Ambassador Robert Blake talks Horse-crap!Why? Here's why:

OaO Asithri

Horse-crap #1
Ambassador Blake:

"But these tactical successes should not tempt the Government to re-consider whether Sri Lanka's conflict can be won by military means. It cannot."

OaO Asithri: Who in the god-forsaken-hell are you to judge so? Are you the field commander of the Sri Lanka's defense forces who has seen action in the battle fields of Sri Lanka for the nearly 25 years that this horrific terrorist war has gone on? Rather, is this not yet another LTTE supporting, anti-war mantra that you just happened to pick up mindlessly and are now are croaking it out like a docile, domesticated parrot? FYI, Ambassador Blake, I'll have you known that it is the sum of tactical successes that finally bring victory and the demise of horrific megalomaniacs like Pol Pot, Hitler, and Saddam Hussein did occur with a steady stream of tactical successes and I think you are ignorant to disregard it. Ambassador, please bear in mind, this is NOT your Vietnam. No, the Sri Lankan defense forces who are fighting today with the LTTE terrorists are fighting for their Motherland (unlike your boys were fighting for someone else's motherland nearly 9000 miles away and their motivation and drive were, naturally, not the same.).

Horse-crap #2
Ambassador Blake:

"will require statesmanship from all sides…"

OaO Asithri: Really? Who may I ask are these "all sides?" There are only two protagonists to the Sri Lanka's armed conflict and they are the GOSL and the LTTE terrorists. So, when you say "all sides," are you expecting "statesmanship" from the mass-murderer Prabhakaran, the leader of the LTTE? If so, then I say you should also expect "statesmanship" from Bin Laden and push for an amicable, negotiated political solution to your "beef" with him!

Horse-crap #3
Ambassador Blake:

"The opposition UNP, which deserves much credit for the important steps it took to advance peace in 2002-2003"
OaO Asithri: Much credit for what? For allowing over 600 anti-LTTE political opponents and over 60 Sri Lanka Army (SLA) Military Intelligence operatives to be slaughtered by the LTTE terrorists in just one year, using the new found freedom that the UNP under Ranil Wickremasinghe awarded them on a platter? Or is the "much credit" due for giving the LTTE much needed time to re-arm, recruit (including child soldiers), and get ready to whack SLDF as they are doing today with claymores?

Horse-crap #4
Ambassador Blake:

"Now that conflict has subsided in the east"

OaO Asithri: Really? Wow! The conflict in the east did not subside by itself due to natural or mysterious causes, but only due to cleverly executed military strategy on the part of the SLDF that got the empowerment (finally) from GOSL to proceed with decisive military action. It is funny you make a commendation about "conflict has subsided in the east.." (due to the concerted military action and no other reason as I just noted) in one breath and then in the next breath you denigrate SLDF's military actions by saying there is no military solution vis-à-vis defeating the LTTE terrorism! At least the Americans I have met did not come across to me as ones who wanted to have the cake and eat it too!

Horse-crap #5
Ambassador Blake:

"the government faces significant risks if it fails to seize its opportunity in the east. Specifically, a failure to effect an orderly transition from military to civilian control"

OaO Asithri: Ambassador Blake, please do not utter the obvious and make it sound as if the GOSL is acting grossly errant. The fact is GOSL wants to transform the east into civilian control ASAP and it is already making active preparations to do so. We do not need your pontification about the need for that as it is obvious it's in GOSL's interest to do so ASAP and relieve the military to carry on with the remaining job of defeating the LTTE terrorists from their last hold-out, the northern part that is sandwiched between two AOC's of SLDF.

Horse-crap #6
Ambassador Blake:

"Likewise, resettlement and development plans that change the ethnic composition of eastern districts…"

OaO Asithri: Where in the world did you get such a notion? From RanilW? TNA? Well, it is obvious you have swallowed a canard here. GOSL will do whatever it takes to safeguard Sri Lanka's national security, even if it means that some liberated areas in the east will be designated as High Security Zones (HSZ) to prevent a re-infiltration of the LTTE cadres with their heavy armor, including the deadly 152mm artillery guns, that were positioned within some Tamil villages that were well within the range of hitting SLDF vital installations, including Sri Lanka Navy's vital Trincomalee base. No Ambassador Blake, you have no right to interfere in our internal affairs…we alone choose on how we will protect our national security and NOT you!

Horse-crap #7
Ambassador Blake:

"In conclusion, let me emphasize that a solution to Sri Lanka's conflict is in reach…"

OaO Asithri: Really? You must be kidding! Why you would say that I wonder. Is it because the mass-murderer Prabhakaran has had a change of heart? Or, it is because the SLDF appears to be defeating the LTTE militarily…in which case, your earlier statement that the "conflict cannot be won militarily" makes a load of cockamamie nonsense to us. So, you need to make up your mind Mr. Ambassador…are you agreeing, or not, that to bring peace to Sri Lanka, LTTE needs to be defeated militarily? Your statements are contradictory at best, and totally naïve at worst.

You said "we Americans are known for not mincing our words," but equally candidly, I would like to say to you "we Sri Lankans may mince words, but we are definitely not known for wanting to have the cake and eat it too!"

OaO Asithri
