Traitors of Buddhism and Sinhala people

Sunil Vijayapala

A race is identified by it's own culture, traditions and ideals and any person who appreciates the values of it should not be labeled as a racist or a chauvinist. Basically a racist depreciates other races. Similarly a person who is passionate about a particular religion should not be castigated as a religious fanatic. The stereotypes with notions of this nature are a product of the English speaking world, the neo-intellectuals who are more or less pedantic and indulge in human rights issues aligning themselves with world organizations, who in fact have their own hidden agendas.

A practicing Buddhist seeks refuge in Buddha, Dhamma and Sanga and observe the five precepts on a day to day basis. Anyone abusing these is a traitor and have become common among laypersons and Bhikkus in Sri Lanka.

Beginning with Monks in Sri Lanka most Nayake (chief) priests abuse the Vinaya (code of conduct) and it's common knowledge, especially in Holy cities like Anuradhapura, the Chief priests keep women and own substantial houses and even have children. Recently one priest belonging to the above category was felicitated by a leading bank in Lanka and one would assume this as pure hypocrisy and ignorancy. Most Nayake priests, living in luxury, especially in the Hill country commute in super comfort owning Benz cars and these traitors of Lord Buddha and his precious Dhamma will have no answer if Buddha appears today and queries them.

These stupid fools wearing yellow robes abuse the Dhamma, and are aware of their fate in their next birth, yet continue these mean practices unhindered. Their destiny is hell and aware of it although they make their present life as comfortable as possible. There exists an awasa for young Buddhist monks in Anuradhapura near the Archeology excavation office where at night time the place is frequented by young women and the person who complains to police will find himself in hot waters as the monks in Anuradhapura are as powerful as the corrupt politicians.

Most of our monks today emulate Mudalalis and Polititions. Shouldn't the government or some pious monks form a front to eradicate this menace from the society as these traitors should not be tolerated any longer as the render a mad image of Buddhism. These monks under the privilege of the robe are seen probably all over the world and can be seen in even at the Holiest site in India, Buddha Gaya.

The ex-chief Indian priest of Maha Bodhi temple has disappeared after he was caught on camera by police selling branches of the Bodhi tree and the some corrupt Tibetan monks consider the holy site as a 'water hole' to pick up Tibetan nuns and the monasteries are visited by young village girls at night. Yours truly wrote to Dalai Lama of this pathetic situation but didn't receive a reply.

Alcoholism has hit hard in Lanka and those who abuse one of the precept is also a traitor of Buddhism, which even some Bhikkus do consume and serve lay people in leading temples.
The unfortunately government encourages alcoholism by distilling it at SDC, which should be sold to the private sector and most wine stores should be closed down as access to this menace is quite easy and all day long. The wine shops should be opened only between 12pm - 8 pm and drunked people in public should be arrested and fined as the government has taken on smoking. Why shouldn't it extend to drinking?

According to Paranavitane there did exist a race called Simhala(note the spelling) in Nothern India and the Sinhala people are the descendents of King Vijaya from Lala, (the present day Gujarat, a traitor himself and a product of incest), and Lanka Kuveni who expelled her after re-marrying to royalty of India. Lanka was invaded and populated at various periods during it's history and Kaurawas of nobility and Hastinapura(Mahabharata) fame, probably who should be correctly called Indian Kshatriyas, arrived in mass numbers in the 15th century just before the Portuguese, at the invitation of Parakramabahu the sixth, to protect the maritime provinces of Lanka. However Sakya princes and princesses belonging Kaurawas, joined royalty in Lanka from very early times (BC) and produced some great kings as Dutugamunu, Parakramabahu the Great etc. Irrespective of minor adjustments and difference we are the proud owners of a history and culture unparalleled in human history but traitors of Sinhala people did exist during our unique history and continue to live today.

Theses traitors, few Sinhala Christians, Catholics and Buddhists, as mentioned, above align themselves with foreign organizations, NGOs to label Sinhala people as racists (some hardcore ones do exit without doubt) and attempt to convince foreign governments to punish Lanka and it's government who are attempting liberate the country from a terrorist menace. These traitors including leading politicians must be expelled from the country.

Another group of traitors attempt to Anglicise the people, as was attempted by JRJ sometime ago and they believe that education should be based on the inconsistent English language. These traitors including the people in the Education Ministry firmly believe that progress and development in the country can be achieved if the village people also converse in English just as much as the Colombo ones and one Central school students has achieved this and the Ministry is absolutely proud of this achievement. These fools presume even the Sanga should preach the dhamma in English rather than in our own Sinhala since the Anglos declare it's the world language for their convenience and global strategy. They failed to govern some countries invaded by them and they failed to Anglicanise countries, wiping out religions existed in these countries and now their attempt is to globalise their language. No European country recognize English to the extent the Sinhala fool recognizes and countries like Japan, Korea never developed because they used English language nor the South Americans will ever use English. In fact the reverse is true now as Spanish is been widely used in US and the English speaking Americans are sometimes forced to learn Spanish, a bitter pill indeed, when the tide is reversed!

When Lanka switched over to Sinhala, the brilliant results of our kids at G.C.E 'O' and 'A' level were apparent and now the fools are back on the English band wagon. Yours truly do not deny the use of English as a tool and to be taught as a SUBJECT, but it should never be the MEDIUM of instruction as the disparity existed before the Bandaranayake era will re-emerge as no English teacher of the caliber who teaches in Colombo, Kandy or Galle will ever live and teach in a remote area. Brilliant people like Sunil Ariyaratne will never emerge in the country any more and the Catholic Mother Superiors the biggest traitors who rule out girls speaking Sinhala in schools will be absolutely happy with the outcome.

In the city I live, some expats have come from non city ischools and they don't ispeak English but their children are discouraged to ispeak Sinhala as they are proud to take their kids to villages and show them as exhibits as they begin ispeaking in English with their aachees and Seeyas.

Lastly some might label us expats as traitors who deserted the island but that is matter of individual opinion.
