Boston Globe editorial writer! You can't even spell President Rajapkse's First name correctly

Kithsiri Athulathmudeli, Florida, USA.

His name is not Rahinda, as shown on the "boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial", it is Mahinda. In Sinhala Rhinawa is to remove the outer skin or the bark of a tree. My assumption is this statistical data, for the editorial was provided by a Boston Tamil Sangum member. If my assumption is correct, then the misspelling of the president Rajapkse's first name is not a mistake or a typo. If you look at the computer key board, the letter "M" and "R" are far away. The notion is to provide some humor to the Boston area Tamil Americans who read the Boston Globe editorials regularly. What this Rahinda really means is as follows: "I will skin you alive if I get a chance" This is purely my assumption. If I am totally wrong, then please, Mr. Boston Globe editorial writer; reply to my assumption and send it to editor@lankaweb.com the editor of Lankaweb will gladly publish it.

The good editorial writer suggests that there should be an international arms embargo on Sri Lanka! What happened last week? US donated a sophisticated Navy attack boats (RHIBs) and a radar system so that Sri Lanka Navy can destroy any Tamil terrorist fastest moving suicide boat. Good senator Leahy, recently said on the senate floor that he was going to call the heads of state in Israel and Pakistan to tell them not to sell any military equipment to Sri Lanka. Don't you think both heads of these countries will turn around and ask Senator Leahy "Hey Mr. Senator if US is giving away sophisticated military equipment, then why can't we sell them military equipment"? Let it be known editorial writer, in the early 1980s the only country that gave military aid to Sri Lanka was Israel. Without the two lethal weapons, Douvra attack boat and the Kafir attack air craft, half of Sri Lanka will be under the Tamil control and no Sinhala will be allowed in those areas.

Now, how are the Boston Tamils, a very politically powerful force, taking the freezing of TRO funds? Every thing related to Tamil terrorist activities from Boston is taking a good beating right now, therefore it is better for the editorial write to change the subject to HR abuse by Sri Lanka government. Where did you Mr. Editor get the 300,000 figure for the displaced Tamils? May be using the Intelsat satellite link, you used to talk to Tamil terrorist leaders in Killinochchi? I am only guessing. This figure is totally wrong. Please talk to the Sri Lanka government; I am sure they will give an honest figure, because UN has observers there. You state that government is boasting of killing 60 Terrorist Tigers. This is not boasting this is defending a democratic government that was elected by the people. When the government forces kill a Tamil terrorist they do not know whether the Tamil terrorist is a Jaffna Tamil or a Tamil Nadu Tamil. May be you took this 300,000 figure by adding the number of Tamils that has arrived from Tamil Nadu to fight the Sri Lankan government? I do not know. It will be interesting to know.

There is a silent by stander in this conflict, the Vatican; did the editorial writer see how many Catholic bishops were at the Tamilchelvam funeral? This is a sensitive subject, Vatican should be neutral in this conflict, but are they? Let's ask the editorial writer.
