Sidetracking The Government's
Push Towards Eliminating The LTTE By So Called Socialist Rhetoric, Anti
Social From A Sinhala Perspective!
November 5th 2007
It is important to highlight the item under the caption"Sri Lankan
Military 'Assassinates' LTTE Political leader In Air Strike" recently
presented as a news item on the World Socialist Web Site (WSWS)and to
put the real truth of the matter into perspective so that the Global
Community can truly understand the importance of targetting this individual
who was a terrorist and a criminal and the term assassinate perhaps
inapplicable as opposed to elimination which would seem more appropriate.
What is most disturbing and disconcerting about such news reports and
particularly in this instance is that they are posted by Sinhalese who
seem to have forgotten their loyalties to their motherland, their real
heritage and allegiance towards patriotism and the inability to be able
to differentiate between a terrorist and a true freedom fighter which
title cannot be applied to anyone within the LTTE being condemned and
procribed terrorists and the recent rumblings around the world about
the Sri Lankan Government not pursuing a proper path towards resolving
the Nation's woes are consequently to a greater extent projected by
the concoctions and mythical presentations of such items which is a
pity and a travesty of justice which also makes the Government's task
arduous and more complicaticated towards closure and resolution.
The recently deposed LTTE terrorist leader S.P. Thamilchelvan, albeit
portrayed as a top negotiator for the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam
(LTTE) also has a grisly track record inasmuch as his predecessor Anton
Balasingham (now deceased also) who had free passage in and out of the
UK, permission to live there with impunity and carte blanche to continue
villifying the Sri Lankan nation due to the exact same conceptions as
the subject under reference which is false presentation by many global
media of these individuals as being legitimate law abiding human beings
when they in reality were the Devil's Advocates, criminals and murderers
at a conservative estimation and perhaped steeped in deeper evils.
While detracting from the real crimes linkable to the individuals concerned
through the many false presentations as in the case of Thamilchelvan
they simply cannot be swept under the carpet and need to be exposed.
It has to be acknowledged that this individual, a terrorist leader was
killed in a legitimate air strike by the Sri Lankan Air Force near the
northern LTTE stronghold of Kilinochchi early Friday morning and the
Armed Forces should have no trepidations about carrying out such tasks
vital towards the well being of the Nation while shrugging aside puerile
criticisms and to attest to this there are many plaudits and accollades
towards a task well done coming from around the world by many discerning
sources while there also are the negative responses which are to be
expected for obvious reasons from disgruntled Tamil diaspora beginning
to see Eelam as an unattainable pipe dream.
In an overall perspective this action by the Air Force perhaps heralds
the beginning of the end of the terrorists where Sri Lanka could well
be on the verge of a New Era towards prosperity, development and terrorist
free as the die seems to have been cast towards Governmental incentives
that make a concerted forward push towards ridding the nation of the
LTTE a mandatory effort.
The raid, which turned out to be a clinically accurate mission in the
aftermath of the botched LTTE attempt to overrun an Airforce Base which
also resulted in the deaths of five other senior LTTE officials and
there are many discerning analysts who believe there may be other important
names among those killed although the LTTE are not divulging them being
reluctant to face the ignominy of it all but they should rest assured
that worse may follow!
For any public newscasters to even suggest as the WSWS has "that
the deliberate targetting of Thamilchelvan exposes the absurdity of
the Sri Lankan Governments claims to be abiding by the 2002 ceasefire
agreement and its occasional calls for a negotiated end to the countrys
long-running civil war is typical of the type of anti Governmental rhetoric
this idealogical group seems to indulge in regularly through media hype
as though they have a mission to continue throwing wrenches into the
smooth functioning of the Sinhala Nation and the organisers of this
setup if they consider themselves Sinhalese should hang their heads
in shame!
They seem to have forgotten for their own conveniences perhaps that
it was the LTTE who broke the conditions of the ceasefire and the hand
of the Government was forced towards establishing all the necessary
measures to ensure National Security and no matter who says what to
the contrary the Government is indeed fully justified in the direction
it has taken towards eliminating the LTTE who are internationally proscribed
terrorists and the sooner they acheive the objective the better it will
be for the Nation as well as the entire region of South Asia!
