KUMARAN PATHMANATHAN (KP) DESERVES DEATH SENTENCE AND NOT 100 ACRES

Is Kumaran Pathmanathan (KP) worth more than a Dead Tamil Tiger? If the latest report to say that KP will be rewarded with 100 acres is true, there is something wrong somewhere with the GovernmentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s attitude towards KP. The public would like to know what information the Government has managed to extract from KP so far to reward KP with a NGO ( Is the central Bank monitoring the funds this NGO gets?) and 100 acres. The public would wish to know whether the Govt. has captured with the help of KP any of LTTEƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s remaining ships after the defeat of LTTE militarily. We are thankful for the excellent naval operations during the peak of LTTE power which destroyed six or seven LTTE floating warehouses of illegal arms (ships) in the mid seas. Nothing is heard of the remaining LTTE ships after the war albeit man behind the scene KP has been in custody for over an year but treated not as a terrorist but a right royal.
There are some pertinent questions that need answers. Has the Government managed to get enough information from KP about the kingpins of various dubious LTTE fronts spread in the western world? Has the Government managed to get any access to LTTEƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s illegal and legal businesses thro KP? Who are the western politicos, foreign journalists of electronic and print media, foreign VIP sympathizers and diplomats in LTTEƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s payroll and perks? Are there any local NGOs, politicians and journalists who have been receiving kickbacks from LTTE? Has the Government managed to get enough details of KPs modus operandi of procuring arms and shipping them to LTTE areas ? KP should have answers for all these queries.
We shouldnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t forget that KP is a shrewd and cunning as a fox and can never be trusted. It appears that he is taking the Government for a ride. He was the chief financial wizard of LTTE international operations with several foreign passports, fake visas, carrying many aliases and flying from one country to another evading all the securities of the countries he passed by. He was the king pin of the LTTE in procuring illegal arms for LTTE. We should not forget that he even made a last minute attempt to save Prabhakaran by secretly negotiating with Eric Solheim and a top notch UN official (Under Secretary John Holmes) to stop the war operations launched by the Sri Lankan forces.
Sri Lankan people admired the way our intelligence services with the right guidance of the Defense Secretary Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa arrested KP while on a foreign Soil. There is no doubt that this was a smart operation. But the resources spent to arrest KP will be down in the drain if we cannot get any important information from him. It is no doubt that KP is maintained at a terrible cost to the Government and for what? We have also become a laughing stock among the western countries who have been protecting LTTE that while the SL Govt. is requesting other countries not to entertain requests from the LTTE suspects who had been trying to enter as asylum seekers, whilst the next big terrorist to Prabhakaran is being treated right royally. No wonder Sarath Fonseka who was a partner of the war operations against LTTE is fuming with anger.
Kumaran Pathmanathan alias KP as we all know is the person who procured arms for LTTE to prolong the war that killed thousands of innocent civilians. For the brutal crimes committed by LTTE, KP is equally guilty as Prabhakaran, Pottu Amman and other top rank LTTE activists dead and alive in the LTTE hierarchy. He deserves death sentence and not reward of 100 acres. Who knows that KP will run a de facto regime in the area of 100 acres in Wanni collecting and consolidating the LTTE hardcore who may be still in hiding and launch another insurgency against Sri Lankan governments.

KP was known as “James Bond” of LTTE and the kingpins of various dubious LTTE fronts spread in the western world. Never to trust this man. Before KP Vanish and disappeared to unknown country punish him for his activities contributed of LTTE killing of thousands of innocent people. If Government can find many reasons to put SF behind bars it is very strange same Govt: cannot find any wrong doing to punish KP allowing this man to be free. He is now planning for his “grate escape”. Who will be answerable if KP escape from S/L Gotabaya and President or both??? Without wasting any more Tax Payers money put this man behind bars and show the Govt: creditability.

All the good work done by the Government will go nowhere if they do unneccessary things and unpopular things.KP is a criminal and is guilty as PRABAKARAN for all the carnage,destructions and the killings of innocents in my beloved Motherland. Yes we would like to know what we got from him to treat him as a VIP. We all wants to know the truth nothing but the truth about all his activities and what valuable information the Government got from this man. Are there are any benefits for our country by allowing such a criminal to go free? We cannot trust an enemy like him so soon and forgives him for his crimes against humanity. Where is the money KP amassed all these years? Who was the big guys the Goverment caught from his informations? Can we trust him to walk freely in my country? What is the guarantee we have that he will never try anything like before in my homeland? We need answers from the Government. We know Our heros will agree with me and I know our most popular Defence secretary will never do silly things by allowing him to go just free without any reason. Lets hope everything will be alright for the sake of PEACE in my country.

Leagally KP cannot be prosecuted in any courts of Sri Lanka. Further KP never involved directly in any terrorist activity in Sri Lanka. Now he is not a Sri Lankan citizen too.
But people like Ranil still alive in Sri Lanka. He knowingly carved out an area for LTTE. It is unconstitutional and treason. If Sri Mavo Banadaranayke was punished, the same laws are applicable to punish Ranil and throw him in the jail.
Catholic Church publicly involved with LTTE but none of them were prosecuted. Why?
You are all barking at KP because he is a TAMIL. Have you any other reason?
If KP is guilty of anything, Ranil and his cabinet must be hanged at Galle Face Greens along with the catholic priests who helped LTTE directly till the last minute! I am not a supporter of LTTE but you guys exclude the Sinhala colloborators of terrorism.
Now KP is not free like Ranil but in an open prison!

What Malin Abeyantunga says is 100% correct. KP is a criminal. He is responsible for massacre of many thousands of civilians in Sri Lanka. But, I cann not understand why he is protected by the Sri Lankan Goverment. No one should have the power to grant amnesty to any criminal in sri Lanka or anywhere in the world, except the Courts. It looks like we are back to square one. One day, perhaps in another 20 or 30 years, they will get the Eelam by political means. Now, both KP and Karuna knows that they cannot get the Eelam by military means. That’s why both of them have joined the political stream. No matter whoever he is, he should be charged and produced in courts. To date, not a single senior LTTE member has been charged.
It looks like, our heroic soldiers have made the supreme sacrifice, and now KP, the No. 2 criminal in Sri Lanka history is protected by the present Goverment.
It is a shame for those heroic soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice.

I wish to add few more points to what Mr Malin Abeyatunga says;
(1) Recently there were several newspaper reports saying over Rs 600 Million or more given to NGOs by foreign countries. Sri Lanka Govt can easily track these money transactions, but, has not investigated this yet. Why ?
(2) Dr Jehan Perera, Pakyamoothuy etc openly working for those NGOs, and writing to many newsapapers etc. Why SL Govt is not investigating Jehan Perara etc ?
(3) LTTE was defeated militarily only; NOT politically. Those foreign powers, NGOs etc in full action now with KP etc. Why Sri Lanka Govt is not investigating these activities ?
(4) Unfortunately, all so-called patriot politicians (such as Dinesh, Champika etc) are DEAF and BLIND now once they achieve their hidden agenda’s. Why can’t raise these issues in the parliament and investigate about KP, Jehan Perata, Pakymothy etc. We can learn one point this; all politicians are crooks; all what they want is to achieve their personal agenda’s, not the country.
(5) Soon after the military defeat of LTTE, everybody expected that Sri Lanka Govt will investigate all NGOs who helped LTTE and get rid of all roots. It is not happening.
Why Sri Lanka Govt is silent on these issues?
