The News item captioned Tamil Games Victim of Police Seizure by Jeff
Heinrich Published in the Montreal Gazette on Tuesday, April 15 has
fired up Tamils in Montreal to the tune of "Hey Tamil youth of
Montreal, listen up: the Canadian government wants to extinguish your
(mini-) Olympic flame" and this is bold rhetoric by a representative
of the Leading English News Daily of Montreal and an apathetic example
of a Canadian speaking (up in veiled rhetoric of course) against the
Government of his country and its Law Enforcement Agency the Royal Canadian
Mounted Police.They are presently conducting raids and seizure of material
as tangible evidence of the WTM's links with the LTTE, a globally frowned
upon terrorist organization which has established itself in Canada due
mainly to previous neglect and indifference by incumbent Governments
and what this writer's objectives are by fomenting dormant emotions
amongst the local Tamils can only be attributed to a lack of responsibility
and disrespect towards the Government.
The Canadian Government's suspicions that the World Tamil Movement (WTM)
is a front for an outlawed terrorist organization back in Sri Lanka,
the Liberation Tigers Of Tamil Eelam being well founded and the raid
on the premises of the WTM have been conducted after prolonged and careful
investigations which also involved investigations by Canada's spy agency
CSIS and other Law enforcement agencies both in Toronto, Montreal and
Nationally have been confirmed by reliable sources who prefered anonymity
and not a case of the Tamil community activities being railroaded or
disrupted wantonly as the writer suggests.
If the WTN has been forced into cancelling a big annual community sports
event it had planned for this summer according to the group's Montreal
lawyer Mr Slimovitch a member of Montreal's Jewish community he has
to contend with the realities involved in the past that the WTM or whatever
organization that sponsored this event and others of its kind did so
blatantly displaying Tamil Tiger insignia, the banner of the Tamil Tigers
lofted high and all the propaganda material relative to theTamil Tiger
Movement's activities which has now gone underground since the New Conservative
Government took office and proscribed them while implementing the proscription!!
All the rhetoric suggesting that the WTM has a sporting activity equating
to a kind of mini-Olympic Games, and all the lists of participants and
volunteers they had for that and other events have all been confiscated,
as proclaimed to the media by lawyer Steven Slimovitch seems to overlook
the reality that this event is a continuation of the same event which
has taken place for some years in Montreal now with one notable difference
namely the fanfare and publicity it's organizers gave the Liberation
Tigers of Tamil Eelam under whose auspices the event was conducted in
previous year, which they have now been forced to abandon for fear of
incarceration!
Indeed it must sounds funny, but it's true that the partiicipants
of this event normally go to a park, usually the Kent Park in Cote des
Neiges district in West Montreal and have a few hundred people participating
which turns out to be a pretty big thing albeit by no means Olympian.
Not this year though as the credibilities of the organizers have been
discovered as pro -terrorist and if its organizers can half as much
as scramble to keep it going they are probably putting themselves at
risk as their number seems to be up despite the absence of the incriminating
insignia which they seem to have buried for obvious reasons!!One of
the main organizers of this event amongst others in the past even had
a huge Tamil Tiger Crest stencilled on the rear window of his car which
suddenly dissapeared once the Government crackdown began and unconfirmed
reports suggest that this individual has been apprehended for Tax related
and other offences!
All the events which have led to The Tamil Movement's headquarters on
Van Horne Ave. in Côte des Neiges being sealed last Friday after
the RCMP enforced a Federal Court order barring access to the premises
are sequential to carefully conducted investigations and the reason
as reported in the Toronto Star and Montreal Gazette for this action
hinging on more than mere suspicion that the two-story converted residence
- which the RCMP raided two years ago to collect evidence - was being
used as a base to send money to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam
not for humanitarian purposes as the plea of response was, but towards
funding their terrorist activities against the Government of Sri Lanka.
If the Government order to shut down the activities of the WTM in Montreal
throws an iron in the works of the Tamil community's plans for its so
called 'mini-Olympics', normally held over a weekend in July in a Montreal
public park or the Complexe sportif Claude Robillard. Now in its 18th
year, it seems unfortunate from a community standpoint but perfectly
justifiable if the organization sponsoring it was a front for Tamil
Tiger Terrorism which the Government of Canada has charged with tangible
evidence collected from as far back as 2006.
The present Canadian administration being a straight laced, smooth functioning
and efficient one which has adopted a no nonsense, no conciliations
to terrorists! attitude! which is much to the chagrin of all the Tamil
Tiger supportives both in Canada and globally are a role model for all
other administrations the world over where terrorism has no place to
hide within Canada as they are invariably sought out and brought to
justice within the Canadian Justice System regardless of spur of the
moment denials, souped up statistics, concocted fairytales and falsified
pleas of innocence as there has never been a single documented case
attesting to any benevolent intentions or objectives present in the
idealogies of the LTTE towards the Nation of Sri Lanka and now a globally
know reality where the WTM by virtue of affiliations which will be proved
beyond reasonable doubt are also part of this rationale!
If Tamil Tiger terrorism is being effectively stamped out in Sri Lanka
there is no reason to tolerate their presence not only in Canada but
any other part of the world where the mendacious Tamil Tigers aspire
to set up operational locales and Canada's response seems to indicate
at long last an action which should have been initiated decades ago!
The intolerance of terrorist activity in any form within Canada with
specific reference to the Tamil Tiger Terrorist Organization who at
times arogantly flaunted their presence in Canada and have been rudely
shocked into being disillissioned today that theirs was a wasted effort!!
