LTTE will have no future as long as killings and abductions continue - Dr. Howells

"As long as the killings and abductions continue the LTTE which claims to be the sole representative of the Tamils will have no future" said the visiting British State Minister - Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs Dr. Kim Howells in an exclusive interview with a private television channel today (15).

Dr. Howells pointed out that it was the duty and right of any elected government to ensure the security of the people and if any elements are attempting to disrupt this, then the government must curb it even with the use of force.

"It is the people of this country who ultimately should decide how the country, government and its constitution should be" he insisted.

The visiting state minister while assuring their corporation with all countries who are working towards peace in Sri Lanka, called upon all parties and people to rally around the government in its efforts to solve the issue.
