SRI LANKA DESTROYS AN IMPORTANT LTTE TRAINING BASE THAT USUALLY ACCOMODATES 300 RECRUITSBy Walter JayawardhanaSri Lankas Defense Ministry sources said the countrys Air
Force destroyed one of the biggest training centers that turned out
both Tamil Tigers land forces as well as its fighters in its marine
wing , the Sea Tigers. Intercepted radio communication among the LTTE terrorists have
revealed that "Senkadeer" sea tiger base was almost destroyed
in the recent air raids conducted by SL air force, said the Defense
Ministry, referring to the important LTTE garrison at Alampil in the
still rebel held Mulativu District. According to military intelligence the seriousness of the damage inflicted
could be gauged by the SOS that went out from the base that every family
in the rebel held Wannin should supply two pints of blood to the injured
at the training base. For the last few days the LTTE news website was alleging that Navy
Gunboats have been constantly attacking boats going out of Alampil which
it called fishing boats. The Tamil Net did not report about
the air raid on Alampil. It is estimated that the LTTE is having 12,000 land fighters and 4000
sea fighters who are fighting for a Tamil separate state in the North
and East of the country. Except few intelligence hands mingling with
civilians the LTTE has been completely routed in the Eastern Province. The separatist group are still holding the Districts of Kilinochchi
and Mullaithivu in the Wanni. |
