RENOWNED FRENCH JUDGE TO TAKE PART IN TERRORISM CONFERENCE

Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama said the renowned French judge Jean-Louis Bruguiere will be among other distinguished guests invited to address a conference on International terrorism Colombo is planning to host at the end of the year.
The conference scheduled to held in the Sri Lankan capital will be addressed by speakers from India , United States, France and Singapore among other countries.
Judge Jean-Louis Bruguiere has been praised for rounding up hundreds of terrorist suspects in France during the last two decades and was instrumental in more recent times of having played a key role in suppressing al-Qaida operatives in the country.
Nearly 150 suspects of the Bin laden led organization were rounded up in a smoothly coordinated sweep before they allegedly struck France during the World Cup of soccer in 1998 because of efforts by Judge Bruguiere.
