A Resounding Routing By The Armed Forces Only Seems To Increase LTTE Innuendo And False Bravado!

Despite the resounding hammering the LTTE are taking at the hands of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces where even some of their own very realistically have admitted to SLAF superiority and firepower, some of their recalcitrant mouthpieces such as the verbosely obstinate and obstreperous SP Thamilselvam perhaps through frustration continue to mouth off about a non existent LTTE superiority which can only be dispelled and likened to the proverbial empty vessel making a lot of sound and no more.

There should alt least be some tangible evidence to back the claim by LTTE spokespersons that when the LTTE launches its "full scale war" the Sri Lankan Army will be defeated squarely which beyond being wishful thinking given the pellucid depictions of the running tigers in the wake of the firepower of the Army some falling like ninepins and in droves and others scampering with their tails between their legs into the verdant jungles of the Wanni tantamaounts to mere imagined melodrama towards bolstering their own depleted convictions of the impending defeat at hand!

Short of an eident dream befuddling the rationalities of these individuals who call themselves part of the LTTE political leadership the likes of these broadcasters of an" impending LTTE victory over the Sri lankan Armed Forces" probably are in need of psychiatric evaluation and should be dispelled as a motley bunch of rumor mongers whose rumors no more impress th world nor the Nation of Sri Lanka beyond the image of curs barking at a full moon as the Sri Lankan Armed Forces surely are taking charge of what may be the beginning of the overunning of the terrorist outfit permanently!

In either their usual false bravado or vapid frustrations the LTTE's political voice has proclaimed that " the government forces have intruded into Sampur and other areas and we are not taking them seriously" synonymously admitting that the LTTE have suffered severe defeats in their recent battles with the Sri Lankan Army but sounding almost like a motley bunch of schoolboys whose posteriors have been resoundingly kicked they continue to insist that they will recapture all those places including Sampur that fell into the hands of the Sri Lankan Army.

But the irony of it all is that the president in the meantime continues to talk moderation, tolerance and sends out olive branches to these devil's advocates instead of naming them as internationally condemned terrorists of no material worth to the world nor the nation of Sri lanka and launch an all out campaign to wipe them out before handing the reins of any devoluted or other power as the occassion demands to rational non rabid civilized Tamils whom the LTTE cannot claim as part of their supportive entourage despite their false and hollow rhetoric. A contingent of Tamils who deserve to be recognized as a dissociated group of law abiding Sri Lankan citizens and a part of legitimate mainstream Sri lankan society is known to be eagerly awaiting the obliteration of the mainstream Wanni terrorist tigers so that they can continue along with the rest of Sri Lanka their disrupted and displaced lives.

In sheer baseless audacity lacking any admission of the resounding beating they are presently taking or any humility of their trepidations and annihilations at the hands of the Armed Forces by way of honest unadultered portrayal of the truth, the LTTE through the vocal dispensations of Tamilselvan has indicated that "though it appears at present that the Sri Lankan army has the upper hand in the ongoing conflict, in reality that is not the true position. In the future we will take measures to recapture all those areas fallen in the hands of the Army," and perhaps time appropriate to call their bluff and press home an advantage never before experienced as in the present climate of retreating LTTE cadre which will never permit them to raise their morale in any way towards any advantage over the Armed Forces if any lessons have been learnt in the past.This however cannot be accomplished by leniency or complacency on the part of the Administration whose current approach to the terrorists could easily be misconstrued as a softening of the Governmental stance where history has proved how easily such an approach could backfire towards Govermental disadvantage and the tigers raise their tails again!

The LTTE have no privy nor entitlement through any legal means to suggest that the Mavilaru issue was a legitimate cause for the conflict between the LTTE and the Government forces to flare up which was however the initiating factor towards the Governmental strikes against them.To suggest that it was an issue involving a no-man’s land in an area not under anyone’s control seems a wasted effort where these terms rationally and essentially apply to a war between two nations in a territorial struggle and hardly constitute any acceptable norms in this instance where the conflict is between an insurgent group with no entitlements and the Armed Forces of a Sovereign Democratic Nation and the former in need of being put down by the latter in the best interests of the nation and the feedoms of its people!

While the reluctance on the part of the LTTE to admit that the Sri Lankan Army has indeed advanced into LTTE-controlled areas is understandable knowing their usual capacity to bury their head in the sand in the manner of the proverbial ostrich while dispelling everything aligned to reality that the Armed Forces have indeed made major territorial gains and inroads into previously occupied LTTE claimed areas, insisting as false that the Army had advanced only up to 400 to 500 meters from their Forward Defence Line prescribed in the Ceasefire Agreement is the greatest misconception the LTTE could ever create as Army Intelligence contradicts all of this and has pictorial and well documented evidence in support of contradicting the LTTE innuendo of denials.

To say that the Tigers long to reach a peaceful solution to issues confronting the Tamil people whom they' represent' perhaps fractionally also seems a wasted effort on their part as a majority of sensible Tamils want no part of a Prabhakaran led LTTE Tamil representation in any capacity let alone one involving their presence in any administrative capacity and a fact of life they need to come to terms with.They simply aren't Kosher in democratic Sri Lanka!

To say that the Sri Lankan Government was attempting to thwart all their moves and that it is absurd to speak about peace talks while there was a major hostility campaign going on in Sri Lanka, just so happens to be the single truism in the LTTE rhetoric and almost tantamount to a Freudian Slip!The Liberation Tigers are very definitely not in a position to consider entering into any talks if they do not fully represent the Tamil community and even if they do(which is far removed from thre truth) they need to align with the reality that they are fully armed unrelenting terrorists and ursurpers of the peace within Sri Lanka.It is they who need to devise an end to the hostilities unleashed on the government which includes the killing sprees and the internal displacement of vast numbers of civilians where talks and any negotiations towards posterity has to be done after all aspects of LTTE terrorism are expunged from Sri Lanka.

LTTE ' warnings' about when they would launch a full scale war against the Sri Lankan Army "who would be defeated squarely" according to their latest predictions seem somewhat laughable consequent to what the Armed Forces now have in store for them and after what they have inflicted on the LTTE provided the Leadership of the Nation does not pander to their bleatings and continues to treat them as an evil entity which the Nation needs to be completely rid of and there can be no preconditions nor predilections to any leniency towards this objective .

While distorting evidence is a hallmark of the LTTE and falsifying the truth another accompanying feature of their modus operandi linked to propaganda, they have once again come up with a compendium of blatantly concocted lies based upon innuendo hardly worth a second evaluation so whom are they trying to fool this time ? Neither the world nor the nation and as they meander onwards towards their eventual demise and perhaps of such are the exasperations of a defeated lot whose right to exist as a legal entity becomes more and more questionable and contentious where the Government of Sri Lanka should prioritise the need to rid the Nation of their unwelcome presence while restoring the rights of all its citizens imperiled by a terrorist entity presently even in theory as their effectiveness as a fighting force appears to be waning fast!
