LTTE gunmen assassinate head priest of Koneshwaram Hindu Temple - Trincomalee

LTTE terrorists gunned down head priest of the Knoeshwaram Hindu Temple, Sivakudaracha Kurukkal Sivakuharaja Kurukkal in Trincomalee this evening (Sept 21). According to the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS), the 43 year old priest was shot down while he was riding a motorbike around 6 PM.

According to the source, the victim was highly respected personality among the Hindu Tamils as well as the other communities living in the area. Also, he was marinating cordial relationships with the law enforcement authorities in the district and had performed a great service in building peace and harmony among the different communities.

Police conduct further investigations.
