Elimination Of The Tamil Tigers Has To Be The Only Pre-Condition Towards The Restoration Of A Normal Order

August15th 2008

There is no greater truism today in Sri Lanka that the Government of Sri Lanka cannot go back to the status quo of the once highly publicized ceasefire with the Tamil Tiger terrorists which was a meaningless accord that only strengthened the LTTE's insurgence might even temporarily. The leader of a previous administration all but handed on a platter exactly what the terrorists were searching for towards gaining a foothold as a prelude to overpowering all of Sri Lanka and the Sinhala Nation but thankfully due to the resolve of the present Administration. its CEO and the power of the Armed Forces under its astute leaderships this has been reversed, almost negated and is on the verge of being crushed! Hence it becomes mandatory that the elimination of the Tamil Tigers has to be the only pre-condition towards the restoration of a normal order given their status of fully armed unrelenting insurgent terrorists!

When references are made relative to an anticipated political solution that may be found at the end of the internal armed insurrection of the Tamil Tiger terrorists it most definitely has to be rational towards the needs of the Tamil Community within Sri Lanka where they cannot present the LTTE as their representation unless they want to make a mockery of the entire concept of peace if they envision their sponsors as such who are a worthless group of armed and murderous terrorists. This is being specified to muffle the voices of a few misguided panacea seekers obviously pro-LTTE who still despite the odds against them beleive the LTTE can be given even a modicum of recognition which to all intents and purposes no sane or rational administration will accede to given the realities of who or what the LTTE truly represent.

It appears to be a foregone conclusion and all but over that the LTTE are on a collision course towards elimination at the hands of the Armed Forces and the LTTE once removed permanently there has to be a restoration of civil order and the democratic rights of all citizens once imperiled by the threat of the LTTE where it will be a matter of substantially renewing and re-establishing Central Government rule throughout the island, where the unwelcome presence of the LTTE will no longer be a hindrance to all freedom loving Sri Lankans. The degree to which multicultural pluralism needs to be invoked towards the future of Sri Lanka at this juncture hardly needs emphasizing as the role it will play will be invaluable from many perspectives all pointing to the imminent needs of a nation redeemed from the scourge of terrorism.

It seems somewhat daunting however that there still are sources who believe through their myopic vision perhaps that the LTTE will somehow prevail and towards this keep pumping up various flavours of rhetoric such as "They Are Now Constructing A large Runway To Accomodate Big Aircraft In The Wanni", "They will Never Be Defeated", "Prabhakaran's Intentions For The Tamil Community Are Magnanimous And Compassionate" etc. etc. hollow rhetoric at best with no tangible means towards acceptance of credibility.

These are intended specifically to mislead the more gullible within the international community and those who have little comprehension about the realities of what goes on in Sri Lanka today, that there is "a more humane and compassionate side" to the LTTE which is the largest misconception relative to the needs of the Tamil community and the furthest from the truth as the time is at hand where the futility of this as well as the incapacity of the Tamil Tigers in their present mode towards this even hypothetically becomes crystal clear although logically the hypothesis needs to be trashed as no insurgent group will ever gain control of Sovereign Sri Lanka towards their ill motivated objectives nor will they be accepted in a world dedicated and avowed to wipe out terrorism in its entitrety wherever it surfaces.By and large some of the Tamil community are also well aware of the concoctions and innuendo involved towards the portrayal by some that the LTTE are humane liberators of an oppressed community which is virtually a myth and these are making themselves heard through dissent!

Indeed the conflict perhaps now at its greatest intensity ever between the Armed Forces and the insurgents continues unabated due to the resilience of the latter but the indications are that cracks have begun to surface in their organization linked to disunity, disorientation and the lack of resources needed towards functioning efficiently in continuation of attrocities against Sovereign Sri Lanka as they once did in high gear and the very collective achilles heel the Armed Forces are expoliting where it must be mentioned that this momentum needs to be maintained relentlessly towards the ultimate demise of the LTTE.

There can be no speculation about whether or not the Government of Sri Lanka must win the war for the simple reason that from a Sri Lankan perspective and according to many analysts the Tigers need to be eliminated if there is to be any chance of restoring a normal order within Sri Lanka for all her citizens. As suggested in a recent report "The Government seems to have put the political process on the back burner." very prudently !one might add as the worthlessness of negotiating with fully armed and mendacious terrorists has been portrayed beyond speculation as a negative move towards Sri Lankan posterity where the greatest impediment towards progress and development of this wonderful nation once the cynosure of many visionaries as the epitome of paradise has to be the evil and unwelcome presence of insurgent terrorists such as the LTTE! Hence the imperative need to be rid of their presence permanently on behalf of all Sri Lankans regardless of caste, creed, ethnicity and religion stands out.

In the aftermath of the elimination of the LTTE as anticipated there will be other challenges for the Administration to face nevertheless, some of them in all probabilities daunting and complicated given the socio economic disrepair in Sri Lanka to which the LTTE have been the main contributors although many inroads have been made subsequently towards restitution. None of these however will see any real closure until the scourge of the LTTE are wiped off the face of Sri Lanka and then and only then will all her citizens hope to lead decent lives unimpeded by the viles of terrorism!
