The EditorƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ (Letters), THE OTTAWA CITIZEN
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sir:
Mark KennedyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s report: ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Canada to press Sri Lanka on abuses, Harper threatens to boycott 2013 meeting of CommonwealthƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, had a jarring taste of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-We are Holier than Thou!ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ on my tongue.
Here is Canada that helped the Tamil Tiger terrorists to fight the democratically elected sister Commonwealth Government for the want of their separate mono-ethnic, Tamil state, Eelam, and prolonged that war by letting the Canadian-Tamils stuff two-million dollars a month for 13 Liberal governing years to buy lethal weapons to kill ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ thousands of unarmed innocent Sinhalese and Muslim peoples, threatening Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ for alleged abuses duringƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the last few months of the warƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ is disingenuous, and I find it hard to swallow.
The volte-face of the Conservative government that banned the Tamil Tigers in April 2006 is understandable.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The hardcore Tamil Tiger Tamil supporters ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ have abandoned the Liberals and are now Conservative voters and ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ are also seeking public officeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ as Conservatives.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Such is the change of fortunes for the Tamil Tiger supporters as well as the Conservatives who are wooing the Tamil votes in the GTAƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ which theyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ couldnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t count on ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ two federal elections ago.
At the end of the day, the 22 million Sri Lankans who were given back their ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”right-to-lifeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ by the Sri Lankan Government on 19 May 2009, after ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ having it hijacked for 27 years ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ by the Tamil Tigers, by eliminating them ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ militarily, wouldn’t care two hootsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ whether CanadaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Prime Minister Stephen Harper attends ColomboƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Commonwealth Summit in 2013 or not.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They just want to enjoy their freedom, and continue with the progress of reconciliation among the polarized communities.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Prime Minister Stephen Harper should announce that he will boycott the Commonwealth summit now without all this song and dance, as the Sri Lankan government will do what is best for its citizens being the only country that eliminated terrorism and the most ruthless lotƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in the world, for that matter who perfected the suicide bomb-vest which is now being used by terrorists all over the world.

If Harper does not want to boycott Colombo Summit, he can go to a “Dosai Evening” with his dear Tiger friends in Scarborough and let his bowels opened on the following morning and have a good day!
We do not want Harper!!

Evidently, Haper is on record saying:
“if we do not see progress in Sri Lanka in terms of humans rights…”
““our position’s very clear that we are supportive of an independent investigation“
Mahinda Rajapakse should also be saying:
“We need to see progress on the current Govt. of Canada disassociating itself from LTTE supporters in Canada AND holding an inquiry into: How the Tamil Canadian LTTE supporters raised thousands of millions of dollars in Canada to help the LTTE unleash horrifying terrorism in Sri Lanka (as stated by none other than the Canadian premier law enforcement authority, the RCMP), with the revelation of names of those guilty parties from the Canadian Tamil diaspora AND evidence of prosecution of same AS WELL AS the culpability of the Govt. of Canada for allowing such criminal act to take place within Canadian soil and who are the guilty politicians in Canada, some who are still alleged to be in the parliament in Canada, who turned a blind-eye at best and provided moral support at worst, for such to happen.”
AND he should also add:
“our position’s also very clear; if the Govt. of Canada is unwilling or unable to do this, then we are supportive of an independent investigation“

Canada never prosecuted any LTTE fund raiser. Holland prosecuted many and brought them to Hague. Harper’s talks are useless while he refuse to prosecute LTTE goons in Canada!
Human Rights is a joke now. The main violators of the HR are now crying about it while they simply bomb and kill thousands of people in other countries.
In Sri lanka the current government rehabilitated and let the former LTTE terrorists to join their families. Can Harper show a single Afghani rehabilitate by Canada or USA or its allies? They kill or jail the people of other countries.
Can Harper explain why Canada drag the Air India bombing case for decades?
