LIBERATION TIGERS OF TAMIL EELAM HAS FOUND A NEW CENTER OF POWER IN ENIGMATIC KANIMOZHI

Opposition political forces in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu say with the advent of Kanimozhi , the favorite daughter of Dravid Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) patriarch Muthuvel Karunanidhi as a Rajya Sabha or Upper House member of the Indian Parliament the Sri Lankan terrorist group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam ( LTTE)has found a friendly center of power in New Delhi.
The 39 year old rising daughter of Karunanidhi , if ever gets a place in the union cabinet of Manmohan Singh , ironically, a well known sympathizer of the LTTE who has openly declared her desire for the separation of Sri Lanka , will be sitting at the center of power despite the fact that her alleged LTTE allies killed the ruling party’s former leader Rajiv Gandhi.

When it was declared that she has been elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha seat her personal assets were revealed to be as 8.5 Crores or 85 million Indian Rupees. For a long period of time Kanimozhi has been systematically promoted as a cultural icon , a power center , being the daughter of Rajathi Ammal , the favorite wife of Karunanidhi , among his three wives. Her over 2 million US dollar wealth showed at this relatively young age as a politician that her services were not very altruistic.

According Subramanian Swamy, the Janata Party leader her long relationship with the terrorist group who killed the present Congress Party leader Sonia Gandhi’s husband started when she lived with her second business man husband in Singapore, a port city considered to be a stronghold
of the terrorist group , a docking port for its marine navy and a center for its arms purchases.
She was first hailed as a “poetess” by well planned promotional activities financed by DMK sources. She was campaigned as an ally of the Congress Party working hand in hand with Finance Minister P.Chidambaram’s son Karthi Chidambaram, two years ago.

Gradually cultural activities metamorphosed into subtle political activities when she started giving interviews to Tamil publications as the Chief Ministers daughter in defense of Tamil Culture, even pan-Tamil culture from time to time advocating a separate Tamil state in Sri Lanka, which is advocated by the LTTE and its proxy party the Tamil National Alliance.

The Jeya TV, owned by Karunanidhi opponent Jeyalalitha Jeyaram, the Leader of the AIADMK has created a huge controversy in Tamil Nadu openly labeling her as a supporter of the LTTE.
Kanimozhi’s name was linked with the LTTE at a time when the Tamil Tiger leadership took a crucial decision to spend millions of dollars to buy influence using bribes both in the United States of America and India, two countries it has decided very crucial to win its separatist war in Sri Lanka.
Some Indian allies of this move, Nachimuttu Socrates a rich Tamil Nadu Engineer living in the United States and Tamil Nadu based Catholic priest Gasper Raj have been close associates of Kanimozhi in various activities , the Jeya TV has alleged.

Kanimozhi co-manages a cultural center called Tamil Maiyam that organized a cultural show in February called Chennai Sangamam. Jeya TV has alleged that the Tourist Department has been ordered to support the Rupees 10 mllion show. The founder of the Tamil Maiyam is the Catholic priest named Gasper Raj who claimed he was helping to fuse Mozart with Carnatic music. The Catholic priest did not have any difficulty in joining Kanimozhi since she is a strong non-believer in the pantheon of Hindu gods. Jeya TV reported that the priest Gasper Raj and Nachimuttu Socrates who was among the eight people arrested by the FBI in a sting operation in the United States for offering millions of dollars to lift the ban of the terrorist group in the United States and obtain various classified documents regarding the LTTE were working very closely with Kanimozi.

M.K. Stalin is the son of Karunanidhi’s second wife Thayalu Ammal who lives in a house close to the house of Rajathi Ammal , the favorite third wife and mother of Kanimozhi. Both Karunanidhi and half brother Stalin, named after the Soviet dictator attended the Kanimozhi’s art festival and declared their support and said it would become an annual event. Apparently laying foundation for a dynastic rule in Tamil Nadu Karunanidhi said, “Kanimozhi has my poetic ability, literary craving, love for the Tamil language and the ability to work hard.” He was promoting her for an ambitious future role. The father and son duo has criticized Jeya TV for linking Kanimozhi with the LTTE.

Jayalalitha , the former Chief Minister constantly reminds Karunanidhi that he was ousted from the Chief Ministership in 1991 for the supportive role he played for the LTTE , when a Tamil Tiger suicide bomber killed Rajiv Gandhi. But ironically the Congress led government remains in power due to Karunanidhi’s help today.

Under the Karunanidhi administration in the state detonators, grenades, AK-56 rifles and ammunition besides chemicals, satellite phones, hand-held GPS sets and food stocks, apparently meant for the LTTE have been seized by the police and the state has become a major supply ground for the Sri Lanka insurgency. Jeyalalitha has alleged 'Karunanidhi and his family members are functioning as power centres.'

Nachimuttu Socrates, the man who is obsessed with the names of ancient Greek philosophers, and who has even named his son Aristotle is no follower of the philosophies either Socrates or Aristotle. According to unsealed FBI documents he is a follower of Velupillai Prabhakaran and attempted and conspired to bribe purported U.S. State Department officials to remove the LTTE from the State Department's Foreign Terrorist Organization list. Beginning in 2004 and continuing over a period of several months, the defendants met with a confidential informant (CI-1) who was operating under law enforcement supervision and two purported State Department officials, identified in the complaint as UC-1 and UC-2, and discussed the financial terms of the bribe, including a $1 million up-front payment.

According to the complaint, in December 2005, Socrates met with UC-1 and CI-1 in order to purchase a purported classified intelligence document concerning the LTTE which made reference to an investigation by the United States and a foreign government into the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO), a charitable organization suspected of being a "front" for a LTTE fund raising organization. Although the document was presented to the defendants as containing classified information, it was created by the FBI for purposes of the investigation. Socrates and CI-1 gave UC-1 $1,000 in cash, and UC-1 permitted Socrates to review the document. Socrates, in turn, passed the information to Vinayagamoorthy, a LTTE doctor who traveled from London to accompany Socrates.

While Kanimozhi’s friend was ready to offer one million dollars to buy influence in the United States the chances are it would be never known how much money the LTTE offered in Chennai, and who received them .

But under Karunanidhi’s influence Manmohan Singh’s government has told the Colombo administration that it is the super power in the region and the Colombo government cannot exercise its sovereign power to purchase its weapons from anywhere. The statement is considered to be a radical change in India’s Sri Lanka policy strongly believed to have been taken under the influence of Chennai . As long as the Manmohan government is in power all such information as to what incentives led to such radical changes will remain suppressed.
