TAMIL TIGERS KILL SIX SINHALESE CIVILIANS CONSTRUCTING TSUNAMI HOUSES IN ERAVUR AND TWO TAMILS IN VAVUNIYA

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) gunmen in execution style shot dead six Sinhalese construction workers who were engaged in building a Tsunami Housing Scheme which was being built for orphaned Tamil children in the island nation’s restive Eastern Province.

The Media Center for national security told reporters eight ethnically Sinhalese were ordered out of their construction site by LTTE gunmen at 9.15 p.m. from their temporary quarters in the construction site and shot at in execution style.

This is the second incident of terrorist acts reported against the LTTE after they allegedly shot dead five Tamil Nadu fishermen just to strain relations between Sri Lanka and India, according to Indian navy sources.

Police sources in Batticaloa said six Sinhalese ethnic construction workers were killed immediately after the shooting and two more were admitted to the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital for treatment in a very critical condition.

The victims were working in a Tsunami Housing Scheme named Village of Hope being built for ethnic Tami children at Mailambaveli in Eravur.

The LTTE gunmen, on the same day allegedly shot at two Tamil ethnic civilians near Vavuniya because they belonged to a political party opposed to their proxy political group Tamil National Alliance. The two males shot at Kirunawukulam was admitted to the Vavuniya Hospital with gunshot injuries but later succumbed to their injuries.

Police sources said after losing the Eastern Province the LTTE gun men are increasingly going after civilians to commit their terrorist acts against.
