Canadian Authorities Have Little To Give Thanks On the thanksgiving Weekend At King City, Ontario, Canada

They know they have no recourse towards their demands, being criminally liable in nature against a Sovereign Nation but what is more mind boggling is how Canada still continues to play a double standard in being indifferent about tolerating Tamil Tiger supportives in Canada while being pretentious about the proffered policy of arresting LTTE operatives and dismantling their operations in Canada, as an example of this indifference was quite apparent through the manner in which a group of Tamil Tiger supportive demonstrators had their way at the Four Nations T-20 cricket tournament involving Canada, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Zimbabwe.

Bearing in mind that there are currently, ongoing operations against Tamil Tiger terrorism in Canada, are the ongoing operations to this effect so vividly portrayed in the world media mere token gesures one wonders? So where were the Canadian Authorities when there was a shameful display by a huge contingent of Tamil Diaspora when they attempted to disrupt the three day international T-20 quadrangular cricket tournament held at the Maple Leaf Stadium in King City Ontario Canada albeit to no effect beyond causing a huge embarrasment to the Canadian Authorities and putting a mild damper on the festively sporting nature of the tournament?

It was the Thanksgiving week-end in Canada undoubtedly and everyone was in a holiday mood but this does not excuse the authorities from not enforcing legislation set in place by the Harper Administration which has thus far outlawed any pro -Tamil Tiger demonstrations in Canada but somehow the priorities towards this seem to have been shelved on this occassion or having an off day to all intents and purposes while many anxieties and apprehensions were being expressed by the huge crowds that had gathered on all three days to witness the cricket perhaps in fear of an outbreak of violence!!!

Case in point~ Maple leaf Grounds King City a few kilometres from Toronto -on a balmy 'Thanksgiving' weekend of Oct 10th -Oct.13th particularly on the last day of the tournament where Sri Lanka was playing Pakistan for the championship which Sri Lanka won comfortably by 5 wickets, thousands of Canadian Tamils were breaking the law and seen standing out in the street outside the King City cricket ground with placards, yelling pro-Tamil Tiger terrorist slogans vociferously, waving Tamil Eelam terrorist flags while handing out leaflets which clearly indicated defiance by these Tamils granted resident status in Canada semingly challenging Canadian Law which had proscribed the Tamil Tigers and banned such demosntrations!

Most of the demonstrators carrying placards and chanting slogans were directing their diatribe and protestations against the Sri Lankan cricketer Ajantha Mendis an army officer and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksha and seemed to be oblivious to their ignorant direction and perhaps fortunate they were not incarcerated as they were in direct violation of Canadian Law but for the law to be enforced the lawmakers needed to step up their actions into high gear rather than being unavailable in the required compliment or perhaps partaking of the relaxed festivities for Thanksgiving while the demonstraters created mayhem where some of their publicity operators had even rented a light aircraft carrying pro terrorist slogans which flew over the ground, which is truly Canada's shame for having tolerated such a demonstration!

Sri Lankan cricketing icon Sanath Jayasuriya too had to face the embarrasment of hurled verbal abuse while fielding close to the boundary where some of these demonstrators had gathered outside and Jayasuriya's own remonstration had been made a big deal of by the local media where Jayasuriya had every right to defend his integrity with a show of defiance himself while portraying his own loyalties to his motherland and giving them the veritable single finger salute and bravo to him and to hell with his critics!

Consequently in that nook of Canada known as the Maple Leaf Cricketing Facility in King City Ontario, due to their neglect towards breaking up and dispersing these demonstration which were pro terrorist in nature, the Canadian Authorities seemed to have little to give thanks for during this particular Thanksgiving Weekend where it is hoped such occurences will never transpire again!
