Some Government Servants in Jaffna Working for TNA Racist Politics
- Kumar Moses
There was a big hullabaloo at the last general election about the ruling party misusing state property and government servants for its election work. Sadly this has always been a practice in the island. However, there is a bigger danger in the northern district of Jaffna where government servants are using their position, influence and power for political work not of the ruling party but of TNA. Not just this is a very dangerous development but also throwing a spanner in the works.  At the recent local government elections, postal voting results were not... -Full Story-

Notes on Buddhist Journalism—12 -An example of BJ at the global level
Commentary by Shelton A. Gunaratne, professor of mass communications emeritus at Minnesota State University Moorhead
The following story is an excellent example of process reporting. With some editorial touches, a journalist can convert it to Buddhist-oriented journalism (BJ). It does pass muster the principal BJ criterion of reducing or controlling dukkha (sorrow/ unsatisfactoriness).   I will comment on and analyze the story in parenthesis using the Four Noble Truths (FNT), Noble Eightfold Path (NEP) and the principle of dependent co-arising  (paticca samuppada) as my framework. Andrew Sheng wrote this 1,000-word essay for the Asia News Network. Sheng is the author... -Full Story-

What you should know about arsenic in Drinking water- the truth
Samarasinghe
Arsenic contamination is becoming an increasingly common problem not only in the developing world, but also in the most industrialised nations. Any urban water distribution system in Sri Lanka may contain arsenic in the pipe water. Well water may also contain high arsenic content depend upon the location and hardness of water. The content will not be known until proper tests are carried out. Bottled water is not necessarily any safer than tap water. Often, it is nothing more than tap water that may or may not have been filtered. Arsenic poisoning brings with it other complications: liver and... -Full Story-

An appeal to my Congressman on behalf of Sri Lanka
Anjalika Silva USA
Congressman Van Hollen, As one of your constituents originally a Sri Lankan and now a voting American, I was offended by the support given by Congress for screening a disputed piece of video sponsored by Channel 4 --"Killing Fields in Sri Lanka" which was not prevented by any quarter of the congress.  Your constituents and Sri Lankans who are offended by this kind of misrepresentation to discredit a sovereign nation prevailed on Congressman James McGovern.  His phone lines appeared to have been deliberately staffed by incompetent interns who gave us wrong contact information for him.... -Full Story-

Appraising the terrorist - A strategy doomed to failure
By  Paul Harris For the WAPS Conference, Oslo, August 20 2004
[Submitted by Hela Puwath:  This paper has been widely published in the past few years, but we believe we should re-read it as  a reminder to assess what has (not)changed since Paul Harris’ speech.  We are eternally grateful to our great leaders, and the brave Sinhela youth who gave their life to reclaim the only country we can call our own.  But we should be reminded that the danger still exists, in a different and more insidious form – Tamils backed by our former enemies in the... -Full Story-

July 30, 2011, 6:58 pm Mr. Senaka Weeraratne, Attorney-at-Law and Buddhist activist, has urged that a course in ``Animal Law and Ethics’’ be started at the Faculty of Law or the University of Colombo. He says in a letter to Mr. N. Selvakumaran, Dean of the Faculty of Law, that this is a field that law schools in developing countries such as Sri Lanka can no longer avoid or ignore. No votes or peace in appeasing West and Jaffna jingoism
H. L. D. Mahindapala
The most pragmatic solution to the Vadukoddai War waged relentlessly by the Tamil Tiger terrorists was prescribed by the London Times on August 10, 1995. (Please note the date). In a telling editorial it said: “The elimination of one man, Prabhakaran, could fashion a miraculous change in the island’s politics of conflict. An exhausted Tamil population, in the north and east of Sri Lanka, is in the evil grip of one man and his army of fanatics. Mrs. Kumaratunga must continue to try to liberate them, both by the force of arms and by the... -Full Story-

Terrorist violence: The Sri Lankan experience, Norway and New Zealand
New Zealand Society for Peace, Unity and Human Rights in Sri Lanka United Sri Lanka Association ( Auckland Branch)
At a recent session in the New Zealand Parliament, the Green MP Keith Locke vehemently opposed the Prime Minister John Key‘s rejection of the appeals of Tamil boat people, to come to New Zealand. Keith’s point was that it was against the New Zealand character to be so heartless to people who have probably experienced great tragedy in their lives and are fleeing ongoing persecution. Cables show NATO’s intervention in Libya is all about oil

The cables also refer to Libya’s “hydrocarbon producing potential” and the “high expectations” among international oil companies. According to a September 2009 cable, then acting head of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), Ali Sugheir, told the US Embassy that major “sedimentary basins with oil and gas resources had been discovered in Libya,” with seismic data indicating “much more remained to be discovered across the country.” The scramble by dozens of international oil and gas companies to cash in on the lifting of sanctions, however, soon produced the problems, in the words of a November 2007... -Full Story-

Dr Bandula Kothalawala London N7
C4 is determined to continue its crusade against Sri Lanka. Reinforcements have already been brought in with “two Sri Lankan soldiers” and an award-winning journalist – Marie Colvin – drafted in! It is not possible to assess the credibility of “the soldiers”, as they are portrayed as little more than nameless, faceless and voiceless ghosts. However, Marie is indeed a star witness. Chandrika Kumaratunga’s Bleeding Heart and its strange insensitivity to the anguish of the autochthons of Lanka.
chandrasoma rajapakse
In a recent lecture to the Westernized bourgeoisie of Colombo, the former President of our troubled country shed many a tear in reflecting on the sorrowful plight of the minorities dwelling therein. It was the hubris of the majority race and its unscrupulous exploitation by politicians - who placed political success before fairplay and moral rectitude - that led to the vast tragedies of recent memory. This was the pith and substance of her oration. That Sri Lanka passed through a period (now happily over) of violence, misery and political gerrymandering on a shameful scale cannot be... -Full Story-

The Right Way Forward!
Janaka Yagirala
The move to reduce the number of parliamentary seats of the Jaffna District from 10 to 6 is a commendable act done by the government. For those NGO pundits barking for the anti-national agenda (for western dollars!) who may start ranting about bogus “fairness” and “equality”, just consider this. In the 2004 General Election, the TNA got only 633,654 votes while the JHU got 554,076 votes. By Shelton A. Gunaratne © 2011 Professor of mass communications emeritus at Minnesota State University Moorhead
In the previous 10 essays in this series, I developed in considerable detail the reasons why a Buddhist-oriented Journalism should emerge in the cotemporary world to coincide with the impending collapse of the tottering capitalist system and the potential establishment of a more equitable world system that will reflect the Dhammic (Indian) and Daoic (Chinese) approaches, which will reduce dukkha (discontent) both individually and socially by recognizing craving (tanha/trsna) and the related conditional factors as the causes of dukkha. Great Power Insecurity and anomalous alliances - Why Hillary Clinton cozens the Fat Lady of Tamil Nadu

R Chandrasoma
It is an indubitable truth that the greater the power, the greater the fear of overthrow and dispossession. This is a characteristic feature of both individuals and nation-states. Following victories in the Second World War, the United States of America became a domineering super-power in a world that accepted its warrant as beyond challenge. The Soviet Union rose and fell but the might of the USA remained largely unfazed by the tumult in the world. July 27th 2011 The Tamil National Alliance(TNA) may have swept the board in Saturday’s local council elections in the North but have no entitlements to demand equality with the Government if this is what they are seeking. They have said that it would be impossible to reach a political solution and bring about lasting peace, justice and democracy in the North without the devolution of police and land powers and perhaps a modicum of attention might have been in order towards these requests had they not been once supportive of the LTTE as there is always the... -Full Story-

The US Secretary of State during her visit to Chennai is reported to have stated that the US is looking at "some innovative and creative ideas to break the impasse over the Sri Lankan Tamil issue". The idea explored thus far to break the impasse over the Sri Lankan Tamil issue since 1987 has been a political arrangement based on the Indian model in the form of the 13th Amendment. Democracy in Sri Lanka accepts the right for political parties to contest & people to vote for their choice but in reality governance will fall into one of two parties only. Notes on Buddhist Journalism—10-Comparing BJ news paradigm with alternative journalism forms that challenged the mainstream
By Shelton A. Gunaratne © 2011 Professor of mass communications emeritus at Minnesota State University Moorhead
The five elements in the mainstream/ Western news paradigm began to take shape in 19th century America. Penny papers emerged as a cheap source with coverage of crime, tragedy, adventure and gossip. The inverted pyramid structure of writing news became formalized after the Civil War (1861-1865). Partisan journalism gradually turned into more objective and balanced reporting as newspaper publishing became another business activity aimed at maximizing profits. The larger the circulation of a newspaper, the more advertising it attracted. Thus, the event-centered news values... -Full Story-

Libya: Time for NATO to disengage
Timofei Belov
Information from the ground in Libya is very clear. Here is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth: no conjecture, no myths and no propaganda. The fresh news, crystalline pure. No hype, no lies. Ladies and gentlemen, the corporate media have been lying about Libya. NATO's remit is to protect civilians from being attacked by the Libyan Armed Forces. There is not yet a shred of evidence that such was happening, indeed the evidence is that the terrorists who NATO is supporting perpetrated massacres (Google up Libya rebels + massacre) and then blamed them on... -Full Story-

We cannot see, touch or feel these invisible molecular forces that dominate our day to day life.
Dr Hector Perera     London
Ventilation This is a gift we have; with or without your knowledge we understand certain things only by smell but not the common dangerous killer, carbon monoxide. When we cook, methane gets combusted in oxygen to form carbon dioxide. If less air is available for burning methane, then it is possible to form carbon monoxide.  methane + oxygen -----> carbon monoxide + water. 2CH4(g)  + 3O2(g)  ------>     2CO(g)   +   4H2O(l) Carbon monoxide is a very poisonous gas. It cannot be seen or smelt. Faulty gas fires or boilers may produce carbon monoxide and poison the air in a room without anyone knowing. Every year, people die from carbon monoxide poisoning. According to an AFP report, a US congressional committee has voted to ban aid to Sri Lanka unless the nation shows "accountability" over the bloodshed in the final stages of its civil war in 2009. Of late, strangely enough, US legislators have developed an incurable obsession with a newfangled concept - accountability. Even stranger still is the fact that the novel concept appears to apply only to the meek and the weak in the world. NORWEGIAN MASSACRE SUSPECT LIKE THE TAMIL TIGERS USED FERTILIZER TO MAKE BOMBS
By Walter Jayawardhana in Los Angeles
Norwegian terrorist bombs that killed more than 90 people –mostly young summer vacationers in that country have been ironically made with fertilizer , a method popularized by Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka during the heyday of the LTTE terrorism in the Indian Ocean island nation. Norway has allegedly become a safe haven for the ex-Tamil terrorists but there is no indication that the most recent bombing incident is directly connected with the Tamil Tigers who allegedly received the sympathy of the ruling Labor Party of Norway. ICC Presidency
S.Senanayake
ICC president post is currently rotated among blocks of countries and Sri Lanka is paired with India. Bangladesh who is paired with Pakistan has objected to change of the policy at the recent ICC meeting until their turn begins. It is disappointing that a much newer member of the ICC is going to have the honour and the privilege of this post, Sri Lanka never had.  Will Sri Lanka ever be given an opportunity to hold the privilege in future by India when the rotation returns? Has the Sri Lankan boardmade a covert agreement with BCCI not to ever claim the post in... -Full Story-

Punishing Pakistan and Challenging China Pakistan in Pieces, Part 2
by Andrew Gavin Marshall
As Senator Obama became the President-elect Obama, his foreign policy strategy on Afghanistan was already being formed. In 2007, Obama took on veteran geostrategist and Jimmy Carter’s former National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski as one of his top foreign policy advisers,[1] and he remained his foreign policy adviser throughout 2008.[2] On Obama’s campaign, he announced that as President, he would scale down the war in Iraq, and focus the “War on Terror” on Afghanistan, promising “to send in about 10,000 more troops and to strike next-door Pakistan, if top terrorists are spotted there.”[3]... -Full Story-

Imperial Eye on Pakistan -Pakistan in Pieces, Part 1
by Andrew Gavin Marshall
As the purported assassination of Osama bin Laden has placed the focus on Pakistan, it is vital to assess the changing role of Pakistan in broad geostrategic terms, and in particular, of the changing American strategy toward Pakistan. The recently reported assassination was a propaganda ploy aimed at targeting Pakistan. To understand this, it is necessary to examine how America has, in recent years, altered its strategy in Pakistan in the direction of destabilization. In short, Pakistan is an American target. The reason: Pakistan’s growing military and strategic ties to China, America’s primary global strategic rival.... -Full Story-

It was a meeting destined to happen. On one hand there is the unethical practice, especially in financial markets, of misselling that is spreading like a cancer around the world and on the other hand there is the CPC laden with corrupt and incompetent officials. Those who love the nation cannot and shouldn’t keep silent over this. This is outright robbery of public funds. Now the default dues with interest stand at over US$300 million. The argument in Libya has been won by the Al Fateh revolution. There is now a glaring truth confronting the North Atlantic Terrorist Organization (NATO) – Muammar Qaddafi has handed out over one million kalashnikovs to the Libyan people. If he was the brutal dictator that NATO would have us believe him to be, then the armed population could have turned their guns on him and the revolutionary armed forces by now, especially as they would have NATO’s full backing if they did so. How to Share Your Faith with Buddhists
The gospel can be appealing to Buddhists if witnessing focuses on areas of personal need where the Buddhist belief system is weak.
Buddhists regard the United States as a prime mission field, and the number of Buddhists in this country is growing rapidly due to surges in Asian immigration, endorsement by celebrities such as Tina Turner and Richard Gere, and positive exposure in major movies such as Siddhartha, The Little Buddha, and What’s Love Got to Do with It? A roadway crammed with history: Jaapanaya (Jaffna)-Athuruvaella (Atchuvel)-Vakthuduva (Point Pedro)
Chandre Dharmawardana
A new item carried in several  newspapers (12-July-2011) says that the "Jaffna-Atchuveli-Point Pedro route was re-opened to the public yesterday after 28 years. It was closed for general traffic from 1983 after terrorists destroyed the Thondaman Aru bridge." The Thondaman referred to in "Thondaman-aru" was Karunagaran Thondaman, a Chola minister who explored the possibility of exporting salt from North Sri Lanka to the Chola Kingdom. Most people are aware that the name "Jaa-panaya" originally signified the Javanese village that came into being after Chandrabhanu  a Javanese ruler from Tambralinga invaded Sri Lanka in the 13th Century CE.... -Full Story-

What is this Power Crisis?
THE MEDIA TEAM
Background
With the commencement of the Lakwijaya power station in early 2011 power generation capacity was lifted to a higher level like never before in Sri Lanka. Accordingly the installed capacity of the power plants is now increased to 2700 MW. Currently the peak power load in the country is less that 2000MW. Therefore taking the installed capacity of power plants into consideration there cannot be a shortage of power. At the beginning of 2011 there was ample water in the reservoirs in the catchments areas. During the first three months adequate rain was... -Full Story-

Sources in Libya state that negotiations are ongoing with France and meanwhile there has been a cessation of hostilities. The beleaguered people of Libya have every reason to celebrate this situation, if it holds. The sources used in this article are reliable and are based inside Libya. If after reading and seeing this, you see that NATO is indeed wrong and see for yourself that the "rebels" are not unarmed civilians, do something. See for yourself in this documentary, filmed by Flavio Signore and Leonor Massanet in Libya recently and passed to Pravda.Ru, what the Libyan "rebels" are and ask yourselves if these are unarmed civilians being attacked by government forces. The NATO-led intervention in Libya and the unrest in Syria are both steps in a decades-long plan by the US and its allies to completely reshape the face of Africa, believes independent journalist and peace activist Thierry Maysan.“It’s quite obvious that the USA wanted to enter war at the same time with Libya and Syria. ‘Libyan solution is taking shape’
Tripoli - Emissaries from Libya's Muammar Gaddafi have been in contact with Nato members to say he is ready to leave power, France said on Tuesday, the latest sign of a possible negotiated end to the crisis. “A political solution is more than ever indispensable and is beginning to take shape,” French Prime Minister Francois Fillon said in Paris. Wars are evil exercises that must be avoided at any cost. But history tells us that wars are also unavoidable. From time to time, wars occur to win over-ambitious goals going beyond established political and territorial borders or to eliminate or neutralize enemies that threaten national interests. This is the short term goal of wars. The long-term objective of wars is to define and reinforce national identities, boundaries and values. The Sri Lankan government launched a counter-terrorist war to reinforce the national identity, territorial boundaries and the democratic political values. Notes on Buddhist Journalism—6-Buddhism, Daoism and Confucianism intermingle to produce basic elements of a non-Western news paradigm
By Shelton A. Gunaratne© 2011 Professor of mass communications emeritus at  Minnesota State University Moorhead
I begin this essay with an attempt to document how Buddhism itself experienced the three features of existence—anicca (impermanence), anatta (no self/interdependence) and dukkha (unsatisfactoriness)—over the last 20 centuries from the time of its introduction to China in the 1st century. To do so, I examine Buddhism as a force that became interdependent, interconnected and interactive with Confucianism and Daoism, the two major thought patterns, as well as the minor ones like Mohism and Legalism, prevalent in China. Confucianism v Buddhism
Confucianism was based... -Full Story-

Transparency, the nagging irritant, pivotal for democracy
By Philip Fernando
Transparency in a democracy invokes the people’s right to see and know how public business gets transacted in their name. None dare dent that sacrosanct public mould even though the inclination to dismiss it as a nagging irritant surfaces with recurring frequency in many parts of the world.  That said, transparency faces periodical setbacks beyond the "pesky feel" politicians have for the subject due to underlying causes that deserve wider review as examined below. The subject dominates three of the major economies of the world—USA, China and India—each with their distinct local flavor.   The post-9/11... -Full Story-

After the ABC Four Corners, even the Sinhalese people living in Australia have murmured to the other “why did our Army commit such atrocities”. This shows the success of the Channel 4’s deception. We say that some scenes of the film had been shot with actors (and they are fine actors indeed). Most likely, some... -Full Story-

LETTER TO ABC ON FOUR CORNERS PROGRAM BROADCAST OF CHANNEL 4 VEDEO TITLED KILLING FIELDS OF SRI LANKA
JANAKI CHANDRARATNA PERTH, AUSTRALIA
I watched with great frustration and disappointment the manner in which the Channel 4 video titled ‘Killing Fields of Sri Lanka’, relayed in the ABC Four Corner’s Program on 4 July 2011. My deep concern was that a veteran journalist like Kerry O’Brien chose to relay the program knowing very well that the video was controversial, biased, unauthenticated and its credibility is under investigation by the British Media Regulatory Authority. Also, several Sri Lankans including the High Commissioner had presented reasons as to why the video should not be relayed. Not only did the video... -Full Story-

Torture crimes officially, permanently shielded
By Glenn Greenwald
In August, 2009, Attorney General Eric Holder -- under continuous, aggressive prodding by the Obama White House -- announced that three categories of individuals responsible for Bush-era torture crimes would be fully immunized from any form of criminal investigation and prosecution: (1) Bush officials who ordered the torture (Bush, Cheney, Rice, Powell, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld); (2) Bush lawyers who legally approved it (Yoo, Bybee, Levin), and (3) those in the CIA and the military who tortured within the confines of the permission slips they were given by those officials and lawyers (i.e., "good-faith" torturers). We've Attacked Libya With $368 Million Worth of Bombs
The Pentagon is asking Congress if it can move money around in its budget to replace the spent ordnance Before the Senate cancelled its vote on the war in Libya, having decided that it's more important to focus on budget negotiations, Republican Richard Lugar of Indiana gave a 25-minute speech excoriating the Obama Administration. "Defining these actions as something less than hostilities requires extraordinary legal contortion," he said. "The fact that we are leaving most of the shooting to other nations does not mean that the United States is not involved in acts of war." One Third of Libya Turns Out to Support Qaddafi in World Largest March Ever
Mathaba Independent News Agency
1.7 million people, or around 95% of the population of Tripoli, one third of the entire population of Libya, have turned out in perhaps the largest demonstration ever in world history last Friday, to demand an end to the NATO bombings of Libya. The entire premise of NATO bombing Libya, in fulfilment of George Orwell's 1984 "War Is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength" slogan, has been that Colonel Qaddafi is attacking the Libyan population. First this was shown to be a lie when the Russian military, for the first time publicly displayed video footage... -Full Story-

US House votes to bar military aid to Libyan rebels
WASHINGTON (AFP) – The US House of Representatives voted Thursday to forbid the Pentagon from providing military equipment, training, advice or support to Libya's rebels. By a 225-201 margin, lawmakers debating an annual Pentagon spending bill adopted an amendment restricting Washington's ability to help fighters looking to overthrow longtime Libyan strongman Moamer Kadhafi. Republican Representative Tom Cole of Oklahoma introduced the measure at a time when many US lawmakers have expressed anger at President Barack Obama's handling of the conflict, which is unpopular with the US public.... -Full Story- (old.news.yahoo.com - 07/07/11)

This is the proper yardstick to measure all action, demands and aspirations individuals and groups engage in. Where does Sanga stand in this continuum? Notes on Buddhist Journalism—5-Buddhism bridges gap between ‘Hindu’ and ‘Sinic’ philosophies
By Shelton A. Gunaratne© 2011 Professor of mass communications emeritus at Minnesota State University Moorhead
In this essay, I argue that Buddhism is the link that unites India’s  “Hinduism” (Sanātana Dharma) with Sinic philosophies. “Hinduism” was a label that the foreigners used to describe several streams of thought that were native to India dating back to well before 6500 BCE, when the Rig Veda, believed to be the earliest scriptures, was composed. It’s best defined as a way of life indigenous to India, rather than a religion, based on the teachings of ancient sages and scriptures like the four Vedas—Rigveda,... -Full Story-

UN War Casualty Figure is Made Up of Annihilated Tiger Brigades

Casualties of the final phase of the war vary from 7,000 to 150,000 depending on who is giving away the numbers. But the West will never get what they want, he added. “Many countries, Iran and North Korea are among them, told us it was our mistake to give up, to have stopped developing long-range missiles and to become friendly with the West. Our example means one should never trust the West and should always be on alert – for them it is fine to change their mind overnight... -Full Story-

Africa may ignore Gaddafi warrant
The African Union has called on its member states to disregard the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court against Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, a move that could weaken the ability of the world court to hold the Libyan leader accountable for crimes committed against his people. SA lawfirm helps Gaddafi
The International Criminal Court did not have the jurisdiction to prosecute Muammar Gaddafi, a South African law firm claiming to represent the Libyan leader said late Friday. "The Libyan Arab Jamahiriya never signed or ratified the international treaty establishing the International Criminal Court," and therefore the treaty and the court did not apply to Libya, said a statement issued by Langa Attorneys in Johannesburg and Rome and sent to AFP in The Hague, where the court is based.... -Full Story- (news.iafrica.com - 02/07/11)

The African Union's framework agreement on a political solution to the crisis in Libya took Africa one step towards a political solution in that country, president Jacob Zuma said on Saturday. The role of the AU in bringing a solution to the crisis in Libya was “matter of fact”, Zuma said in a statement. Libya: Unending American Hostility-The Anti-Empire Report
by William Blum
If I could publicly ask our beloved president one question, it would be this: “Mr. President, in your short time in office you’ve waged war against six countries — Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen and Libya. This makes me wonder something. With all due respect: what is wrong with you?” The American media has done its best to dismiss or ignore Libyan charges that NATO/US missiles have been killing civilians (the people they’re supposedly protecting), at least up until the recent bombing “error” that was too blatant to be covered up. But who in the mainstream media... -Full Story-

Over looking NATO’s Killing Fields in Libya, UN warns Sri Lanka of action in absence of probe.
By Charles.S.Perera
It is strange that  an ineffective UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon , submissive to the “powerful” , who lacked imagination to seek for the UNO an independent path of excellence in dispute management of its Member States, is being propelled back into the seat of  leadership for a second period.  The coming years promise yet another period  of UNO’s descent into another insignificant period of existence as an Organization expected to maintain peace in the world , but incapable to negotiate to stop political confrontations between Member States, stop interference by the powerful Member States into... -Full Story-

Could The UN Human Rights Chief Navi Pillai Be Overplaying Her Role As She Continues To Intimidate The Sri Lankan Administration.
In Retrospect By Sarath Kumara
1st July 2011 It is becoming more and more obvious that despite all the credible responses by qualified analysts who have examined the 'evidence' presented towards accusing the Sri Lanka administration of human rights violations and war crimes none of it would ever hold up in any court of law as the tell tale characteristics pointing to the possibility that they were indeed fixed and doctored to suit the accusers objectives attests to skullduggery. While their conclusions alone are sufficient to discredit and trash it! yet the UN's Human Rights chief Ms Navi Pillai's... -Full Story-

By, Claude Fernando ,Brampton, Canada
I still remember that mournful day. It’s  my daily routine to listen to the news aired by SLBC.(National radio). The  particular day was  Feb.16th 1988. I had an  curiosity, why the news reading was put on hold. Out of the blue another familiar voice broke the stillness. He Premakirthi De Alwis, who made a most sorrowful ,heart-breaking  announcement to the whole... -Full Story-
