Swelling Wave of Discontent
Posted on July 12th, 2015

The nation is in crisis and the people have woken up to the dangers that are staring them in the face. The Nation State of Sri Lanka is being remorselessly dismantled to be replaced by several apartheid States, based on ethnicity.

With the swelling wave of discontent sweeping through the length and breadth of the country disillusioned UNPers are voting across party lines; they are urging others to follow suit and eschew voting for the UNP at this coming General Election; this is vital, they say, because of the brazenly anti Sri Lankan attitude of the present UNP leadership running diabolically counter to the National Security of the country; it is an attitude definitely not shared by the majority of the UNP supporters.

The Janus – faced actions of a perfidious Ranil Wickramasinghe leadership have given rise to events – now beginning to surface – which give the lie to their previous denials that they pledged secretly to India and the US to take action which would perforce lead to the break up of the country, for a mere mess of pottage of coming into power.

The disenchanted say that to vote UNP or any one associated with them is, to endorse the break up of the Sri Lankan Nation State, to rubber stamp the creation of independent apartheid states within the island, to sacrifice Sri Lankan soldiers to American ‘Ferguson’ style justice by indicting them in ‘hybrid’ war crime tribunals, the creation of which has already been initiated by a controversial FGO (Foreign Government Organisation)  and to give WETOs (Western Extremists of Tamil Origin) dual citizenship, after the planned terrorist jamboree in Sri Lanka at year’s end.

‘Hybrid’ courts are a US manipulation of infiltrating the country’s judicial system whereby Western handpicked foreign judges sit on the bench alongside Sri Lankan judges at Sri Lankan tribunals ‘teaching’ them to interpret International law.

UNP grass rooters are entreating everyone to join the’ Save Sri Lanka’ movement by refraining from voting for anyone associated with the UNP and thereby not having to regret for 200 years the ‘Indian –American’  folly of 2015 like Sri Lankans yet do the ‘British folly’ of 1815.

A Geo-Political Analysis of Sri Lanka 2015 – (Part 1)

by Sarojini Dutt

Indian – American intelligence reported that 08 Jan 15 would provide the Indian – American axis a window of opportunity to dent the influence of China -Sri Lanka’s trusted friend – in the island Nation and in the immediate region.

Having unstintingly assisted Sri Lanka in her war against the US backed terrorists,  China took on the magnanimous role of implementing a ‘Marshal Plan’ in the war ravaged island much to the chagrin of India (the regional power) and the US that has to now share the global stage with China in the newly shaped bi – polar world.

The Indian US axis realised that if they could defeat Rajapakse at the Presidential Election on 08 Jan 15 they, the axis, could dent China’s influence on the island and in the region. With this end in view the Indian – US axis having made it extravagantly attractive for some members of the contrived opposition invested all their resources to defeat Rajapakse by a narrow margin of 224536 voters or 1.83% of those who voted.

Following the annihilation of the US backed terrorists at Nandikadal in May 2009 Sri Lanka’s friendship with China grew exponentially warmer and stronger. Sri Lanka could never forget that it was China that did not hesitate to pull out all stops to unconditionally assist Sri Lanka in her hour of need in eradicating the curse of terrorism.

When the Western countries slapped an unwarranted arms embargo on SL to stop SL’s military offensive against the terrorists, it was China and a few other genuinely friendly countries that flew in the face of the embargo caring a rap about the global bully.

The Western countries frustrated by their lack of success in forcing Sri Lanka to grovel at the feet of the terrorists then attempted, with the same objective in mind, to have military and economic sanctions imposed on the island nation through the UN Security Council; it was once again Sri Lanka’s friend and ally, China, that stood tall and unbending, using its Veto power at the Security Council.

Blocked at all turns to contrive a lasting victory for the terrorists the US then attempted in desperation in Feb 2009 at the height of the anti terrorist offensive to scrunch Sri Lanka by depriving her of a lifesaving USD 1.9 Billion loan from the IMF.

With China standing solidly behind Sri Lanka that attempt too failed; the toxic currency of the US, soiled by a US sovereign debt of 19 trillion dollars eased by printing $4.5 trillion dollar notes, was no match to the solid Chinese Yuan.

This was just before that second generation Polish migrant – boy to Britain, David Miliband, made a clumsy attempt to browbeat Sri Lanka to stop the military offensive against the terrorists and was told to take a running jump to the Indian Ocean.

Unquestionably, China played a major role in counterpoising US attempts to manipulate the terrorists into a position of strength and recognition Vis – a – Vis Sri Lanka and globally.

With the decimation of the terrorists and their leaders at the battle of Nandikadal the US lost its ‘proxy’ capability to wage war against Sri Lanka, a military capability they had possessed for nearly 30 years.

Incapable of carrying on a military offensive in the fashion it had done for three decades the US did a la Clausewitz change when it switched from a military battle arena offensive to the ‘diplomatic’ battle arena offensive, their objective remaining unchanged.

The diplomatic war took the shape of an information war targeting primarily the minds of the Sri Lankans. The US objective in the mind war was Winning the peace after losing the war”.

In the battle for the Sri Lankan mind, Sri Lanka’s enemy for 30 years, the US, sold its objective to the Sri Lankan mind by ‘advising’ Sri Lankans on ‘How to win the peace after winning the war’. The Sri Lankans swallowed the bait of their enemy hook line and sinker and the result was 08 Jan 15.

This was one area where the Sri Lankan government was underprepared; the government failed to realise that although they had vanquished the enemy militarily the enemy had adroitly changed the format of the war from force of arms to diplomacy; as Clausewitz would say, war by other means.

The US spared no money to bankroll the changed war whereas Sri Lanka was slow to grasp, respond and reallocate funds for the information war.

In Sri Lanka’s failure to grasp that subtle change in the war situation that had taken place after its glorious military victory at Nandikadal lay the primary answer to the narrow defeat the Rajapakse government suffered in Jan 2015; the government was underprepared and ill equipped to fight the war continued by the US in a new theatre of operations.

The US had a field day and their big guns in the mind war were the FGOs.

Ranil Wickremesinghe promises devolution of power to provinces

    ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

July 11 (Hindu) Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today promised power devolution to the islands provinces as part of the reconciliation process with the minority Tamils ahead of the August 17 parliamentary election.

His government would look to devolve power in an undivided island, Wickremesinghe said.

The Tamil minority has been urging for power to the north and east provinces since the LTTE’s military campaign ended in 2009.

The premier said the private lands acquired for military purposes in the former conflict zones will be returned to their owners after the election.

Wickremesinghe made the remarks — being seen as his first policy statement for the polls — while addressing his United National Party (UNP) special convention which adopted a resolution to work as a broader political front to pursue good governance and democracy.

The convention of the UNP, that was President Maithripala Sirisena’s main backer in the January presidential election, came after his decision this week to allow former President Mahinda Rajapaksa to run for the August 17 election from his party.

Sirisena, who branded Rajapaksa as a corrupt leader and resisted calls to allow him back, has also agreed to give party tickets for all Rajapaksa loyalists who face corruption charges.

The decision shocked the UNP and Sirisena’s civil society allies, who blamed Sirisena for betraying the cause for good governance.

Angered by his decision to bring back Rajapaksa, a Sirisena loyalist Rajitha Senaratne said a group of them were leaving him and would align with the UNP to contest the election.

“We can’t get on the same platform with corrupt and murderous elements. So we have decided to join UNP’s front for good governance,” Senaratne said.

Arjuna Ranatunga, the former world cup winning cricket captain and a key Sirisena ally in the January election, is also said to be contemplating a move to leave Sirisena and join the UNP front.

Anti-Rajapaksa Front Formed With Sirisena’s Tacit Consent

    ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

July 11 (NIE) COLOMBO- To prevent former Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa from coming back to power through the August 17 parliamentary elections, anti-Rajapaksa forces have formed a common front with the tacit consent and blessings of Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena.

The United National Front for Good Governance (UNFGG) led by the United National Party (UNP) will be inaugurated at Temple Trees, the office of the UNP leader and Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Sunday.

The UNFGG has the blessings of President Sirisena, according to Saman Athaudahetti of the Lankan Prime Minister’s office.

Athaudahetti told Express that Sirisena’s followers in the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the United Peoples’ Freedom Alliance (UPFA), met the President late on Friday and told him about their plans to join a UNP-led front to oppose Rajapaksa who had been given an UPFA ticket to fight the election against Sirisena’s wishes.

Sirisena and his supporters had quit the SLFP and UPFA ahead of the January 8 Lankan Presidential election and ousted Rajapaksa from the Presidency unleashing a massive campaign against his corrupt and authoritarian regime.

When Sirisena confessed to his followers that he was isolated in the party and could not refuse tickets to Rajapaksa and his cohorts, his followers said that they are quitting to join other anti-Rajapaksa groups. Sirisena then said that they were free to go, and added that he was with them. “They have his blessings,” Athaudahetti said.

President Sirisena is expected to make a statement after the nominations close on July 13, in which he is expected to ask voters to choose non-corrupt and non-authoritarian candidates as per the political parties’ pledge taken on March 12.

Though it will be a “non-partisan” appeal from a “neutral” President, it will, in effect, be a signal to the people to prevent a Rajapaksa comeback. In a telling statement recently, Sirisena had warned that those who misuse public funds will be born as dogs in their next birth.

Sirisena’s chief lieutenant and cabinet spokesman, Rajitha Senaratne, said that he will contest as a candidate of the UNFGG. He also said that the Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU), will be part of the UNFGG. The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) and the Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) are already part of UNFGG. Rishad Bathiyutheen’s All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) is likely to join the anti-Rajapaksa grouping. The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) is expected to give the UNFGG support from outside.

Among other prominent leaders to join, will be the founder of the Good Governance Movement, Ven. Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero; Pivithuru Hetak National Movement leader Ven.Athuraliya Rathana Thero, and 10 to 12 MPs from the SLFP. Forty nine civil society organizations and breakaway groups from the Lanka Sama Samaja Party and the Communist Party are also expected to support the UNFGG.

    Line Up And Issues

The line up for the August 17 parliamentary elections will be more or less the same as it was for the January 8 Presidential elections and the issues will also be the same.

While the UNFGG will play on the people’s fears about the return of Rajapaksa’s corrupt and dictatorial regime, Rajapaksa will tout his achievements in fighting terrorism, giving an effective government and putting the country on the path to development.

MOU to establish new anti-Rajapaksa front to be signed tomorrow

In what ever format USA couldn’t do much with out the help of treacherous India which itself finds unble to dictate terms to a real leader like MR.

How much they fear China was seen by the way their ‘podian’ Ranil treated china in his brief pickpocket PM stint.
Green blooded UNPers voted for Mahinda in 2010 to save the country from a US plot to establish a military dictatorship in this country. Like wise now it is up to them to join hands again to save the country from the US designs.

As for the diplomatic war waged in Geneva,I think it is time for Sri Lanka to call the US bluff. They know that the best they can achive through UNHRC process is only US economic sanctions and not UN sacntions for which UN security council approval is needed.
To use US sanctions against such a small country is itself an insult to a country with a swollen ego like US and they are trying use the threat of sanctions to gain what ever they want without really using sanctions.
US sanctions on the other hand is a blunt ineffective tool proven time and again against Cuba, Iraq, Libiya, Iran and Russia.
There is no denying that we may have to undergo some hardships but the alternative will definitely be harsher.

Recently someone green with envy had phoned up a once powerful madam that her latest protégé was having a good time with a beauty in a luxury apartment in the city. Enraged by this disturbing news, the madam had gate-crashed the apartment and found the couple honeymooning inside. Thereupon, the madam had castigated the politico using some choice words and had also come out with some sordid details from his family history as well. Not content with the tongue-lashing, she boxed his ears hard several times! “I put you in charge of an important constituency because of the trust I placed in you. Remember if you don’t stop this kind of dirty affairs, you will not get nomination either,” was her parting warning.

This Indian Imperialist very well know what India is up to when it comes to the Indian Colonies. India got Mauritius another Indian State. There are plenty of Indian vermin in the US to dictate what US to do in the Indian Pond as Indian Empire see it .

Sarojini Dutt is talking sacred bull dust. Sarojini please read this:

How it happened? Another Indian job. The former President called an early election. The Indian imperialists (India) were ready to correct its mistake in 2005 when it backed Mahinda Rajapaksa over Ranil Wickramasinge. Then, Indian imperialists advised Indian block vote in the island to abstain from voting. The reason for the preference was Indian imperialists thought it will be easier to negotiate with Mahinda an unknown matter for India. Unfortunately for India, Mahinda did not follow Indian directions as former Sri Lankan leaders did since 1956. In 2010 India enrolled General Sarath Fonseka as a presidential candidate against Mahinda and failed. So behind the scene as Indian imperialist always do they were planning for years and got former governor Chandrika Bandaranayake-Kumaranatunge to do the job and succeeded with doing a repeat of what India did with her father Solomon West Ridgeway Dias Bandaranayake in 1951. India did not have to wait for four year this time. India managed to divide the non-Indian vote and got the Indian block vote for Maithripala Sirisena the new governor of Sri Lanka who may be the proxy for the real governor Chandrika.

10 Ex-LTTE Cadre Crusading for Democrazy TODAY, will take up ARMS for a Tamil National Alliance TOMORROW!

The “rejection” by the TNA is just an ELECTION GUNDU to FOOL the Sinhalese!

    ……………………………..
10 Ex-LTTE Cadre Vying For Seats In Jaffna-Kilinochchi Electoral District

July 11 (NIE) COLOMBO- Crusaders for Democracy (CFD), an organization of ex-LTTE cadre and their supporters, will be putting up ten former militants in the Jaffna-Kilinochchi electoral district for the August 17 Sri Lankan parliamentary elections, CFD coordinator N.Vithyatharan told Express on Saturday.

Following the rejection of their applications by the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), the most popular party in the Tamil-speaking areas of Northern and Eastern Lanka, CFD decided to put its candidates up as Independents, Vithyatharan said. Their nominations will be filed on Sunday.

Asked why the CFD is not fielding candidates in the other districts of the North and East, Vithyatharan said that he had been told that fielding them might bring down the Tamils’ overall representation in parliament.

Earlier, the TNA had rejected the ex-militants’ applications on several grounds.

“Firstly, the applications had arrived too late. Secondly, TNA’s association with ex-LTTE personnel at this juncture will lead to the Mahinda Rajapaksa camp indulging in destructive propaganda against the TNA, dubbing it as a front of the LTTE. At a time when the TNA is trying to find a solution to the Tamil question with domestic and international support, any such propaganda will vitiate such efforts,” said M.A.Sumanthiran, former TNA MP.

Sumanthiran also said that the TNA wanted time to study the antecedents of the LTTE militants in question because there was a rumor that the group had been put up by sections of the Lankan military intelligence which are sympathetic to Rajapaksa.

“Once we are satisfied with the antecedents of an ex-militant, we can give him a ticket, but this can happen only in the case of future elections, not this one,” Sumanthiran said.

TNA Spokesman Suresh Premachandran said that some inquiries were conducted and it was found that the antecedents of the militants in question were shrouded in mystery. He also said that jailed and released LTTE cadre had to give an undertaking to the government that they will not participate in politics.

Meanwhile, A.Ravindra alias Rupan, a former political leader of the LTTE in Trincomalee District whose application was not entertained, issued a press release saying that he had applied even before parliament was dissolved and had handed his application directly to TNA leader Mavai Senathirajah, but got no reply.

Rupan complained that though TNA leaders talk a lot about ex-militants’ right to lead normal lives, they do not visit jailed militants or enquire after their welfare after release.

  9. Metteyya_Brahmana Says:

The facts in this article are 100% correct but too complicated for the average Sri Lankan voter.

Mahinda and the UPFA need to keep it simple by focusing on two types of voters: (1) security-separatism-econ development to hold on to the 5.8 million voters Mahinda won in January, AND (2) lack of good governance of the UNP-led government to win over the 2 million ‘good governance’ Maithripala voters. Trying to get significant numbers (more than 25%) of minorities and UNP voters is waste of time.

Hammer away at BOTH of these themes (security- racial separatism – development AND lack of UNP good governance) in an effective way and Mahinda and the UPFA win this.

The best approach for the lack of good governance theme is have a VIDEO news interview of the Central Bank staff that testified to Mahendran’s DIRECT involvement (coming into the trading room, reviewing the bidding list, and directing the staff to accept bids to the EXACT amount of his nephew’s bid) in the bond issuance to his nephew in the COPE report, which will make Ranil’s so-called ‘independent’ committee of UNP loyalists who found “no DIRECT involvement” look like an absolute joke and part of a COVER-UP to a serious crime. Run this VIDEO over and over again in campaign ads on TV from now until August 17th, and this election is OVER!

IMMEDIATELY after Run-nil BLASTED My3 for giving nominations to MR, My3 snapped back the PRESS COUNCIL to TAME the UNP controlled media. Although he looks LAME, he is not. He is very revengeful which is not bad.
