Putin orders ‘combat readiness’ tests for western, central Russian troops
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered an urgent military drill to test the combat readiness of the armed forces across western and central Russia. Confusion on how to categorize Sri Lanka’s conflict has a direct bearing on how the issue of accountability is handled. What I saw just yesterday on Galle Road Wellawatte prompted me to write this piece. In late 80s a world renowned Consultant from UK ( if I remember correctly it was WS Atkins) was in charge of the rehabilitation of Galle Road and they did a splendid job by sticking to international standards and also managing the construction work well without inconveniencing the public too much.
