Never Before Has There Been A Greater And More Compelling Need Towards Fortifying Predominantly Sinhalese Areas Targetted By The LTTE!

June 8th 2008 That the Nation of Sri Lanka and her administrators need to look at the infiltration of LTTE terrorists into Sinhala populated areas in a much wider perspective than ever before is an understatement projecting serious ramifications towards National Security and demanding immediate attention becomes painfully apparent in the aftermath of the recent spate of LTTE bombings in predominantly Sinhalese populated areas!! Ironically there have been many advisories given by analysts who have researched the issue carefully that this was a foreseeable eventuality and now The Jathika Hela Urumaya seems very correct in ascertaining that the continuing spate of bomb attacks in the South of Sri Lanka is indicative of the presence of an (not necessarily strong albeit perhaps efficient ) LTTE network in Colombo, and calls for its elimination through a reinforced Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agency network and more raids against it and to all intents and purposes better late than never!

While there is precious little or nothing to dispute the JHU claim that this tolerance of Tamils in Sinhalese populated areas unconditionally without pulling all stops within the statutes of the land to protect it is whimsical given the circumstances, the Administration's direction needs to change drastically in a manner which will serve all citizens of Sri Lanka towards protecting them from cowardly and indiscriminate LTTE terror attacks such as the recently perptrated bomb attacks in Dehiwela, Katubedde and Polgolla.

The JHU just as much as many other sources who have drawn the same conclusion seem to have struck the nail on the head in surmising that there has always been a nexus of terrorist supportive elements in predominantly Sinhalese areas collaborating with the LTTE and that something stringent needs to be done about it where there can be no willy nilly sentiments involved in dealing with individuals or groups leaving themselves open to suspicion of surreptive LTTE support and the actions needing to be initiated sparing no pains about cleaning up and weeding out any one or everyone with the slightest suspicion of links to the terrorists and while this might not seem easy to accomplish, the felt need is compelling where inasmuch as the Armed Forces' relentless drive in the North and East is taking a heavy toll on the terrorists there also need measures to be taken to secure and fortify all areas of Sri Lanka susceptible to cowardly retaliatory LTTE attacks which is what the JHU have categorically emphasized and all kudos to them for their perception!

The statement signed by JHU Secretary Ven. Omalpe Sobhitha Thera says that "blasts upto the one at Katubedda in Moratuwa today (June 06th) make it clear that Prabhakaran was engaged in an inhuman game with the innocent unarmed civilians of the country.This is an attempt to prevent the forward march of the heroic soldiers who are engaged in their final battle to wipe out the LTTE from the Wanni" and truer words relative to the issue have probably never been spoken since the earmarking of Tamil residents in Sinhala areas was discouraged and discontinued after a Supreme Court ruling and a public outcry of the holier than thou brigade but the fact of the matter is there are times when preventive measure needed to quell a problem such as the one Sri Lanka is facing through attacks on innocent civilians is a very serious one needing a no holds barred resolution and its upto the Government to initiate it!

There is an uncanny semblance of the truth in the JHU statement which also alleges that ''certain persons" were trying to gain political advantage out of these bomb attacks, and that the Tiger terrorists have succeeded in their attempts to target civilians due to the barriers erected against military searches by so-called peace merchants of NGOs and foreign diplomats, who should take the blame for the lost lives.In fact they probably need to be taken to task over it and incarcerated through whatever means it takes casting aside their privileged status as well as any predilections about the recent hue and cry over so called Human Rights Violation accusations against the Government where the JHU with no mincing of words has questioned as to whether these forces would ever take steps with regard to the human rights of those who have died in these inhuman attacks or apply them to other parts of the world where the need was crushingly imperative in a more realistic sense than pandering to the LTTE which to all apearances seems to be the case here.

The Sri Lankan authorities now more so than previously have a felt need towards stepping up security and those authorities entrusted with the task should completely disregard intimidations by the pundits and speed up their searches of houses, lodges etc. in Colombo and other areas as the failure to do so would be a rank injustice to all peace loving citizens of Sri Lanka where hedging on the primary importance of destroying the LTTE's roots in Colombo would result in attempted genocidal attacks becoming a very frequent occurrence as the JHU has anticipated while also adding that the Government should not stop the forward march of the heroic soldiers in the Wanni and prepare the people for the elimination of the Tigers by placing the country on a war footing, initiating all the appropriate statutes and related measures needing to be implemented towards the security and preservation of the freedoms of all her citizens while not tolerating the current rabid run of a bunch of terrorists near their extermination!

Extending the party's condolences to the bereaving families from these bomb attacks which is also an extension of sympathies, prayers and thoughts of comfort by the entire Nation as well as a global wave of concern and support for them, the JHU says the 30-odd years of genocidal terrorist project was at its final stage now. As Prabhakaran is seeing the end to his dream of an Eelam, his only aim is to protect his life by preventing the forward march of the heroic soldiers in the Wanni and Kilinochchi.

While his chances of ever accomplishing his objectives grow lesser by the day there is every indication that the end of the road for Velupillai Prabhakaran and his consortium of murderous criminals is also very near and these recent attrocities are a mere indication that criminals of their type will not be subdued without causing as much harm as possible in desperation to the Nation of Sri Lanka which will truly rejoice once her public enemy No.1 and his cowardly, conscienceless despots are totally eliminated.
