The latest Government response to the LTTE seems to indicate some prevarication on the part of the Rajapakse Administration that it is bowing down to international pressure of sorts and synonymously bending to the will of two faced Norway. Contrary to their pledges on pre-Presidential Election platforms where a decision such as the one agreeing to airlift the LTTE representatives outward bound for the next round of "Peace Talks " in Geneva seems totally about face, a No No! and incongruous with the latest banning of the LTTE by Canada and the strong messages of warning sent out by many other Nations outstanding that the LTTE are merely orchestrating a charade while their insurgent activities and crimes against Sovereign Sri Lanka continue unabated at a heavy price for the Nation.

Their demands (LTTE) about what needs to be done to appease them and how their transportation needs to be conducted is entirely a matter for the Government to execute with no compromising of the Nation's security where certain conditions were agreed upon at the outset and now appear to have been bypassed merely to palaver to the LTTE who contrary to being palavered to need to be sought out and destroyed and all Governmental manouvering towards initiating this employed to the fullest effect and perhaps a tour de force which needs to be viewed objectively.

The Peace Process continues to increase in stature as a right royal farce and the de facto LTTE control of certain parts of Northern and Eastern Sri Lanka continue unabated bearing testimony to the futility of expectations that the LTTE are a group of rational and trustworthy beings beyond criminality! The irksome realization by most Sri lankan on this issue is the neglect and apathy shown by the Administration towards tolerating this embarrasment with hardly a whimper towards correcting it and perhaps the time is at hand towards restitution and a restoration of all of Sovereign Sri Lanka rowards being an entity unfettered by terrorist ambition or fragmented towards their cause even in the smallest measure!

Factually one might ask, who are the LTTE terrorists really trying to kid? having repeatedly demonstrated that their only objective is to hold to ransom the legitimate Government of Sri Lanka through craftily compiled insurgent means as well as subterfuge and pretense towards achieving their single objective of Eelam as every attempt at broadcasting their false propaganda has visibly projected. Correspondingly the question needs to be asked why the Government of Sri Lanka continues to provide what appears to be carte blanche for the LTTE terrorists towards their objectives and specifically that of Eelam where the need to eliminate any opposition towards their cause has resulted in the latest spate of killings in the North and North East where unarmed innocent civilians and security personnel dedicated to defending and safeguarding the Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity of Sri Lanka continue to pay the ultimate sacrifice while the President and his family celebrates the New Year with all the trimmings.What about the wailing mothers, wives and children left forlorn to suffer their own grief as their loved ones are mercilessly gunned down or blown apart?

It would in all probabilities be curious to find out where the Rajapakse Administration is really headed now? with the nod towards providing an armed escort and Government helicopters to these merciless killers rather than securing a means towards coralling them and eliminating them as any Sovereign Nation threatened by mendacious terrorists would normally be expected to do beyond capitulating to their ludicrously high handed demands and drawing ridicule from many quarters which firmly and unequivocally agree that the need to confront them is at hand! This given the fact that there are very capable additives towards boosting the Government's resources and resolve towards this objective and perhaps food for thought!

It is as some may see a euphemism beyond reality but one which comes at a time when all stops appear to be in need of being pulled and no retraint nor worthless dialogue appears to be forceful or fortuitous towards the required resolution.

This is not being said through Sinhala chauvinism or the intent to monger war and racial hatred but specifically to point out to an Administration which seems to be blinkered to the reality of the state of affairs in Sri Lanka today as viewed by many judicious and discerning analysts, that is is a blatant manifestation of continued killings and intimidations which have gone on for long enough and that it is fast becoming very apparent that the LTTE truly have no dedications towards peace and that the Peace Process one envisions in the perspective presented at this time is really going nowhere except towards forking out yet another huge slice of the Taxpayers money towards a contentious cause where accomplishing objectives of peace in its present perspective appear to be more of fantasy than reality while trusting the skulduggery of the monitoring team from Norway which is part of the problem towards the LTTE running amok in rabid dispensations of uncontrolled terror!

Despite many pointers logically to the reality that Norwegians involved with monitoring the Peace Process do indeed have a hidden agenda of multi faceted intentions where they continue to deceive and mislead the world and strengthen the idealogies of the LTTE terrorists notwithstanding their status as being condemned, proscribed and blacklisted as dangerous and fully armed terrorists by many western nations they have not been put down as an evil entity threatening the Security of a Sovereign Nation by the said Nation and its armed resources to which this as an imperative objective in dire need of resolution is the most important !!

Perhaps if a more hardline stance was taken by Colombo and the LTTE confronted effectively in order to secure the Nation in the most logical manner through military logistics, weaponry and fire power at the outset of the initial violation of the ceasefire with particular attention paid to the cause as a 'Faux Pas' at a time when the LTTE were also decimated and depleted by the Tsunami . Sri Lanka might have been the better off for it had the force of the tsunami and its devastations of the LTTE in Mullattivu and the entire terrorist plagued areas been supplemented by Security Forces Fire Power as a mopping up operation! A precious opportunity seems to have been missed where there might have been a relentless campaign against the LTTE with no holds barred nor any quarters asked or given where the Armed Forces need not have been restrained from carrying out the necessary course of actions required as it is believed they had the wherewithal towards Fait Accompli! where many precious lives might have been saved had the actions been initiated and the Nation in all probabilities would have been liberated from the scourge of the LTTE. By neglecting to implement this very important course of actions as harsh as it may sound the a golden opportunity perhaps missed and the related apathy in all probabilities interpreted by the LTTE as weakness!

The mandate given to the President by the Sri Lankan voters seems to have also been ursurped significantly whether inadvertently or not and the Administration more than likely missing out on a huge opportunity to deal with the LTTE effectively squandered by circumventing the wisdoms of the coalition partners the JVP and JHU whose recommendations have apparently been swept under the carpet as Sri Lanka once again teeters on the brink of confrontation with her enemies despite an outcome which may prove fortuituous in the long run and overall scheme of things if correct strategy is employed and all resources utilised!

The Administration once again seems to have somewhat sadly been caught napping through failure to interpret early warning signs of latent pretense by the LTTE and their well orchetrated theatrics as they continued to regroup and gather strength in a post 9/11 time frame where their transparencies were very apparent and Sri Lanka chose a path of conciliation and restraint in the face of the gravest provocations where only the lip service of would be Foreign Aid Donors and NGOs prevailed as a deterent towards the all important affirmative action where even this late in the game a show of millitary might, may not be such a bad idea! as the LTTE are a bunch of cowards who crawl into the undergrowth and bunkers when pursued by an entity with the power and capability to destroy them where the mainstay of their personnel and cadre now consists of women and children!

Surely this is a group of terrorists who need more than airlifting towards where they truly belong!
