Recently I met my nephew Ravichandran a.k.a "Elango", a senior
member of Prabakaran's "Tigers" at one of my relatives funeral.
He was talking to me for more than 90 minutes.
He told me that Prabakaran did not build his organization from outpouring
support from majority of Tamils. After Neervely People's Bank robbery,
which was carried out by Kuttimani, Thangathurai & Prabakaran in
March 1981, Prabakaran tipped of the whereabouts of Kuttimani &
Thangathurai to Police to keep the loot for himself. After the 1983
riots, most of the Prabakaran's Tigers in South India survived using
the financial support from Sri Lankan Lawyer Maheswary Velautham who
was running a charity and information centre in Madurai. Recently Maheswary
was killed by Prabakaran due to her relationship with Douglas Devananda.
In 1984, MGR – former Tamil Nadu chief minister gave 50million
Indian Rs to Prabakaran. Again in 1985 MGR gave another 100 million
Indian Rs. Prabakaran used this money to buy rifles, rocket launchers
and ammunition from Lebanon. Later MGR gave 450 million Rs to Prabakaran.
Prabakaran used this money to buy 12 small ships. In 1987 & 1988
Premadasa gave numerous helicopter loads of money and arms to Prabakaran.
In return Premadasa wanted Prabakaran to chase Indian forces out of
Sri Lanka and kill suspected JVP members arrested by the Sri Lankan
Government forces. Prabakaran chased IPKF using Premadasa supplied arms
and money and cruelly murdered sixty thousand JVP members rounded up
by Sri Lankan forces. That's why even now JVP is very much worried about
Karuna, since JVP suspects that like Premadasa, Mahinda may use Karuna
gang to kill JVP members. Due its past experience, JVP (which is funded
by China) wants to disarm Karuna Gang.
Tamil Nadu cinema industry depends on Prabakaran's funding. Even Government
of Sri Lanka was alleging that Ayngaran International – Mega Tamil
Film producer is funded by Prabakaran using the money collected from
Tamil Diaspora in Europe. Now Prabakaran has several Tamil Nadu Politicians
and journalists in his pocket. At the moment Prof Sivathamby & TNA
MP Suresh were the main liaison persons between Prabakaran and Tamil
Nadu politicians. Prabakaran spent over 360 million Indian Rs in last
two months buy support from Tamil Nadu politicians & journalists.
Since Prabakaran murdered many UNP leaders, now UNP leadership is scared
to blame Prabakaran. Prabakaran knows how to escape from any government
actions. Just for an example, Canadian government banned Prabakaran's
charity organization which was collecting money for Prabakaran. But
Prabakaran opened up another organisation "C.A.R.E "to collect
money from Canadian Tamils. "C.A.R.E " is not a registered
organisation – So Canadian government can not ban its operations.
Also busy Canadian Tamil Diaspora may think that this "C.A.R.E"
may be the same CARE international which supplied biscuits to Sri Lankan
schools.
Now Prabakaran is regretting three blunder mistakes, murdering Rajiv,
allowing Karuna to escape and helping Mahinda to get elected.
