*Tsunami Disaster Relief -Hela Sarana-UK *

Hela Sarana ( Hope for Sri Lanka ) was formed in 1996 and is a registered Charity Organization ( N0. 1093504 ) in the UK , and has assisted and helped many Sri Lankan families living in remote areas to build homes and engage in agriculture.
When Tsunami tidal wave struck Sri Lanka on 26 th December 2004 , there were four members of Hela Sarana in Sri Lanka , and they promptly took actions to help the victims in many ways.
1.Released £ 4000.00 for emergency relief.
2.Funded the purchase of a truck-load of dry rations to be distributed to 500 families in Galle and Matara.
3.Funded Rs. 200,000 ( received through Ruhunu Development Society in the UK ) for providing medical supplies to the general hospital , Matara
4. Gave Rs. 200,000 to GMOA
5.Supplied ten water storage tanks to refugee camps in Galle.
6.Supplied refigeration units to general hospital ,Galle.
7. Personal contributions , in excess of Rs. 500,000 by the 4 Hela Sarana committee members to provide urgent essential items to the victims.

Hela Sarana has formed an affliated society in Sri Lanka and is planning to get registered NGO status to carry out a well planned rehabilitation programme , with skilled professional participation , in Housing and Education and donations are most welcome.
