Letter to All Party British Parliamentary Tamil Group

Asoka Weerasinghe Ottawa, Canada

November 11, 2007

Mr. Keith Vaz, MP
Chairman
All Party British Parliamentary Tamil Group House of Commons London SW1A0AA UK

Dear Mr. Keith Vaz:

Re: British MPs condemn killing of Tamil leader Mr. S.P. Thamilchelvan

Your group’s news release on the death of S.P.Thamilchelvan, the leader of the Tamil Tiger Political Wing, who unfortunately was at the wrong place at the wrong time when the bomb was dropped from an airforce plane, get’s an ‘A’ from me for your unfettered dedication to serve the cause of the Tamil Tiger tribal separatism. But you certainly get a ‘Z’ for your analysis and understanding of Thamilchelvan who you all have described as a “moderate Tamil Leader Mr. S.P. Thamilchelvan,” and a Dove of Peace.

His plastered Colgate-smile has foxed your logic missing the very basics of Tamil Tiger terrorism …they kill the innocent peasant farmers, fisher-folk, including their pregnant wives, mothers, children and infants, who have absolutely nothing to do and far removed from this ethnic strife. The Thamilchelvan brand of Tamil Tiger terrorism which believes that it could achieve their goal of a mono-ethnic, racist, Tamil state, Eelam, by plucking infants who felt secure hugging the warmth of their mother’s breasts and splitting their skulls by bashing them on rocks, should be rejected as an uncivilized trait in their racist tribalism.

Thamilchelvan was part of this terrorist-killing cult and a puppet on a string attached to his master, the Tamil Pol-Pot Velupillai Prabhakaran’s finger. The Master orders and the servile puppet delivers or else…” It is that simple. What you Parliamentarians have not understood, is that any one of these Tamil Tiger terrorists who wishes to evolve into a moderate ‘Dove of Peace’ in search of a solution, is sentenced to be rounded up, pinned to the cross by Prabhakaran, have his feathers plucked, tortured and then shot to death, as he did to Mahendrarajah alias Mahattaya, the former deputy to Prabhakaran, who participated in peace talks with Sri Lanka’s President Premadasa which began in April 1989. He was on the path of moderation befriending President Premadasa as well as the Indian Peace Keeping Force, to find a solution. On 28 December 1994, Mahattaya and 257 of his loyal ‘moderate’ cadres were rounded and lined up in a coconut estate located near Chavakachcheri and shot dead, and dumped into a mass grave.

With that clinical verdict Thamilchelvan, your ‘Dove of Peace’ wouldn’t dare carry an olive branch in his beak and speak of moderation, but carry a Kalashnikov assault rifle in his beak, as he knew that he wouldn’t have a chance to live another day to watch another peach coloured Jaffna sun rise or sip a coconut shell of Jaffna Palmyra toddy for breakfast. So you parliamentarians knew absolutely nothing about Thamilchelvan, his psyche nor understood his intentions when he refused to negotiate peace with the Sri Lankan government at the last Geneva Talks but had the arrogance to threaten the Sri Lankan Government with colossal destruction of their economic targets, and they did. This is the profile of your “Moderate” Tamil Tiger S.P. Thamilchelvan, who you say shouldn’t have died by a dropped bomb.

Keith Vaz, do you and your parliamentary colleagues know what they did to the moderate government politician, President Premadasa, who flew in Mahattaya and his Tamil Tiger peace negotiators in government helicopters, put them up in five star hotels in Colombo, fed them five course meals paid from the tax payers treasury to negotiate peace? He was blown into smithereens by one of their suicide bombers on 1 May 1993.

Such is the risk that any moderate thinker that will have to endure, for wanting to poke their fingers into Tamil Tiger Prabhakaran’s affairs. The same sentence was meted out to India’s Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi for trying to find a solution which is other than the Eelam they want. He was blown to smithereens by a woman Tamil Tiger on 21 May 1991. It is gruesome, isn’t it?

So for Pete-sake Keith Vaz, stop being so damn stupid and stubborn wanting to be a meddling goody-two-shoes. Don’t you and your team of your All Party confab understand that Thamilchelvan was scared that a peace settlement sans their mono-ethnic separatist, racist Tamil state, Eelam will not be acceptable to his boss Prabhakaran? Don’t you all understand that they only want their separate Eelam, carved out of one-third of Sri Lanka’s territory bordered by 60 percent of the coast line for 3.9 percent (World Watch 2007 statistics) of a population of 20 million and nothing less? Whom are you kidding Keith Vaz? Are you out of your mind? The rest of the 12.6 percent of the Tamil population (1981census) have flown out of their coop in search of greener pastures to places like your dear homeland. We got 250,000 of them in Canada, collecting green twenty dollar bills, two million dollars of them every month to stuff the Tamil Tiger warchest. Perhaps your adoptees are into the same mischief in the UK.

Thamilchelvan was a terrorist who had an enormous appetite to kill, maim and to indulge in Human Rights violations as a Tamil Tiger terrorist, by abducting and recruiting children for their Baby Brigade. I am not the one who charged the Tamil Tigers with this violation, it was the United Nations.

I would have loved to have been there when you all drafted the text for the News Release to sing to you his Requiem, to remind you all who S.P.Thamilchelvan was, with an apology to Pete Seeger –

Where have all Wanni flowers gone?
Long time passing.
Where have all Wanni flowers gone?
Long time ago.
Where have all Wanni flowers gone?
Thamichelvan picked them everyone,
Oh, when will you all ever learn?
Oh when will APPGT ever learn?

Where have all Wanni children gone?
Long time passing.
Thamilchelvan picked them everyone
They are all in Tiger uniforms everyone
Oh when will you ever learn?
Oh when will APPGT ever learn?

Where have all the Tiger child-soldiers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the Wanni child-soldiers gone?
Long time ago.
They are in the Wanni graveyard everyone When will you all ever learn?
Oh when will Keith Vaz ever learn?

Your news release also stated that “As well as condemning this killing in the strongest terms, the All Party Parliamentary Tamil Group calls on all parties to honour the Cease Fire Agreement signed back in 2002 and return to the negotiating table.”

For God’s sake, Keith Vaz, the CFA died many moons ago when by the end of 2005, your “moderate” Thamilchelvan and his gang of terrorists violated the Cease Fire Agreement 3471 times as against 162 by the Government armed forces. And you still talk of honouring the Ceasefire Agreement! That’s incredulous! That is neither diplomacy, nor an intelligent tact of conflict resolution or being smart. It is being foolish! And stop serenading your Tamil Tiger friends singing – “Don’t Worry…be Happy…because we are backing your cause…Don’t Worry…be Happy”

I’d like to recommend that at the end of each of your Group meetings that you all stand around the table and sing your Group’s Anthem adapted from John Lennon’s lyrics –

Two, one two three four Ev’ry body’s talking about Bagism, Shagism, Dragism, Madism, Ragism, Tagism Racism , Terrorism This-ism, that-ism, is-m, is-m, is-m All we are asking Tamil Tigers is to give Peace a Chance All we are asking You is to give Peace a Chance.

Sincerely,
Asoka Weerasinghe
