SUSANTHIKA WINS GOLD FOR 100 METER EVENT

Sri lanka’s leading sprinter Susanthika Jayasinghe won the gold medal for the 100 meters event for females at the 17th Asian Athletic Championships Games now being held in Amman Jordan.
She has been named the fastest female runner at the international meet.
She clocked 11.19 seconds at the event.

Jayasinghe led the Sri Lankan team of athletes at the Games and observers predicted she could win a second gold medal at the meet for the 200 meter event for the females.
Vietnam and China won the first and third places of the 100 meter event in which susanthika won the first place.

Over 700 athletes from 45 countries take part in the 17th Asian Athletics Championships in Amman, Jordan, from July 25 to 29, according to an Asian Athletics Association (AAA) statement
