been screened at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for having a high fever.
