The Foreign Minister And His Team Endorses The Means And Need To Rid Sri Lanka Of LTTE Terrorism!

The Nation of Sri Lanka must finally breathe a sigh of relief that newly appointed Foreign Minister is a man of dedication together with his well co-ordinated staff in his endorsement of Government Policy towards ridding Sri Lanka of the scourge of LTTE terrorism. Considering the means he has emphasized by way of Presidential backing, a very well equipped and resourceful Armed Forces and even the extraneous anti Prabhakaran pro active force of Karuna toward this objective.

Sri Lanka's measure of succes which can be anticipated beyond an ordinary measure of reasoning. It would be insurmountable in favour of the Nation's quest for a terrorist free environment and something which would be a very favourable manifestation for the Nation by way of total annihilation of the Wanni terrorists ere long.

The Foreign Minister has effectively disillusioned the recently cropped up brigade of pro LTTE pundits from a few corners of the globe reeking of Tami Diaspora where the essence of his logic was based on the simplest of arguments that there is no possible way to achieve peace when there is terrorism in a country.

Contrary to some who bemoan the multi faceted push by the SL Armed Forces towards eliminating the LTTE it has been made very clear that the Sri Lankan government was now being encouraged by many foreign sources and many areas of the the international community to root out terrorism in all its forms as they themselves would not tolerate terrorism in their country at all and that it was a legal entitlement of the Sri Lankan Administration.

In the face of all this there are many disturbing reports coming in from various parts of the world of the fund raising drives of the LTTE still hell bent on waging a final war of terrorism against the Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka.

One such report illustrates the bravado and affront of LTTE agents overseas who have attempted to coerce affluent individuals to mortgage their assets towards contributing a minimum of $ 50,000 in some Western countries. It is upto the administrations in these countries to tighten the screws around these operatives and bring them to justice while dismantling all known LTTE cells anywhere in the world in addition to what has already been done to this effect as a threat to world peace which is what all these activities of the LTTE are tantamount to and something intolerable!

There are continuing captures of arms toting terrorists, as well as effective search and destroy missions involving arms supplying vessels of the terrorists on the high seas by both the Sri Lanka and the Indian Government now getting involved in tighter security measures around the Bay of Bengal and other parts of the Indian shoreline, suspected areas used by the LTTE for their surreptitious activities.

The unshaking resourcefulness of the governments of both India and Sri Lanka need tp play a major role at this juncture of the LTTE terrorist issue as the combined effort would eventually see to it that there will not be a single LTTE terrorist standing towards imperiling the regional safety of South Asia as well as the surface area inhabited by the peace loving citizens of Sri Lanka.

It is very encouraging that India and Pakistan too are moving towards a peaceful settlement to their conflicts involving territoriall and ethnic divides which have continued for decades and a resolution of same would further ensure that the two nuclear powered neighbours of Sri Lanka to the South, whether as a combined force( somewhat unlikely) or separate entities would lend their resources and every possible means towards the elimination of the LTTE terrorists whose days would then be numbered beyond any speculation.

While Pakistan has always been supportive of Sri Lanka's war with the LTTE terrorists, India's track record in this area has been somewhat tardy and circumspect due to Tamil Nadu's divided views on the issue for obvious reasons and one hardly needs to emphasize the implications of the term'Tamil' and the relevant role it has played in the past towards this issue although in recent times there seems to be a favourable break in the clouds from Tamil Nadu that they are not exactly LTTE friendly anymore and rabid entities such as Vaiko are being effectively stfled with regards to their puerile LTTE favourable rhetoric!

In another encouraging development related to the LTTE terrorist issue there are many Sri Lankan Tamils in condemnation of the Prabhakaran led terrorists of the LTTE said to have have "voted with their feet."It is reported that some 54 per cent of Sri Lankan Tamils have exited the Tiger controlled North and are living peacefully with the rest of their compatriots in the South."

Those in the East are now enjoying a greater degree of freeedom after the cleanup operations of the Armed Forces which effectively laid waste the concept that there were LTTE controlled areas as such in the East beyond what they had relinquished in running for their lives shedding clothing as well as weaponry.

Inasfar as the so called " Tiger stronghold in the Wanni" is concerned it is now another mythical one only in the minds of the LTTE who have been boxed in perhaps to wage a last ditch battle where most of the North will also be in Government hands where even now many attempts by the cowardly LTTE terrorists to wage their hit and run attacks on government forces have either been severely limited or completely thwarted and perhaps in the very near future will be a thing of the past.

The Sri Lanka Foreign Ministry with its very capable new leadership and associates have indicated in no uncertain terms thatthe Government of Sri Lanka means business with the unrelenting terrorists of the LTTE indicative of overall Governmental policy of a no holds barred nature and there should be no impediments or deterrents towards pursuing the objective of wiping out the terrorists and every aspect of terrorism in Sri Lanka with all the military rersources available, any support from any affable foreign sources towards the cause beyond lip service and also with a litttle help from friends in the South who have already thrown in their input, who would also be doing themselves and the region a huge favour if the unrelenting LTTE terrorists are run aground
