Last evening a telephone pollster called me to find out whether Stephen
Harper could depend on my vote for the Conservatives at the next Federal
election, and I said an emphatic “Yes”. If the same pollster
phones me now, my reply would be an emphatic “May be!”
Why a sudden change of heart, especially from a card carrying member
of the Conservative Party (C111255047) and a Sustaining Donor (1871411255047)?
Right now, I am hopping mad with the Conservatives. The problem? Our
High Commissioner in Colombo, Angela Bogdan.
She has obviously lost touch with reality and respect for her host
country by joining a Quartet of International Diplomatic Rouges to initiate
a coup to erode Sri Lanka’s sovereignty. She obviously has had
difficulty to understand that what we Canadians believe very strongly
in that “*/Canada/**/ is built on a common heritage of values,
which Canadians have fought and died to defend”/* (Speech from
the Throne), also happens to be that of her host country, Sri Lanka.
*/So is Sri Lanka built on a common heritage of values that go back
for over 2,500 years, whose valiant sons and daughters are fighting
and dying to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity from the
marauding Tamil Tiger terrorists who want their separate mono-ethnic,
racist state, Eelam, carved out from the north and east of that island./*
Angela Bogdan has also forgotten that Canadians did every thing under
the sun in the mid-90s to shun the separatist forces in Quebec from
letting them have their separate Quebec. She is oblivious that we are
still in that fighting mode in the political arena.
What did Angela Bogdan do to pinch me to say “May be” to
vote for the Conservatives the next time around? She has joined the
R2P concept gang of the Quartet of International Diplomatic Rogues –
Gareth Evans who has set up a Global Centre for his R2P Project, Bradman
Weerakoon, Board Director of ICES, the R2P Global Centre’s Advisory
Board Members Dr.
Radhika Coomaraswamy and Dr. Rama Mani (a French national). The latter
was the Executive Director of the International Centre for Ethnic Studies
(ICES) who was sacked by its Board of Management because she had mismanaged
finances and surreptitiously, and indirectly supported by our Canadian
High Commissioner, tried to ally this NGO with the R2P Global Centre
Project as the Southern Affiliated Centre based in Colombo *which is
actively working to erode the sovereignty of Sri Lanka by interfering
in the affairs of this sovereign state.*
**And now Canada which has been desperately trying to reclaim its status
as the world peacemaker of the Nobel Peace Prize Pearsonian era, gets
into the act. It was certainly unusual for Angela Bogdan, our High Commissioner
to write directly to the Board of ICES threatening to withdraw funding
if Rama Mani was not reinstated as its Executive Director. That is certainly
interference and high handed diplomacy.
Minister, what is in question here is that Angela Bogdan has breached
international protocol as Head of a Mission in a foreign country by
addressing a Board of Directors of a civil society organization, in
trying to run the business of this establishment, including appointments?
The question that is going begging is whether it is the employee (Rama
Mani) who is funded by Canada or is it the organization (ICES)?
Angela Bogdan should be brought to book for setting herself up as Canada’s
Tin-Goddess in Sri Lanka who thinks she is more reliable as a decision
maker for that island nation and its peoples future by supporting an
illegal commitment by an Executive Director of an NGO to be part of
the Global R2P Project without due consultation or providing information
to responsible authorities of this NGO. Angela Bogdan with her interference
has become the fifth member of this suspicious gang of International
Diplomatic Rogues with an agenda to erode Sri Lanka’s sovereignty.
Minister, this is not the time to make foolish manoeuvers by a member
of your diplomatic staff and antagonize your voters when a federal election
is looming. You better take a handle of this situation quickly, and
see that nothing is done by Canada to erode Sri Lanka’s sovereignty
by supporting a group of International Diplomatic Rogues, directly or
indirectly, to establish an unauthorized office in Colombo of the Global
R2P Centre *which is actively working to erode the sovereignty of Sri
Lanka. That should be an emphatic No, No.*
I will appreciate a reply from you addressing the content of this letter
and just not an acknowledgment of receiving it.
