Signs That the LTTE Are Sinking Into The Oblivion They Richly Deserve!
It has finally come to pass that the LTTE are being given their due recognition as unrelenting terrorists , unwilling to de-commission weapons, change their idealogies towards secession and are gradually sinking into the oblivion they richly deserve as mendacious terrorists with little or no credibility or any sympathy from areas of international recognition vital to their existence.
To further attest to this the European Union has finally decided to comprehensively outlaw them officially and now India has extended the same concession imposed on the tigers by continuing the proscription set in place after the Rajive Gandhi assassination, by another two years on the grounds that they pose a regional threat to all of south Asia of which their greater concerns dwell on India based upon the terrorist identity of the LTTE !
Finally the truth has dawned on the International Community that it needs to take positive affirmative action against the LTTE and that there is indeed just cause towards this. There is also the availability of viable alternatives to Tamil representation involving saner and more civilised entities with astute leadership in the offing rather than the primitive presence of the LTTE who continue to go about their attrocities as though they have impunity to do so by virtue of intimidation and criminality which is indeed not the case and has never been other than for the leeway of tolerance and conciliation granted by erring previous Sri Lankan administrations which capitulated to an unseen megalomaniac monster who directed operations from a jungle hideout creating a near comic book scenario of the extreme horror story type where he was unassailable due to the inefficiencies of those relegated to pursue him which are fast being compensated for by the new regime of Mahinda Rajapaksa with his no nonsene approach towards dealing with the LTTE who must in fact be surely on their way out!
On a very positive note the latest EU resolution to outlaw the LTTE indicates that a greater part of the Global Community no longer buys the theatrics and innuendo posed through pro LTTE propaganda and even as this resolve is being made into ratified law the LTTE continue to splutter under their breath that it would be "an escalation of war` their only verbal offer as a last hurrah perhaps! Their outpourings of condemnations towards their isolatiions by the Global Community seem to be an indication that they too probably see the writing on the wall realistically yet despondently that the decade old propaganda slogan that they are the sole representatives of the Tamils is tantamount to none but a mere myth and no longer holds much water!.
That the Tigers have never been the sole representative of the Tamil people by complete acceptance under any norms of freedom or democracy by virtue of their coercive and intimidatory terror tactics is a fact of life amongst many freedom loving Tamils a multitude of whom are now coming forward to acknowledge this fact! It is now being made manifest through the actions of the EU and India where the facts pointing to this are clearly visible as they have been compelled to take this stringent attitude towards non- tolerance in any way of the LTTE as a terror group to which the entire world should take notice!
Despit a few feeble protests from countries such as Norway to the contrary, which has a reputation for being pro-LTTE, the clarion call by the EU that the LTTE does not represent all theTamil people of Sri Lanka whilst exhorting them to consider the importance of political pluralism with alternate democraticTamil voices in the Tamil inhabited parts of Sri Lanka predominantly in the North and East of Sri Lanka which would secure the interests of all Sri Lankans as a whole rather than a divided sectarian entity, is probably an entreaty which falls on deaf ears but says it all for posterity and the well being of Sovereign Sri Lanka!
Remarkably the EU after much dalliance over the concept has rejected the sole representative claims of the LTTE as unacceptable based on case histories of many unfortunate victims of their attrocities who have testified to their vicious modus operandi which even extends across the globe by way of intimidations towards their cause which implicitly erases any thought towards accepting the self professed sole representative myth.
The LTTE through the ineptitude of their own spurious actions, have drawn attention to the very cryptic reality yet evident by way of importance towards the freedoms of the individuals concerned that the need for a different, non-Tiger representation is very real. Now comes the question of whether or not the non LTTE supportive faction can sustain all the pressures which will surely be imposed on them by the mainstream LTTE on their way out given their meanness and reluctance to let go of their misconceived beliefs of sole representation where the struggle could yet be tumultuous and the Government of Sri Lanka probably has a very positive role to play with a little help from friends!
The latest impositions on the LTTE by the EU and India bear rank testimony to this while it does not alienate the needs of the Tamil Community as secondary which has to remain a foremost priority of Administrative response towards the well being of all Sri Lankans which they are an essential part of. The LTTE have surely dug their own graves towards obliteration and extermination as objectionable vermin in a compassionate Nation of caring gentle people whose very existences they have ursurped in their crude attempts towards their own survival and in so doing albeit selfishly have almost denied the entitlements of the community they attempt to represent with very little incentives or a mandate to do so by virtue of their terrorist identity!
