Geneva Resolution demanding an international investigation into military operations during last stages of the War

The Western do gooders in Geneva plus India allege Sri Lanka committed war crimes during the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ last stages of the War. They desperately try to depict Sri Lanka and its people as brutals. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lankan Government has vehemently maintained its stand that its forces did not commit such brutal, horrendous crimes. Now the enemies of Sri Lanka in Geneva demand an international war crimes investigation into Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s last stages of the war.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They make the allegation relying on Mr Gordon WeissƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ assertions and the Channel 4 documentaries. Apart from these two dubious sources, they do not have any credible evidence to demand such an investigation against Sri Lanka.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lanka Support Group, Canberra unequivocally says Mr Weiss is biased against Sri Lanka, his allegations are not credible and that the Channel 4 videos are unauthentic.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Both parties have motives to lie. Sri Lanka Support Group has shown 58 situations where the Channel 4 ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Killing FieldsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ video was unauthentic (please see our previous media releases).
(1)ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Mr Gordon Weiss (and Western Media) assertions
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It was Mr Weiss who first stated in 2010 that up to 40,000 Tamil civilians may have died in the last stages of war and alleged that the Sri Lankan military killed them. During this time he was writing his book on the Sri Lankan War which was later published and copies were sold in large numbers. When Mr Weiss ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ was working for the UN, during April/May2009, he himself or his own agency stated that only up toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 7,000 people were killed ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” they did not attribute blame on the Sri Lankan military for the deaths (this wasƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ also a high number and the Sri Lankan Government denied this). The Government of Sri Lanka later admitted (in 2011) that about 8,000 people were killed during last stages of war in the North and East. The figure was arrived from works of the Government officials (grama sevakas etc) who have presence in the villages. The 8,000 figure included deaths of Tamil Tigers (most of them were in civil attire that time) and the natural deaths of the Northern province citizens.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ On what basis did Mr Weiss about 9 after the war increase the number of deaths from 7,000 to 40,000!? He could not answer this at his own book launch in Melbourne in 2011.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Mr Weiss states he got his information from reliable sources who had a presence inside the battle zone, not Tamil civilians nor Tamil fighters, but failed articulate what those credible sources were. If Mr WeissƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s source of information was the Tamil doctors who spoke to foreign journalists during the war (Mr Weiss seems to imply this, but there is no evidence that he did speak to them) stating that large number of Tamil civilians were dead, then, they cannot be considered credible witnesses. After the war the doctors came out from the closet and stated that they had to say there were many Tamil civilian deaths (they never stated 40,000 deaths) because they were under pressure from the Tamil Tigers to say so. They admitted that they had fabricated the stories to the world.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Mr WeissƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ figure was accepted as gospel truth by the Western media and politicians (hereinafter ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”the WestƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢).ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ During the same time theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ British Guardian reported that 40,000 civilians were killed, and implied most of the deaths were committed by the Sri Lankan military.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It seems the Guardian picked up the figure after largely ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ speaking to Diaspora Tamils, who as everyone knows are hell bent on attacking Sri Lanka. They want to create a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Tamil ElamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ in Sri Lanka by hook or crook, something which the LTTE failed by gun.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ We now note thatƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ enemies of Sri Lanka have increased the dead number without any credible evidence to a much more comfortable 50,000ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ – a figure substantial enough to demand an international investigation of war crimes. Some recent Western media have increased the number of deaths ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to 125,000. A fanciful allegation ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” it is impossible for anyone to kill and dispose so many dead bodiesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in the midst of 300,000 people that were in the No Fire Zone (not a single civilians therein had stated that so many people were killed). The West is simply plucking numbers from thin air, with the sole aim of destroying Sri Lanka.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Again, Mr Weiss and the West have intentionally or recklessly misled or lied to the international world about the dead and casualty figures. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This is a very serious accusation against a democratically elected Government and a proud Nation.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Their duty should be to disclose the truth to the World.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Neither Mr Weiss nor the West have been bold enough to state that of those Tamils who died (7,000 or 40,000, we say the numbers were minute), they were Tamil Tigers, and if Tamil civilians also died, then they may have most probablyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ been killed by the Tamil Tigers themselves, as they were holding heavy armaments inside the No Fire Zone to shoot at the military.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ During last stages of the war, the President of Sri Lanka gave an assurance to the international community that the Sri Lankan Army willƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ not fire at the No Fire Zone and Mr Weiss and the West very well know that the Government did stick to its promise. General Fonseka too confirmed that the Army did not fire at the No Fire Zone. Mr Weiss ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and the West would agree large numbers of Sri Lankan soldiers died as a result of Tamil Tiger gun/artillery fire as they were unable to shoot at the terrorists hiding in the No Fire Zone. Mr Weiss nor the Western media do not want to say all this, then it willƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ not create a bad impression about Sri Lanka in the mind of the ordinary Western citizen.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Channel 4 false accusations
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Channel 4 has brought up several videos showing alleged execution of Tamils by the Sri Lankan military and other war crime atrocities against Sri Lanka including the most recent video ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ alleging that the Army killed PrabhakaranƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s son, Balachandran.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There is credible evidence that on or about 19 May 2009 Prabhakaran ordered the death of his family members including that of his youngest child, Balachandran. Prabhakaran with his Nazi style thinking did not want the family members to be captured alive by the Sri Lankan forces (Note he gave cyanide capsules to his cadres to wear around the neck). Photos shown by Channel 4 evidence that Balachandran was kept in a LTTE bunker (Note the smiling young Balachandran who was wearing the sarong in typical Tamil style). There were people wearing slippers around him. The Sri Lankan military never wore slippers, but boots. It was the Tamil Tigers who fought the war wearing slippers.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ For the West to say the controversial Channel 4 videos are authentic, ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ without regard to the Sri Lankan GovernmentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s viewpoint is totally wrong, when the Sri Lankan Government had vehemently denied that its military killed innocent Tamil civilians and Tamil Tigers in arbitrary fashion. The Sri Lankan Government and other reputed Sri Lankan organisations in the Western World, including Sri Lanka Support Group, Canberra, have provided expert reports stating that the videos were fabrications.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is alleged Channel 4 had close affinity with the Tamil Diaspora, one of its leading staff member involved with production of the videos ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ has a Tamil spouse and he had visited Sri Lanka recently with her.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 4. A clear Western Media lie where they were caught (there are many instances like this)
The photo below had lots of prominence during the war where the international media widely published it as a photo depicting the Sri Lankan military shelling the innocent Tamil civilians (women and children). The Sri Lankan Government was blamed for killing innocent civilians. Later it was revealed that the photo was a fake. It had been taken with Tamil actors to deceive the whole world . Some international media accepted it as a fake. The Canberra Times also reported the fake. It is alleged that some of the actors in this fake photo have appeared as actors in the Channel Four video (this is not yet a fully verified fact).

Should the UN be concerned by these ‘videos’ that have been concocted by two groups with vested interests: callum macray, for his hatred of the GoSL for kicking him out of the country for siding with the terrorists, and, another, who is trying to make his entry into “human rights” hall of fame, by selling more of his ‘book’.
These two groups are not credible, and are after their own interests. Sri Lanka should point out that at the UN……

There was a human rights forum organised by the Human Right Law Centtre in Melbourne & Sydney on 7& 8 march 2013.. Panel in Melbourne was Dr Sam Pari, Mr Godon Weiss and Ms Frances Harrison from the BBC and moderatorr Mark Davies from the SBS. They all went deaf and dumb when questions were raised about the Indian Intelligence Services involvement, were the 40,000 dead eaten by the army etc.
The Indian intelligence service is behind the Tamil terrorist out fit, in fact it is an Indian terrorist outfit. India has not given up and still and chasing the island nation in Geneva. India has mislead tghe West.
There is no question Indian intelligence service has paid hundred of thousands of dollars or Euros to the Authors like Gordon Weiss and Frances Harrison.

Fine words everbody- but just one item is yet to be done! – This Gordon Weiss’s concocted casualty numbers as an ex UN body during the War are endlessley being quoted by all and sundry including CH4. As Mr S de Silva says fine words indeed. GOSL or interested parties should take these people to task.
Interestingly, i notice there has been presentations and speeches by various HR organisations (including various tamil aid and support groups) every single day or two in Geneva highlighting human rights, lack of accountability, judiciary independence, media suppression, law and order etc in SL.
Was GOSL aware such presentations were given to high level delegates?
Why cannot the likes of the Sri Lanka Support Group, SPUR, WASP and the like make representations to counter these in Geneva. Are these organisations just happy vent their anger in blogs?
Whatever happened to Lies Agreed Upon? Is that gathering dust?

If I remember right, the UN rejected Mr Weiss’s 7000 claim, stating it was unsubstantiated. Gordon Weiss increased the number to 40,000 (though no one even had time to count such a number and he was no witness), when he could not extend his employment at the Colombo UN office. It is also reported that he himself reduced the number to around 10,000 in response to a qusetion at his book launch. Anyway the figure 40,000 is obviously better than 7000 to both promote sales of the fiction he wrote and also to attract more “donations” from the Tigers.
I believe the West is still fuming with anger because they could not execute their plan, as the SriLankan leadership with an army ably led by General Fonseka were too clever and was able to see their plan and fast tracked the defeat of the LTTE. Even the 300,000 hostages taken by the terrorists, may have been on the advice of the West represented by Norway, as this gives them an excuse to send in the R2P trojan horse into SriLanka, on the pretext of rescuing the hostages. This goes to show that General Fonseka, Gotabaya Rajapakse and the leaders of the Navy and Airforce were not fools not to realise the trap Prabakaran and the R2P sponsors were trying to setup. The West will never getover this missed opportunity and are hellbent on taking revenge from those who not only sabotaged their plan, but also got rid of Prabakaran a rare monster in human form, (just like Hitler, Stalin, Polpot etc) the West could have used to dismember India. Now they have to depend on incompetents like Jayalalitha, Karunanindi etc to agitate for an independent Tamil Christian state, loyal to USA

EVEN IF GOSL HAD ZERO CASUALTIES AT THE END OF THE WAR, THE WESTERN CHRISTIAN COUNTRIES WOULD HAVE PICKED UP ON SOME OTHER ASPECT OF THE WAR TO BRING UP ACCUSATIONS AGAINST IT. THEIR AGENDA IS TO BRING ABOUT EELAM BY ANY MEANS; THEIR PLAN TO BIFURCATE SRI LANKA AND WITH THAT THE BALKANISATION OF INDIA WENT AWRY AT LEAST FOR THE TIME BEING.
THIS IS WHY THEY ARE ANGRY AND THIS IS THE REASON THEY ARE WILLING TO ACCEPT ANY CRAP THAT PEOPLE LIKE GORDON WEISS ARE ABLE TO COME UP WITH.
SRI LANKA HAS TO WEATHER THE STORM AS BEST AS IT CAN WITH THE HELP OF ALL WEATHER FRIENDS AND PATRIOTS.
