Tiger suicide bombers captured at an eastern province police checkpoint
Three LTTE suicide bombers hiding in Colombo city were captured by police on information given
by another Tiger terrorist taken into custody at Siyambalanduwa, an eastern region police checkpoint
last Thursday, police said.
This Tiger suspect, Joseph Christie had in his possession powerful explosives weighing about 10
kilos hidden in different places in the motorcycle he had been riding at the time of his arrest from Porathivu in Batticaloa (Eastern province)
On interrogation the Tiger suspect had revealed that these explosives were meant to be handed
over to an accomplice residing in Sea Street, Colombo. (The Island-25/03/98)
