If convicted all three of them who are Sinhalese could be given the punishment of death.
In Colombo last year the major suicide bomb attack occurred when suspected Tamil Tiger suicide bomber targeted the country’s top military Commander LT.General Sarath Fonseka in side the fortified army head quarters.

Fonseka was injured but 11 army guards died in the attempt. In June the third higest military Commander General Parami Kulatunga was killed by a suspected LTTE suicide bomber. In December the Defense Secretary,Gotabhaya Rajapksa was targeted .While he escaped without being hurt two of his guards died.

All these attacks were aimed while those officials were traveling in motorcades enabling investigators to speculate that the information of their movements were being passed on to the enemy.
Before these official announcements about the arrests and the trial newspapers published that the corrupt officials had passed information for money and they were having big bank accounts and leading lavish lives.
