Purpose - To Get Rep. Brad Sherman out
of the Congressional Sub Committee on Terrorism of which he is Chairman
Why? –
Sherman has received campaign funds from the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization
(TRO) – the LTTE fund raising front which is now banned in the
US and several countries. He was the chief Guest at the opening of TRO
office in Reseda year 1999.
Sherman promoted the
TRO as a legitimate charity despite evidence of its LTTE connections
Sherman is trying to get the LTTE off the US State Department's list
of designated terrorists
Sherman made an official comment that Al Qaida terrorism (and, therefore,
LTTE terrorism) is no different from the American War of Independence.
In his mind, there's no difference between George Washington, Osama
Bin Laden, & LTTE supreme Prabhakaran!!
Can we trust him in the
War Against Terrorism?
How? -
We will present a petition
to him demanding his resignation from the Congressional Sub Committee
We will hold a peaceful demonstration outside the town hall meeting
We will ask him questions at the town hall meeting
We will take the matter further – to Congress & Speaker Nancy
