These gentlemen braggers from HRW, should be sent to Iraq, as we have no use of them here. They neither help the civilians nor the government.

By Charles S. Perera

The SLMM, HRW should be asked to leave Sri Lanka. They help neither the human rights of the people nor the government to go ahead with its programme of elimination of terrorism from Sri Lanka. SLMM is of no avail as the terrorists do not respect law and order and they have openly declared that they are not ready to negotiate with the Sinhala Government.

They have shown without a semblance of a doubt that they are not for peace and they follow unmoved their path of destruction. It is no use asking the government to stop retaliation as that remains the only means to check the terrorists vermin continue unabashed their deliberately set plan to obtain their only objective of Eelam.

HRW has no further function to perform in Sri Lanka if they are bent on setting up another monitoring mission providing occupations to another set of Europeans and Americans to live a glorious life sitting comfortably in cosy chairs in posh offices to dictate terms to the government, and aid and abet the terrorists in their vouched occupation of spilling innocent blood.

HRW would be of some use if they can shut up about telling the government what it should do and tell Prabhakaran and his cohorts to stop their rampant escapades, and lay down arms, to enable the government to stop retaliatory attacks, and instead start talking to them.

What would it serve setting up a human rights mission, they will again be helping the terrorists, moment our backs are turned . That is what the UNICEF had been doing for the last so many years. They cannot deny it because it is none other than Dr;Kingsley Heendeniya who had been working for the IRC that had divulged their secret as far back as in the eighties.

HRW apparently urges sitting in clover that both sides should take strong measures to protect civilians, while the terrorists come to Colombo and set up bombs and human bombs deliberately to kill civilians. It is to them the HRW should address and no to the government.

If the civilians are killed in the governments retaliatory actions against the terrorists, it does not mean the Security Forces deliberately massacre the civilians like the terrorist do in Colombo. These HRW spokesmen may be stupid or deliberately ignore the terrorists setting up terror to make strictures to the government of Sri Lanka.

They should be sent packing to Iraq or Afghanistan to give strictures to the American Armed Forces to observe safeguards to protect the civilians. There the civilians die in great numbers. But these gentlemen braggers of HRW dare not go their because one thing their lives would not be safe, and second living conditions would not be as posh as they are here in Sri Lanka.

HRW need not tell us that the military offensive is no solution for the ethnic problem. The Government knows that, that is why it keeps on asking the vermin terrorist to lay down arms before negotiation for peace. HRW cannot surely expect the government to take the guns and the soldiers in to the army camps, and wait until the terrorists decide to stop fighting and come to talks…..!!! Has the HRW got a fool proof guarantee from the terrorists that, if the government were to stop fighting first, they would do like wise ?
