Ambassador Robert O Blake
Assistant State Secretary of State,  South and Central  Asia
US State Department , Washington DC, US

Dear Bob:

I have just read the Colombopage news item which says “Sri Lanka election results open way for President to unify the country, U.S. official says”.  The U.S. official happens to be you as the former Ambassador to Colombo who happened to say that “Sri Lankan Government now has an important opportunity to make progress on the issues of reconciliation, power sharing, and accountability.”

You know Bob, this past election results were achieved through a democratic process and people elected President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his UPFA (United Peoples Freedom Alliance) having studied their manifesto (Mahinda Chintana Idiri Dekma) and putting their ballots into ballot boxes having placed a cross against their party.  What you have to remember is that they were elected not to deliver on the communalist manifestos of the opposition parties which include the TNA.  Power sharing with the Tamils? I am not sure whether that was in the  UPFA manifesto as a priority at all that the people voted for.  So just don’t push yourself on Sri Lanka, as what the ordinary citizen is going to ask President Mahinda Rajapaksa is, “Sir, who the hell is this Yankee who is trying to tell you what to do for us?”  That is a reality check for you Bob.

“ƒ”¹…”Development’ was the main priority and thrust of the UPFA manifesto and your “Hail Mary!” two cents  worth of “unifying the country“ will surely be well looked after through “development”   recognizing the island’s make up of  the multi-ethnic  character of its peoples – race, class, caste and religions, you name it.   And that will include the Tamils with their fractious caste system and religions, if that  is the ethnic group that you are specifically concerned about.

“Accountability“, you pointed out in your statement.  Sure, that is exactly what Mahinda Rajapaksa and his UPFA will have to accomplish.  Accountable to the people who voted for them after studying their manifesto.  “Power sharing”, I am not sure was one of it that they have to worry about.  So, Bob, stop pushing the American agenda on the Sri Lankans.

What the UPFA manifesto surely means is that the island will not be dissected into two or three whether you dopey Americans would like it to happen, and support the Tamils who want it to happen as you did before engaging in Tamil Tiger politics before that terrorist outfit was wiped out militarily on May 18, 2009.

Bob, I doubt you Americans really wanted Sri Lanka to develop or else you and Hillary Clinton wouldn’t have made an effort to stop/delay the IMF loan for Sri Lanka.  Remember?   That was brutal acting like a God  and a Goddess wanting to decide on the destiny of the Sri Lankans.

We all know how the International Monetary Fund defended a $2.6 billion loan to Sri Lanka on June 27, 2009.  This loan was approved by the IMF board despite the opposition from several countries including the United States.

“In Sri Lanka’s case they have been hit by the global crisis and the IMF’s mandate is to address and ward off balance of payments crisis,” IMF Mission Chief to Sri Lanka, Brian Aitken, told reporters on a conference call.

“The balance of payments crisis sounds rather dry, but it really would have a devastating impact on the economy and to the people, particularly the most vulnerable“, he added.

So Bob, you and Hillary didn’t care two curly hairs from Barak Obama’s head, whether Sri Lankan people would have suffered miserably.  At that point I said, “You two Yankees, Bob and Hillary, pox on both of you wanting to make my people hurt and suffer because you wanted to give the northern Tamils a piece of productive real-estate in the North carved out of Sri Lanka which belonged to all Sri Lankans.  I resent your gall.  I don’t trust you one bit, Bob.

I don’t trust you anymore.  I doubt Sri Lanka would ever be comfortable to accept you as a friend or a lover of the country as the ordinary person if asked, what do you think of Robert Blake the former Ambassador to the  U.S., I wont be surprised if I am told “”…”

“Bobby Blake Shafter gone to sea/ With silver buckles on his knee/ He’ll come back to marry me/ even though he is a Shafter. Bobby Blake Shafter is slim and fair, combing down his yellow hair/ I am careful of his love for evermore/ as he is Bobby Blake the cunning Tamil loving Shafter.”

“The Tamils in particular have suffered a great deal from some of the human rights abuses of the last few years”¦”, you said.

God man! Where do the Sinhalese and Muslims fall into your “human Rights abuses of the last few years”¦.” formula?  Bob, aren’t you a son-of-a-gun, ignoring the Sinhalese and the Muslims of these  “human rights abuses” at the hands of the Tamil separatists and Tamil Tigers.  That’s where you fit into the nursery rhyme “…as he is Bobby Blake cunning Tamil Tiger loving Shafter.”

God damn it Bob, for 27 bloody, I means literally bloody years, the Sinhalese and the Muslims have been abused with murders and ethnic cleaning by these Tamils whom you seem to be so concerned about and have become the guardian of them. “Hmmmmmm”¦”¦I smell a rat here, and an ugly one at that, Bob”.

Bob, if you cannot be honest with yourself on the Sri Lankan issue, you might as well shut-up and keep your hands off Sri Lanka.

Here are some incidents for you to re-tool your comments about, “The Tamils in particular have suffered a great deal from some of the human rights abuses of the last few years”.  Permit me to remind you of some incidents of the last ten years, which I hope will satisfy your “”¦last few years.”  Let me take you back to the year 2000 and work forward.

–          By Monday, April 20, 2009, with three Tamil Tiger suicide attacks, they brought the human suicide bombings to 382 killing mostly Sinhalese innocent civilians in the thousands.  You obviously were blind about the human rights abuses of the Sinhalese by the Tamil terrorists, the bastards.   Right Bob?

–          Welikanda massacre on 29 May, 2006: 12 Sinhalese were killed and two who escaped death in the Tamil Tiger attack at Omadiyamadu in the Welikanda area were engaged in an irrigation canal construction project for the Mahaweli Authority undertaken by a contractor. You obviously were blind about the human rights abuses of the Sinhalese by the Tamil terrorists, the bastards.   Right Bob?

–         On 9 October 2008, a Tamil Tiger suicide bomber attacked a convoy accompanying Sri Lanka’s Agriculture Minister (a Sinhalese) through a suburb of the capital Colombo, killing one person (a Sinhalese) and wounding five (all Sinhalese).  You obviously were blind about the human rights abuses of the Sinhalese by the Tamil terrorists, the bastards. Right Bob?

–         On 15 June, 2006, the Tamil Tigers detonated a claymore mine in Kebitigollawa killing 64 civilians, all Sinhalese, including children and Buddhist monks, and injuring 39 other Sinhalese. You obviously were blind about the human rights abuses of the Sinhalese by the Tamil terrorists, the bastards. Right Bob?

–         On 6 January 2007, the Tamil Tiger terrorists exploded a powerful bomb inside a civilian bus in Seenigama, killing 15 civilians, all Sinhalese, and injuring 40 other Sinhalese.

You obviously were blind about the human rights abuses of the Sinhalese by the Tamil terrorists, the bastards. Right Bob?

–          For 27 years the right-to-life of the Sinhalese were taken hostage by the Tamil Tigers, when they had to make a sign of the cross or place their palms together in prayer before they got on a public transport vehicle in the morning on their way to work wanting to arrive at their destination in one piece not being blown to smithereens by a bomb planted by a Tamil Tiger.  And you were blind to the human rights abuses of the Sinhalese by your friends the Tamil Tigers, the damn bastards. Right Bob?

Do I have to point out any more human rights abuses of the Sinhalese from my catalogue of events to show that you are pathetic in your defense of the Tamils?  Bob, stop being a Tin-God trying to put to order the destiny of the Sri Lankans in favour of the Tamils.  You are no Yankee-Doodle-Dandy.

So my advice to you Bob, is to keep your dirty hands off Sri Lanka and its good citizens who had their lives disrupted for 30 long years by the Tamil separatists supported by outsiders like you Americans, Indians and Norwegians.  If they have placed their trust on President Mahinda Rajapaksa to guide their destiny, then so be it.  They know what is best for them and are not prepared to trust a slimy Yankee like you or any other outsider.

And that is my verdict condemning you for being insincere.

 Sincerely,

Asoka Weerasinghe

What is amazing to note is that Robert Blake still has not realized that most people now know that he is an undercover CIA agent (not undercover anymore!!) and he keeps making statements to cover up the mistakes he has made thereby making it even worse. Keep talking Bob – the more you talk more people will realize what your (and your Government’s) real agenda is.

  2. Mr. Pol Says:

We have all kinds of people trying to “interpret” the election results to their own benefits such as Ranilams comical and delusional point of view that people who did not vote = opposition supporters. These white clowns in particular are trying to twist around the results as if they have influence. For example the US saying “look forward to (MR) fulfil his promises on improving human rights”?? One of the fundamental reasons MR got such a huge mandate was to stop interference in our countries affairs and PREVENT these whites from violating our human rights.

  3. Mr. Pol Says:

All this “praise” from the US is a carefully laden trap which I hope the Government does not fall for.

You will notice they have twisted to their own benefit the meaning of the election results with their own views and tried to inject them into the results –as if people & MR listened to the US (who in reality wield no power, influence or authority over SL) and want “improvement in human rights” and “power sharing with Tamils and muslims” (Blakes statements) as well as blindly following the rest of the Wests FAILED hegononomic neo-colonial ideologies to turn us into a puppet state in more ways than one. All of this Rajapakse outright rejected with pro-Lankan polices which the people of Sri Lanka overwhelming endorsed twice when they voted for him at the PE and GE.

Thus when Rajapakse starts to fulfil his REAL mandate (which the Wests knows very well what it is and that he will fulfil it), they will have thus ceded artificial ground to attack him and say “MR is not doing x, y, and z” then toss in “going against his campaign pledges and mandate given to him by the people” to launch a fresh wave of attacks against the country (as well as “punishments”) as done before during the last 4 years. Once more we are seeing these democracy preachers trying to deny and camouflage the democratic will off our people.

  4. Mr. Pol Says:

Besides who asked Blake what he thinks? Funny only Sinhalese are “hardline”, “nationalist” and “racist” but Tamils are not…

This Blake needs to be tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The creation of the human shield and thus engineering a humanitarian catastrophe to justfy intervention to save the LTTE and pro-long war, misery and continual violation of our human rights was the Wests idea spearheaded/implemented by him, the UN and the Tamil diaspora in collusion with the LTTE.

  5. Susantha Wijesinghe Says:

Asoka, please permit me to highlight TWO more events from your “” catalogue of events diary “” to emphatically reflect the hypocracy of these International Interlopers, concerned about HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES.

    A) The Arantalawa Massacre of little Samaneras ( little children inducted as pupil Buddhist Monks ). A few days after it happened, I saw all the photographs and my heart bled. There was a 10 or 12 year old Samanera, seated on the ground, and on his lap was a severed head of another little Samanera. He was holding the severed head and crying. The adjective that you have used on the Tamil Tiger Terrorists, is very mild. An American would have described as MFSOBS. I do not know what a Norwegian or a Frenchie, or an Englishman would have used.

    B) The Padaviya village massacre of Men, Women, and Children, who were fast asleep at 3am in the morning. This massacre was conducted by 95% of Tamil Tiger Terrorist Women, with knives and swords. I have been to this Padaviya Village, on my way to Pulmoddai Mineral Sands Corporation. These villagers are an epitome of innocence
and are typically, a very hospitable set of people. Is murder, tantamount to Human Rights Abuse, or is Human rights Abuse tantamount to Murder. Here again, Iam at a loss for a suitable adjective, for Tamil Tiger Women Terrorists.

The outside world, totally refused to see these incidents. NONE ARE SO BLIND, AS THOSE WHO DO NOT WISH TO SEE.

Furthermore prior to Rajapkase’s popular accent to the Presidency the West was violating human rights of the people in Sri Lanka with impunity through various organs such as their NGOs (“humanitarian” or other), media, corrupt opposition politicians and puppet leaders in Colombo -all functioning the eyes, ears and boots on the ground of the West working in unison to deny our people our basic rights.

An improvement in human rights only occurred by keeping the West and their destabilising forces out of our affairs and country and restricting their movements and activities. Thanks to the Wests unhindered support, financing, backing and “moral” cover given to their Tamil hit force & other foreign policy tools such as Western funded NGOs human rights in Sri Lanka were being brutally trampled on by the West, its hubris and racist hegemony. Under Rajakpashe by debarring and removing these foreign funded and backed NGOs and terrorist organisations from our country there has thus been a vast improvement in protecting our human rights, safety of our citizens and protection of our culture, heritage, territorial integrity and way of live.

  8. Siri Says:

The time has come for Sri Lankans living in the USA as voting citizens not to support the Obama regime if he continues to employ people like Robert Blake in the CIA/Foreign service. A lot of registered republican Sri Lankan citizens voted for Mr. Obama in the presidential election. All these voters may decide to vote Republican at the next election if nothing is done to correct this situation. Robert Blake has to go home. Mr. Obama is a good man. Do not make him a one term president by continuing in office.
Hillary Clinton can remain in the state dept as she is safe there. She is clealy displaying her ignorance in World affairs every time she opens her mouth. So far she has achieved nothing to write home about. She took money from the Terrorist LTTE and wanted to call them Freedom fighters. How can America trust this woman to solve the World’s Terrorist problems when she cannot even recognize a Terrorist when she sees one. I hope she realizes that her political career is over and decides to go home on her own. She is a miserable failure.

  9. M.S.MUdali Says:

If anyone read the REAGONOMICS or Reagan-Thatchar axis political agenda, all will realize why Blake bark at Sri Lanka. American foreign policy still based on the same Reagan era politics. Kill leaders, desroy countries which are democratic or non-democratic and non-us/uk supporters, destroy left or socialist are the Reagan era agendas. Mainly the destruction of NAM leaderships is another agenda.

Think about the new constitution of Sri Lanka which gave powers (unlimited) to one man Jayawardene. The constitution is the brain child of A.J.Wilson who was a CIA agent and the son-in-law of S.J.V.Selvanayakam. The association of the Catholic/Christian churches with LTTE is another outcome of the American agenda. Vatican is part of American policy.

Blake is a product of Reagan era politics. Democracy never be a priority in the American foreign policy! Further Obama is an admirer of Ronald Reagan!

American agents are still at work with the same Reagan policies. In my observation, I have found “infiltrations” in the Rajapakse administration with American Agents!

Victory over LTTE is not a “finished war”.

    Interesting post M.S.MUdali.

What you say is very true and thank you for mentioning it.

The above bit i have quoted from you is probably also true, if you count Gonseka (who was “hired” by Blake back in November 2008 with a green card, money and all, not to mention the huge number of meetings Gonseka had with Blake while still holding position as Army Commander) as well the fact there are prominent UNPers in MR’s cabinet/Government who were all crossovers.
