AIR FORCE JETS BOMB AND DESTROY THREE LTTE FAST ATTACK SEA BOATS IN MULLAITHIVU LAGOON

The Sri Lanka Air force attack jets bombed and destroyed three armed boats beached near the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) stronghold of Mullaithivu in Northern Sri Lanka.

The three boats belonging to the Sea Tigers, the marine wing of the LTTE were accurately hit and completely destroyed by the laser guided bombs of the modern aircraft, the Air Force reported.
“The Sea Tiger boats were located beached near the lagoon of Mullaithivu and all threee boats were completely destroyed during the air raid at 5.40 p.m. (Sri Lanka time Saturday evening) ,” Air Force spokesman Wing Commander Andy Wijesuriya said.

The Air Force acted on intelligence provided by the Sri Lanka Navy. The intelligence could be further confirmed by unmanned air vehicles (UAV) sent for reconnaissance, defence sources further said.

The pilots reported the complete destroyal of the armed fast boats, the sources said.
During Friday due to heavy fighting 21 LTTE terrorists and one government soldier were killed.
