Reading the draft MCC Agreement, America\u2019s plan for Sri Lanka is clearly evident; their plan is to take-over Sri Lanka\u2019s Land and subjugate the Island Nation to the US by replacing, Sri Lanka\u2019s Parliament, Sri Lanka\u2019s Administration and Sri Lanka\u2019s Judiciary (in all matters and in all geographical locations connected with the American project) with a MCC-Parliament, a MCC-Judiciary and a MCC-Administration. (See Annex 1, page 34 of the draft MCC Agreement).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0The initial American Landgrab of Sri Lanka\u2019s territory begins with the 2-Million Acre Corridor from TCO to CBO, the two Ports in TCO and CBO and all land covered by the proposed Japanese Monorail transport system, the latter under the MCC transport component.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The TCO-CBO\nCorridor coveted by the Americans is replete with minerals and other resources.\nFurthermore, the area is a treasure trove of Sri Lanka\u2019s rich cultural\nheritage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The draft MCC\nAgreement has not included a Cultural map of the land, in the US desired\nCorridor, that would reflect the precious history and heritage of our country\nwhich would be lost forever if the Agreement is signed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Not included\neither in the draft MCC Agreement is a detailed economic map of the US\n\u2018focus-of-interest\u2019 Corridor, indicating the values, the quantities, the\nqualities, the depths and extents of the diverse resources and minerals found\ntherein. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 And gallingly,\nthere is no environmental report on, how these minerals and resources should be\nextracted, what impact the extraction of such minerals and resources would have\non the environment .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Is there a\nbusiness plan on how the wealth from the minerals and other resources would be\nshared?    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 If the draft\nMCC Agreement is signed, brought before Parliament and, in Parliament, a 2\/3\nmajority obtained in favour of the draft Agreement, the Government would invoke\nArticle 157 of the Constitution. From that point on, the MCC Agreement cannot\nbe retracted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Article 157\nlurks insignificantly, but menacingly, in the Constitution. It permits the\nconditions laid out in an Agreement – such as the draft MCC Agreement – to have\nthe full force of the law once a resolution is appropriately passed in\nParliament. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Article 157 of\nthe Constitution arguably allows the Constitution to be changed without getting\nthe people\u2019s mandate at a referendum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Gotabaya\u2019s waffly conduct continues to worry about the people of Sri Lanka. Is this one of the prime reasons why Gotabaya is asking for a 2\/3rd majority in Parliament so that he can obviate the need to go before the people and get their mandate if the Agreement is signed? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The Americans\nappear to be jubilant at the way the Country is slithering forward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0In the run-up to the Presidential Election, Gotabaya posed off as the champion of the anti-MCC Movement. But his subsequent conduct, after being elected, suggests that he had deliberately hoodwinked the 5.9 Million people who voted for him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Gotabaya\nappears to be suffering from a, \u2018To-Hell-with-The-People\u2019 syndrome, a common\npost-election condition that affects politicians across the board; his mind is\nnow fogged. He does not know whether the MCC is inimical to the interest of the\nCountry or not. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 In a sneaky\nmove, Gotabaya has attempted to shy away from his responsibility by setting up,\non 20 Dec 19, a committee of four to decide on the merits and demerits of the\ndraft MCC Agreement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The Committee\nis headed by Gunaruwan from the pen of Western Economics; he is no stranger to\nthe Pathfinder Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Gotabaya should\nhave known better; he cannot delegate responsibility. Indeed, when he went to\nbattle on 16 Nov 19 and championed the anti-MCC cause on behalf of the Sri\nLankan people, the people justifiably imagined that he had studied the\nbattlefield thoroughly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Gunaruwan and\nhis committee will be submitting their report only after the General Elections,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 But, by reading\njust annex 1 (page 34) of the draft MCC Agreement, not to speak of the other\nsections of the Agreement laden with more sell-out clauses, it is glaringly\nobvious to even the \u2018not-so-erudite\u2019 that the draft MCC Agreement is a total\nsell-out of Sri Lanka\u2019s sovereignty to the Americans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 It does not\ntake 10 minutes to read, understand and digest annex 1 (Page 34) of the draft\nMCC Agreement to perceive the danger to the Country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 This Study\nCircle exhorts the Committee to issue an interim report immediately, to warn\nthe Government against signing the draft MCC Agreement<\/strong> and, to make the\ncontents of that interim report available to the People. The main report can\nfollow, as was previously instructed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 It needs no\nemphasis that the Committee functions with the largesse of the people\u2019s money\nand it is their country that is under attack, due to a secret deal made by the\npoliticians and the Americans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 This is the\nopportunity for the Committee to take their stand and save our Motherland; the\npeople stand solidly behind you just as much as they would with the Survey\nDepartment which has been tasked unfairly by the Americans to accelerate the\nsurvey of the TCO-CBO Corridor in order to accelerate the issue of a million\nLand Grants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Without\nappropriate survey maps, the million Land Grants cannot be issued and without\nLand Grants, the MCC is stymied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 This is the\nopportunity for the committee of four to underline their integrity and have\ntheir names written in Gold in the pages of Sri Lanka\u2019s history for saving Sri\nLanka. They and their families will be revered by all Sri Lankans and the\nunborn generations to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The cost of\nconducting a Presidential Election is heavy and this burden is borne by the\npeople of this country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 If the\npresumption given afore, about Gotabaya posing off as a Champion in the anti\nMCC campaign and his subsequent selective amnesia is accurate, Gotabaya has\ndeliberately misled the people; his (and his team\u2019s) dishonesty about a crucial\nissue affecting the future of the Country has made the Election meaningless and\nhe has thereby subverted democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Going on the\nsame presumption re Gotabaya\u2019s conduct, as far as the people are concerned, the\nmoney expended on the Election has been spent on a meaningless exercise, made\nmeaningless by Gotabaya and his teams\u2019 seemingly dishonest disposition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The people\nopine that Gotabaya and his team in such a scenario should account to the\npeople for this colossal waste of their money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 We, in this\nstudy circle, hope and pray that our presumptions are inaccurate <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Some people are\nposing the question today. Is Gotabaya a Crypto-American?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Gotabaya,\nalbeit a good Administrator, is politically na\u00efve; his naivete has been\nfrequently exposed when making Reagan-like public utterances.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 A classic gaffe\nis about Sri Lanka being a Neutral country when the Country\u2019s committed policy,\nas a founding member of the Movement, is one of Non-Alignment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u2018Neutrality\u2019\nmay be his personal opinion perhaps; but the people do not give a toss for his\npersonal opinion. He is the people\u2019s representative and he must be mindful of\nthe people\u2019s opinion. He has not been empowered by the people to change a\nCountry\u2019s Foreign Policy according to his whims and fancies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Or was that\nremark made on the advice of his mercenary American-advisors whom Gotabaya has\nsurrounded himself with? It appears that the \u2018Pathfinder\u2019 Foundation is   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

educating Gotabaya on\nthe rudiments of Foreign Policy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 As a\npolitician, Gotabaya does not have a vote base to speak of; he came to power on\nthe shoulders of Mahinda Rajapakse, a charismatic personality who has a genuine\nfeel for his Motherland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 People recall\nwith pride how Mahinda handled Miliband, Kouchner and Blake during the critical\nstages of the terrorist war.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Mahinda is a\nhero in the eyes of the Sri Lankan people; a part of that shine rubbed off on\nGotabaya, because of his good Administration, during the war against Eelam\nterrorism. The Rajapakse name is consequently etched in the hearts of Sri\nLanka\u2019s rural families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 But from hero\nto zero is but a step away. One act of treachery, like Gotabaya signing the\ndraft MCC Agreement and surrendering the Country to the Americans, would tar\nall Rajapakses with the same brush; it would drag the Rajapakse name from its\nrevered pedestal into the dust bin of Sri Lanka\u2019s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
