BRITISH IMPERIALISTS SHOULD STOP THINKING THAT SRI LANKA IS STILL ITS COLONY

A.A.M.NIZAM MATARA.

While the local Tuppahi clan, engineered by the Junk-UNP with the blessings of the terrorist outfit and NGO vultures, and waylaid by astrological, are doing all and every covert and overt niggardly things to demoralise and divide our gallant forces, enforce economic hardships on the masses, destabilize and overthrow the government with the prime motive of stopping the military exercises against the enemy bandits, the double-tongued imperialist boss Britain has announced a series of measures to undermine Sri Lanka, embolden the terrorists and interfere in the internal affairs of our country.

It seems that these plunderers and mass murderers who brutally destroyed the religions, cultures and indigenous development of Asian, African and Middle Eastern countries still believe that Sri Lanka is one of its colonies or outposts. All patriotic masses should unite and vehemently protest against these subversive and inimical measures of the bloody double-tongued British interlopers who are partly responsible for Sri Lanka’s agony and sufferings for the last several decades.

Subsequent to the series of 7th July bomb blasts in London Britain toughened its condemnation of terrorism and the British Prime Minister Tony Blair threatened tough actions against those who even unknowingly assisted terrorism, anywhere and everywhere. The Home Secretary Charles Clarke followed this declaration by announcing what they called “harsh measures against terrorism and terrorists” which included deportation of those who justify or glorify terrorism anywhere and refusing asylum to those with any kind of links with terrorists and terrorism.

Although local Thuppahis worship these miscreants and rogues as symbols of truth, sincerity, honesty and perfection describing various things as “Sudda Wage” it did not take much time to prove the duplicity, absurdity and hollowness of their anti-terrorist slogans. When it was demanded by patriotic masses to implement the new rules against Anton Balasingham, the British High Commission in Colombo declared that he has not violated any British Law and continued to provide him all impunity to operate blatantly contravening Britain’s so-called anti-terrorist laws until his death. These acts included coordination of terrorist fund raising and propaganda activities in European and western countries, attending conferences and negotiations as the chief LTTE representative, releasing and launching of terrorist publications in Europe and elsewhere including the launching of his own book “War and Peace” in the very British soil.

Surveys carried out by social scientists have found that Tamils who settled in Britain after the 1983 progrom have become a significant sector in the British polity, providing cheap labour for minor jobs which the ordinary Britons baulk at, and a major vote bank in several Boroughs, and for local politicians including several labour MPs and Ministers. In the local government elections held in Britain last May, the terrorist outfit fielded several candidates who promised a Mini Eelam in Ldondon.. There were nearly 20 candidates sponsored by the terrorist outfit and many of them were active foreign workers of the terrorist gang.

Six such candidates contested for Wards in the borough of Harrow. In their joint election pledge published in the LTTE front paper “Oru” they promised a sport ground exclusively for Tamils, a social centre for Tamil senior citizens, organize more lobbying to demonstrate what they called the Tamil plight in the North and East of Sri Lanka, and organize trips for British MPs and Councillors to visit Sri Lanka’s North and East with the objective of getting their assistance for their cause.

The British High Commissioner in Colombo Mr. Dominic John Chilcott has become the key representative of this British Tamil terrorist lobby in Sri Lanka. He has taken over the role played by the despicable Dixit in the eighties who in the background of India’s parippu invasion (diplomacy) high-handedly compelled the Sri Lankan government to make military, political and economic reverses to suit Indian hegemonic objectives. Abandoning Wadamarachchi operations, imposition of the white elephant provincial council system, merging of Northern and Eastern provinces were some of the glaring dictates imposed by Dixit.

Dominick Chilcott seems to be taking the contemptible route taken by Dixit with a bloated mind, with high intensity, and in a malicious manner. He has interfered and commented on Sri Lankan affairs that are not compatible for a foreign diplomat. In a newspaper interview with the Tamil Daily Weerakesaran last year he demanded that the government should move forward for a political settlement based on the Oslo Declaration and on federal lines. He said that the United State and India support this position. In the same interview he also justified allowing Balasingham to remain in Britain. On another occasion addressing a forum called humanitarian forum in Colombo he said that it would be a serious miscalculation to believe that the country’s problem could be solved militarily. He advocated for cessation of military operations and to commence negotiations unconditionally.

Recently Chilcott totally overstepped his diplomatic impunity and visited a local newspaper office to express solidarity with the Editor of the newspaper indirectly warning about British concern on lack of newspaper freedom in Sri Lanka and allege the government was violating media freedom, perhaps thinking that Sri Lanka is still a British colony and Sri Lanka is bound to kneel down for his dictates. Akin to what was done by Dixit this Geri Sudda is preparing and strengthening the ground for British imperlialists to dictate terms to the Sri Lankan government in a bid to help and save the terrorists from total annihilation.

It was in this background that British parliamentarians who depend on the Tamil votes have formed a caucus called “All-party group for Tamils” with the stated aim of “promoting peace with justice and dignity for the Tamils in Sri Lanka.”, a rogue group to interfere in Sri Lanka’s internal affairs. The terrorist media and the shameless servile media have given foremost publicity with much acclamation for the formation of this group, speeches made by members of this proxy group at a parliamentary debate that followed, and the demand made by these pro-terrorist MPs to lift the ban on the terrorist outfit, their calling for cessation of military operations and their demand to commence negotiations immediately with the participation of Britain and Norway.

Complimentary to these activities the British government has also suspended aid payments to Sri Lanka. British High Commission in Colombo says Britain is withholding financial assistance to Sri Lanka until the government meets "agreed human rights and defence spending conditions."

Sri Lanka is a free, sovereign State with a democratically constituted government and not a colony or outpost of western imperialists or India. The government is not obliged to budge in to the dictates of any country trying to impose directives merely to satisfy Tamil groups in such countries with the interest of securing the votes of such groups for their own existence. No country has the right to make Sri Lanka a scapegoat to overcome their internal frailties.

If the British movers are not defeated in its current nascent stage other countries too could launch similar moves merely to satisfy their local vote banks. The Government should stand firm against the moves of these international bandits to restrain the successful march of our gallant forces. Thee government should without any hesitation reject the proposed visit of the British Bandit MPs. Who are these puppets to investigate matters in our country? All patriotic masses should vehemently condemn these sinister moves and rise in solidarity to defeat these evil forces.
