A Time Where The Nation Needs To Be Fully Supportive Of The Government And The Armed Forces.

With each passing day the deck seems to be stacked against the remnants of the LTTE running helter skelter in confusion and desperation yet able to orchestrarte sporadic attacks at civilians and the occassional Armed Forces patrols and these are indicative of the last gasps of the terrorists who will only continue until their criminal as well as nefarious leader Velupillai Prabhakaran is cornered together with his wretched associates and either taken out or captured and this is a time for great vigilance by the entire Nation of Sri Lanka. It will be a time of great celebration for the nation once this is accomplished as all indications point towards this eventuality

It seems unfortunate however that at times due to the inevitable actions needing execution towards public security and safeguarding the Nation from the terrorists the measures of late have been tough, forceful and at times even stringent drawing angered retaliation from the cornered vermin calling themselves Tamil Tigers but the public should be well aware of the existing situation whilst pitting their fullest support and confidence with the Rajapaksha Administration and the dedicated Armed Forces of Sri Lanka in the firm belief that this is the only way for the Nation to be free once and all from the terrorist menace and should have no qualms or anxieties as the Nation will prevail over its adversaries given all the indications of the situation prevailing today where only the opposition forces and the enemies of the State stand in the way of Sri Lankan posterity!

Very importantly and notably when there have been casualties and lost lives in the aftermath of terrorist attrocities the present Government unlike many others have responded to the families of the victims almost immediately in compensating them albeit the value of the lives lost can never be fully compensated for in terms of money but in addition to this there are assurances by the Government towards greater security measures and tighter enforcement of the laws created for this purpose as well as a positive attempt to weed out any suspected infiltrators and LTTE collaborators into Sinhalese areas who have of late been the sole reason for the LTTE to gain easy access into mainly Sinhalese populated areas.

This resolve as expected has once again come under fire from all the wrong sources both within and without Sri Lanka as well as the veiled mumblings to this effect by some from the opposition camp of Ranil Wickremasinghe as well as some minority groups but now it seems Hobson's choice to go after the LTTE in full force and disregard all the protestations of those who do so towards their own advantage as well as myopic misconceptions rather than the well being of the Nation which must take priority over fecund opoinions which have in the past been disruptive towards National Security and a harsh fact of life towards the related reprisals!

Undoubtedly the Government of Sri Lanka and the Security Forces are doing an admirable job in the face of grave adversity at times towards protecting the lives and properties of all citizens from the barbaric acts of the desperate LTTE but their task is a very complex one at the present as the terrorists who sometimes rather than engaging the Armed Forces being the conscienceless cowards they are, while calling themselves 'freedom fighters' (the furthest from the truth) prefer to target innocent civilians getting about their day to day existences and a greater emphasis appears to be necessary on the part of the civilian population towards an unprecedented vigilance in these trying times where no stone can be left unturned and anything or anyone subject to suspicion needs to be acted upon and not left to speculation or time delay as has been the case of the Nugegoda attack where a delay in putting together a plan of action cost many lives sadly!

This a time when the LTTE back must be broken and they are driven into submission and subjugation and a time when the Armed Forces have a high point of advantage over the terrorists and are focussed on their plan of action and direction and the LTTE a disoriented bunch on the run albeit still dangerous!

In this respect it is the bounden duty of the Sri Lankan Government to be conscious of its prime obligation towards protecting the people belonging to all ethnicities and winning their confidences that nothing will stand in the way of the Armed Forces on their relentless drive to wipe out the LTTE and in turn need every bit of support and co-operation towards the task.
This is also a time for the discontentments of the JVP and other national minded political alliances more interested in their personal agendas to be cast aside! Their continuous bickerings against the so called indiscretions by the Government more often distorted beyond reality by comparison to previous administrations must cease, in order to lend their fullest support to the cause of wiping out the LTTE terrorists and for all patriotic Sri Lankans regardless of ethnicity to stand shoulder to shoulder and drive the LTTE into oblivion. And with the necessary concerted effort it is bound to be a reality
