POLITICIANS AND MULLAHS THE CAUSE OF AHMADIYYA PERSECUTION
PRESS RELEASE

AHMADIYYA MUSLIM JAMA’AT - SRI LANKA 619/4, Baseline Road, Colombo 9, Sri Lanka.

The Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (Ameer-ul-Mumineen) has responded to the recent persecution of the Community in both Pakistan and Indonesia. He said that the cause of such persecution was the mutual relationship that had developed between the mullahs (extreme clerics) and the politicians in the respective countries. He said that both were fearful of losing the worldly power and thus had joined together.

Speaking of the recent expulsion of 23 Ahmadis from Punjab Medical College, His Holiness said:

“They think that by excluding our students they will leave the Ahmadiyya Community. However they do not realize the faith of our Ahmadis and the reason for that is that they themselves have no faith.”

Commenting on recent developments in Indonesia, he said:

“The Indonesian Government has banned our Community from preaching in the country... In Pakistan similar restrictions have been imposed upon us but has that stopped the Community from prospering? In Indonesia too we will continue to garner the ever greater blessings of God Almighty.”

His Holiness also commented on recent attacks on members of the Community near the city of Hyderabad in Pakistan. A number of Ahmadis have been violently attacked and further have been arrested on totally false charges.
