Hi Friends,

Terrible news from Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka is by far the worst affected
country in the region from this disaster (tsunami/ earth quake).

I just made few calls to the affected areas: It seems that at least 3,000
people are dead (probably more, as so many are unaccounted for) and
estimated over 1.5 million people in Sri Lanka are affected by this massive
tsunami/earth quake which happened ~9.45 AM (Sunday in Sri Lankan time).

Let's do something quickly and send relief assistance to those who need it. The most badly affected area seems to be the in the Gall District (Unawatuna
and southwards from there). An entire marketplace full of people shopping
has washed out to the sea. The area is devastated.

Executive council and the members of the I-FREED and other organizations:
Please start to work on this immediately to arrange relief to those who need
it at this moment.

Sri Lankan community in general: By “individually” or via your own
“organization”, please help those people in need as quickly as possible.
