Tiger Detained in Kathmandu - Nepal
Information has been received that a high ranking LTTE cadre is being interrogated
by the Indian authorities. He has been travelling on a false passport and arrested and
detained at Kathmandu, the Capital of Nepal. The report further says that interrogation is
done by officials of the Research and Analysis Wing of India.(-27/05/98)

Seven killed in mine blast near north Sri Lanka town At least seven people were killed and eight
wounded when a mine exploded near the northern Sri Lankan town of Vavuniya
on Tuesday, police and military officials said.
They said two vehicles carrying members of the Democratic People's Liberation
Front (PLOTE) were heavily damaged from the explosion while travelling east of

Tamil Engineer arrested over Kalutara bomb
A special police team who are investigating the bomb explosion at the Kalutara
telephone exchange have taken into custody a Tamil engineer on suspicion. The suspect who
was arrested on Tuesday night is a resident of Jaffna and works for a Telecom Office in
Colombo, police sources said. The suspect is now being questioned by the police, sources
said. The suspect had entered the Kalutara transmitting station on April 25 to repair the
air conditioner. What caused suspicion about this engineer was that he had gone there
without anyone complaining about the air conditioning, it is alleged(The
