President taken Prisoner by agents of the International Looters

Gallage Punyawardana Secretary/Federation of Buddhist Organizations

The SLFP which announced its set of proposals earlier in this month after a prolonged delay, and a lot of preparation, was for a non existent problem.

The problem in the country as very clearly stated by President Mahinda Rajapaksa is a terrorist, and not ethnic or religious. Not once but several times certainly he might have said it that in the party meetings as well.

The ordinary people of the country are also of the same view. Then, how come, the Secretary General of the SLFP, presented a set of proposals to solve an ethnic problem.

Even though the President Rajapaksa is the President of the SLFP as well, it seems that his views are not taken into consideration in formulating the proposals. The reason for such a situation has been very well said by the President a few days back. The President was reported to have said, “it is not my team. It is not a team selected by me.” What the President implied here certainly is that he has got to work with somebody else’s team, and undoubtedly the inference is the previous Chairperson of the SLFP; and the President of the country. One must not forget that she is the one who aggravated the problem created by the International Looters-IL headed by the Britain. People of this country also do not forget the fact that most of the key SLFP members were advocating Federal solutions, Political Solutions, Negotiated settlements as dictated by their Chairperson and her principals, international looters -IL.

It is also known that they were working hand in hand with the International looters. It was also the public perception that they are doing so, because they cannot afford to forego the receipts, benefits profits and the other luxuries they and their families enjoy by being friendly with the International Looters -IL, and helping them.

Their treachery to the Nation was revealed when in presenting the set of proposals to the public. It was published in Sinhala News papers as a National Crisis. That is definitely to deceive the people more particularly the Sinhala Nation. In English publications it was for the ethnic problem. That is definitely to satisfy the interests of the International looters, who wanted to keep it as ethnic. That demonstrates the mortal fear the SLFP members have for the IL.

It is not a coincidence that an All Party Parliamentary Group for Tamils was set up by British Parliament on May 02nd precisely the day when SLFP proposals were announced. Immediately after that there was a procession of nominees for International looters to Sri Lanka, to meet the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, as well as the terrorist gang leaders.

It is after this procession the SLFP’s All Island Executive committee headed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa met and approved the SLFP set of proposals based on the devolution of power, formulated by the party to solve the ETHNIC conflict in the country!

At this meeting the President might have been compelled to say, “The set of proposals approved by the party’s executive committee today would be our final proposals which would not change”. What sort of compulsion the President has been subjected is not unclear.

The Sinhala Nation has been pushed to the square one again by the agents of the IL. The Federation of Buddhist Organization is of the firm understanding the President who has already pulled the warning alarm that he has got to work with somebody else’s team has been taken prisoner by none other than his own party men.

It is therefore the burden of the patriotic Sinhalese to rescue the President and mobilize support for his singular national task of annihilating the terrorists and remove all barriers for that noble task. The Federation of Buddhist Organization urge the Nation not to leave room for any repetition of history- particularly Bandaranayake ’59.
