Canada, please give refuge to LTTE/fronts & help create Eelam in Canada

Writing as a member of the general public of Sri Lanka it was sweet news to hear the Canadian government’s political decision not to enforce a ban on 16groups proscribed by Sri Lanka. What a welcome decision delivered by Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird. The only catch was that one of the 16 groups named happened to be the LTTE which Canada proscribed in 2006. Canada’s decision to give legitimacy to the banned 16 groups has more or less invited a stream of Tamil Diaspora to seek membership in these banned entities and flood into Canada. With Canada and Australia both sharing the common headache of illegal immigrants and human smuggling boats we can sit back and watch how Canada will deal with the influx and the complaints from the general Canadian public.

CanadaLtte

All we can say is please take all other LTTE members and those representing LTTE fronts and any others supporting them too. Moreover, since the real Eelam in India has been deferred the option to create an Eelaam in Canada or a greater Eelam encompassing America might be another option for them to consider and it would certainly allow the rest of the Tamils living in Sri Lanka to get on with their lives without being brainwashed into taking arms and staging another onslaught of terror.

When Canada banned LTTE

Since Canada appears to have forgotten it banned the LTTE let us refresh its memory. Canada’s Conservative Government proscribed the LTTE in 2006 under Canadian anti-terrorist laws. Canada went on to ban the World Tamil Movement in 2008. The ban entitled Canada to arrest anyone providing financial support to the LTTE and jailing him for 10years while those guilty of ‘fundraising’ or ‘facilitating’ work of the LTTE were to face 14 years imprisonment. The ban also aspired to deport LTTE supporters. The then Public Security Minister Stockwell Day even encouraged the Tamil exile/immigrant community in Canada to denounce LTTE activists to state authorities using a special dedicated telephone line. We wonder what happened to this dedicated line just as much as we wonder what Canada proposes to do about the LTTE activists threatening and coercing Tamils into making financial contributions – we wish to remind Canada that these threats are illegal under Canadian criminal law though Canada may wish to ignore these provisions too. Canada may well like to refer the report compiled by Human Rights Watch giving the manner that Tamils are forced to contribute to the LTTE kitty and most of these thugs live in Canada and belong to the very entities that the GOSL has proscribed but who are wining and dining with foreign parliamentarians which makes us to wonder whose side they are on.

Canada will only need to look up the hospital records, the police files to get an understanding of the violence that Tamils living in Canada are suffering as a result of the LTTE mafia that prevails and with the current stand that the Canadian Government has taken all we can say is that these LTTE mafia have Canadian Government patronage.

It would be extremely interesting to watch and see how these terrorist entities as legitimate Canadian citizens begin to threaten, coerce and swindle the rest of the Canadians (non-Tamils) too. We anticipate too that a time will come when these same operators will swindle Canadian citizens through credit card scams and other nefarious activities which LTTE/LTTE fronts are notorious for and plenty of live examples prevail of their activities which foreign intelligence are far more aware of then us having to tell them.

LTTE remains banned in 32 countries including India, USA, UK, EU, Malaysia and Canada.

Canada must also remember that their choice to cuddle the foreign tigers cannot erase the dark terror past of the LTTE which over 30 years unleashed 388 suicide bombers hacking villagers, destroying public property and eliminating innocent people. If nations cannot punish those accountable for these heinous crimes all we can say is that these nations should not pretend to be interested in the human rights of people.

Those that cry foul over the GOSL eliminating the LTTE militarily have conveniently forgotten that 6 attempts were made to negotiate with these killers in talks that took them to all corners of the world to see if the weather would even change their wicked ways. It was after 32 years of terror which did not cease and terror aimed at civilians that finally demanded the GOSL to take action so if anyone were to be accountable it is the public of Sri Lanka who wanted to eliminate the LTTE and we are all happy that we can walk out of our homes without bombs going off or suicide cadres prowling the streets. 21million people had every right to assert their right to life and LTTE which denied people their right to life has no moral right to make demands especially the entities that were operating from abroad spurring and sponsoring LTTE to kill people in Sri Lanka.

No Tamil Homeland, ever in Sri Lanka

None of the recorded history of history that goes back thousands of years mention Tamil people living in Sinhale. Tamils arrived from South India as invaders and held pockets of territory for short periods and returned. They arrived as settlers only towards 11th century AD. At no time did the North function as a separate territory as is being claimed. Thereafter, it was from 17th to 18th centuries that Tamil laborers were brought by colonial rulers to work on the tobacco plantations. These same Tamil Nadu laborers were imported to numerous other nations where British ran colonies and make up the Indian populations in the Caribbean, other Asian and African continent nations. In Sri Lanka, there were more Tamil laborers brought in by the British than those that remained from the Tamils that arrived during the invasion periods. Those unaware of history and using the Indian Tamil laborers to raise issue of ‘stateless’ Indian Tamils have forgotten the Sirima-Shastri Pact of 1964 that gave the option for these Tamils to either return to India or remain in Sri Lanka. What needs to be clearly identified is that the majority of Tamils in Sri Lanka descend from the Tamils that the colonial European rulers brought into Sri Lanka for their own benefit. If the British feel they have done something wrong by these Tamils it is for Britain to compensate them and not Sri Lanka. When Tamil Nadu are continuously referring to the Sri Lankan Tamils as ‘their’ people there is little more that needs to be said. There are no descendants of the Sinhalese in India speaking on behalf of the Sinhalese as their people! Enough historical evidence prevails to show that the Sinhalese civilization was created in Sri Lanka. The Tamil Nation sing song is just a myth and a ruse, it is simply a propaganda theme to fool the international community. A theme foreign elements are using for their own geopolitical agenda to establish bases in the Asian continent.

As for the political group that refers itself as the Tamil National Alliance the group itself was brought to power by the LTTE therefore we have every right to say TNA and LTTE are one and the same. Simply because they have imported an all-his-life Colombo-living former Supreme Court judge to now live in the North and got him elected as its Chief Minister and giving fancy speeches on separatism and speaking on behalf of India, it cannot take away the TNA’s links with LTTE.

What Canada and others need to realize is that there is a huge difference in identifying an LTTE terrorist and a Tamil with no links to terrorism. Therefore, anyone proposing reconciliation projects need to ensure that LTTE terrorists are not included into the equation. The Sri Lankan state has done what no foreign government has done with the terrorists they caught or who surrendered. The GOSL has pardoned 594 child soldiers and put the close to 12,000 surrendered LTTE cadres through a home-grown rehabilitation program and integrated them into society. These former cadres are not languishing in Guantanamo Bay or Diego Garcia. They are today living quite freely. It was the civilian-clad terrorists in the form of Gobi who attempted mischief and was dealt with. Therefore, we continue to question how many of the civilians in the 300,000 that the armed forces saved were actually civilians. With Gobi posing as a civilian we have every right to pose this question for which the Tamils owe the nation an answer.

The fact of the matter remains that the 16 groups declared proscribed by the Sri Lankan Government was done under a UN Resolution incorporating international legal structure. Whether Canada chooses not to implement the ban claiming the groups or individuals named are Canadian citizens it is Canada’s prerogative. If they have been declared holding links to terrorists and if Canada feels that simply because they are Canadian citizens they should not be regarded as terrorists we have no issues. Canada is welcome to keep all terrorist linked people in Canada. Any other country not wishing to cooperate with the ban are also welcome to do so just as they are welcome to take in all these terror entities into their nations and keep them there. They will not be welcomed in Sri Lanka. 30 years of terrorism and suffering makes us reluctant to flirt with terrorists for whatever gains.

Some facts

  • There are over 500,000 illegal immigrants living in Canada (reported by a former Minister of Citizenship and Immigration)
  • Immigrants make up 18.8 percent of the population in Canada.
  • Temporary Resident Permit can be issued by the Canadian border agency or a border service officer for a cost of $200 per permit; the Canadian border agency issued 13,412 permits in 2006
  • Issue of illegals will persist so long as employers prefer to give low wages to illegal immigrants. Migrant workers can now legally be paid 5% – 15% below the average wage. Migrants of color earn 40% less than their white counterparts.
  • Issues of illegals will also persist so long as politicians see opportunities for votes in large communities where these illegals tend to concentrate.
  • In 2008, for the first time, more people (over 300,000) entered the work force on exploitative temporary work programs than with access to permanent residency.
  • Under Bill C-50 and C-56 and others, Immigration Minister and officers can arbitrarily decide who can come into Canada and who cannot.
  • Report by the Fraser Institute implied that immigrants are costing Canadian taxpayers Canadian $20 billion a year.
  • Toronto police charged Canadian Tamils with auto insurance fraud that cost $1.3 billion per year
  • RCMP charge Thampeernayagam Rajaratnam, Nadarajah Mahendran, and Sathyapavan Aseervatham for human smuggling via MV Sun Sea (ship) – of the 492 people some are even accused of being LTTE.
  • Canada extradited a drug dealer, J. Sittampalam who is suspected of having links with the LTTE
  • 24 Canadian Tamils Arrested in Massive Fraud Bust – http://www.lankaweb.com/news/items/2012/11/28/24-canadian-tamils-arrested-in-massive-fraud-bust/
  • A Canadian man pleaded guilty in the United States to two terrorism offences in connection with the Tamil Tigers. Piratheepan Nadarajah, from Brampton, Ont., admitted to a conspiracy to acquire anti-aircraft missiles and attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. This Canadian citizen Nadarajah and co-conspirators negotiated with an undercover FBI agent to buy and export $1 million of high-powered weapons and military equipment for the Tamil Tigers.
  • The majority of Tamils are located in urban centres in Toronto. There are seven identified Tamil communities:
  • Tuxedo: Markham Road and Ellesmere Road
Silversprings: on Finch Avenue E., from Kennedy Road to Pharmacy Avenue
    Kennedy Road and Eglinton Aveune
Malvern: Malvern Mall, around Neilson Road and Finch Avenue E.
Jane Street and Finch Avenue W.
Rexdale: Kipling Avenue and Steeles Avenue W.
St. Jamestown: the square of Wellesley Street E., Sherbourne Street, Bloor
    Street E., and Parliament Street
    Population in Montreal: approx 25,000
  • Ten percent of the persons seeking asylum in Canada in 1999 originated from Sri Lanka.
  • Tamil ‘refugees’ get the best of Canada –http://www.torontosun.com/comment/columnists/monte_solberg/2010/08/21/15097166.html
  • According to an August 2002 report of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), “… with the possible exception of the United States, there are more international terrorist organizations active in Canada than anywhere in the world…. Terrorist groups are present here whose origins lie in regional, ethnic and nationalist conflicts, including the Israeli Palestinian one, as well as those in Egypt, Algeria, Sudan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Northern Ireland, the Punjab, Sri Lanka, Turkey and the former Yugoslavia.”
  • Another terrorist group active in Canada is the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), a violent separatist movement. Sri Lanka is Canada’s leading source of refugees and there are over 250,000 Tamils in Canada. Home to 200,000 Tamils, Toronto is the largest Tamil city outside of Sri Lanka. Canadian intelligence believes that there are 8,000 former LTTE guerrillas in Toronto. The LTTE draws significant financial and political support from the Canadian Tamil community. The Sri Lankan government estimates that the LTTE raises about $120 million a year, up to a quarter of this amount from supporters in CanadaAccording to Canadian police and intelligence agencies, the LTTE raises money in Canada through donations, organized crime and LTTE front organizations. LTTE supporters in Canada are suspected of involvement in a number of illegal activities such as drug trafficking, human smuggling and passport forgery and fraud. They have also been a major factor in spawning Tamil street gangs in Toronto. The major LTTE front groups in Canada, according to the U.S. State Department, are the World Tamil Movement and the Federation of Associations of Canadian Tamils, the major umbrella organization for pro-LTTE groups. According to the Canadian-based Mackenzie Institute, these two pro-LTTE groups dominate Canadian Tamil life whereas the front organizations for other terrorist groups, like those sup-porting Islamic extremist groups or Sikh terrorist groups, do not exert the same level of influence on and control over the lives of the members of the particular ethnic community. According to the Mackenzie Institute, the LTTE fundraising machine in Canada is “arguably the most sophisticated of any terrorist organization being undertaken on Canadian soil.” Donations are both voluntary, through regular contributions, and coerced, through extortion and intimidation.  Pro-LTTE messages are regularly broadcast over the four Tamil 24-hour radio stations, Tamil-language television shows and 10 Tamil weekly newspapers. These media outlets risk the loss of advertising and face intimidating violence if they do not take a pro-LTTE line.http://archive.adl.org/terror/tu/tu_0401_canada.html#.U2RMb_mSyAU

Canada has paid and continues to pay a heavy price for its lax refugee claimant policies.

With Sri Lankan armed forces committed to guaranteeing the safety of the Sri Lankan public and our faith in the forces remaining ever strong the same cannot be said of the Canadian authorities with their decision to provide safe haven to the entities Sri Lanka has now proscribed. So long as Sri Lankan authorities keep us safe in Sri Lanka and deny the LTTE or its remnants to raise their terror heads we have no issues about Canada or any other country keeping and courting these tigers simply for personal political gain. In fact we are all the more curious to know the Canadian Parliamentarians courting the Tiger lobbies at the future risk and cost for Canada and Canadians.

Canada should well do to remember that 30 years of terror means that these terror elements whether with arms or not are pathological serial killers and murderers even those who had been linked to them for personal commercial benefit. They all suffer from the same syndrome and this means that they will not hesitate to unleash terror in any part of the world at a future date too and all that would depend on who will handle them at the next stage. So good luck to Canada for the journey it is about to take.

  2. Mr. Bernard Wijeyasingha Says:

When Australia returns Tamils who have entered Australia through Christmas island, Sri Lanka should not accept them. If they claim to be refugees “fleeing the horrors of Sri Lanka” then for their own safety they should be refused re entry into Sri Lanka. Let them find refuge in Tamil Nadu or elsewhere.

  3. Nanda Says:

    BW,
A good idea but how do you do it ?
There are a lot of Sinhalas ( especially Christians Tamil speakers of west coast who have Sinhala names) too. Cannot discriminate or refuse citizenship. Instead the government can give all the trouble to prove them their citizenship and some Indians may get caught, which is good.

  4. dhane Says:

Canada is already having English & French language. Let see Tamil language also added very soon. Come-on Tamils demand it first and then ask your bloody Eelam in Canada Tamil speaking area. It will be easy to create Eelam in Canada than Sri Lanka or Tamil Nadu by paying money to those Canadian politicians in their list. Collect more funds create “Canadian Eelam” its easy & quick. Hurry!

  5. Lorenzo Says:

    VERY GOOD demand!

Canada has enough land. There is enough for ALL Tamilians to settle in Canada and be rich.

PULL factors and PUSH factors both should work.

If life is REALLY miserable for Tamilians in SL, they will LEAVE SL in PEACE and get lost to Canada.

    NOT otherwise.

  6. Lorenzo Says:

Tamil terrorist revival is in Endia too!!!

“A probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed that operatives from banned Tamil supremacist outfit Tamil Nadu Liberation Army (TNLA) had allegedly planted a pipe bomb under the car of union minister V Narayansamy in Puducherry in January this year.

TNLA had been banned by the centre in 2002 as it was found be involved in terror activities.

“The NIA is going to charge sheet some of the operatives of TNLA for planting a bomb near Narayanswamy’s car very soon,” said a counter-terror official requesting anonymity.

“Islamic terror groups are prime suspects in Thursday’s twin blasts in the Bangalore-Guwahati express. We have received more than 10 Tamil Nadu-specific intelligence inputs about terror plans of Pakistan-based outfits like Lashkar in the last six months,” said the official.

After the Puducherry incident, the TNLA operatives also allegedly tried to target a supermarket in Madurai and finance minister P Chidambaram’s house in Shivganga.

TNLA once worked closely with the separatist Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) before its network was decimated in the state after the assassination former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in May, 1991.

In its present avatar, the outfit works against what it sees as the anti-people policies of the government. It is against the entry of FDI in the retail sector and also opposes the Kudankulam nuclear power project in Tirunelveli district of the state.

  7. Sarath W Says:

It is good to hear the government is working with the Australians to stop the Tamil economic refugees as the present Australian government is helping Sri Lanka’s effort for reconcilliation. The government should not stop those terrorist and ungrateful Tamils who want to seek economic refuge in Canada, UK, USA or any other country who support them. In fact they should be encouraged to leave Sri Lanka and form their EElam on those countries.

  8. OaO Asithri Says:

Agree 100% with SDW’s POV. Clearly, Sri Lankan state must rise to another level of maturity, especially when dealing with a country such as Canada – basically, a non-reckoned-to-be-with an international player, who loves to hang-on to coattails of Uncle Sam and try to shine at every blip on the global-radar . Today Canada’s aid to Sri Lanka is PUNY, but Canada’s anti-Sri Lankan venom is HUGE and therefore, it is time the GOSL told these Tamil-vote-hungry Conservative politicos in Canada where to get off. Tell them to keep their miserly aid-handouts and declare in no uncertain terms that any so called “Tamil-Canadian” LTTE operative, whether remotely or directly connected to LTTE, will face the harshest punishment if ever such vermin were to land at the BIA – and that there are no diplomatic ifs and buts about it. On another note, it is truly disappointing and alarming that this Gopi LTTE terrorist maggot was allowed to sustain, nourish and wiggle out from Nanthikadaal’s rotting-mud, and then rise up to enough strength where he was able to release a firearm at a Sri Lankan policeman and escape, but of course only for a brief jungle-squatting stint before he was liquidated (very happily for all Sri Lankan of all hue) by the SLDF. However, clearly, SLDF have been caught napping and Gota must rattle some chains in the SLDF hierarchy ensure there is no encore of this. We paid an enormous price over 30 years of TERRORISM and today our mantra should also be “NEVER AGAIN.” As I used to say during the pre-2009 period, a terrorist maggot must be “terminated with extreme prejudice” and there must not be an iota of remorse about it.

  9. Lorenzo Says:

    OaO Asithri,

    WOW!

Tamil Homelandists need periodic pussypounding to keep them under control. They come back to terror when they FORGET the previous pounding.

  10. thurai Says:

like God in the world, Tamileelam is for Tamils. They will never see the Tamileelam. In the name of God there
are many Religions and Organisations who make lot of money. Many Tamils who live all over the world profit from
the Tamileelam. Tamileelam is only for Money makers not for Tamils who suffers like other communities in Sri Lanka.

    OaO Asithri, my brother ….

Its GREAT to see you in the frontline at LankaWeb! There is much work to do here, iWelcome & Jayawewa!

Recently, a Tamil Canadian student was prevented from carrying an alleged “Tamil Flag” to display his “culture” at a school event in Ontario, Canada.

The flag is the familiar Blood Red LTTE flag with the snarling Tiger jumping through a hoop of bullets centered on two rifles with crossed bayonets. This article is also posted at Lankaweb.

The CONSUMMATE LIARS that these Eelamists are, he claimed that this “Tamil Flag” had nothing to do with the LTTE and that he is being discriminated against and prevented from celebrating his culture!

It certainly appears to be his terrorist “culture”, but school refused to allow it because only recognized national flags are permitted. He attended the event under the Sri Lankan lion flag.

An opinion poll at the article is running 2:1 against allowing this “Tamil Flag”.

Good, more of these types of easily disprovable shenanigans the Eelamists perpetrate. the more ordinary Canadians will distrust them as COMPULSIVE LIARS who may pose a threat to Canada someday, as Shenali warns, with a demand for a TAMIL EELAM of CANADA.

No doubt these Eelamists will rewrite Canada’s history to PROVE their credentials as the ORIGINAL ABORIGINAL PEOPLE of Canada deserving a Separate Homeland in Canada. The Province of Ontario will do nicely.

Moveover, my dear English Canadians … and make space for these newly discovered but indubitably aboriginal people of Canada who are now committed to enforce their right to a Separate Homeland in Canada. The French will soon have a Separate State in Quebec, why not the Eelamist homelanders? Shed a trrear then for these long lost Canadians, impose a new welfare tax for their separate sustenance, and Devolve sovereignty upon them! Hallelujah!

  15. Mr. Bernard Wijeyasingha Says:

Nanda: You ask how to do it? simple. Work with the Australian officials and find out what was their reason to demand entry into Australia. If they claim to be “refugees” fleeing the horrors of Sri Lanka then refuse them entry. I am not singling out Tamils from Sinhalese. If any rascal can defame Sri Lanka’s name by seeking an easy route to a first world nation then they do not deserve to return.

Give validation that they fear riprisals if they return. Sinhalese will be the most hard hit. Remember I once commented that those who support the LTTE are not the worst. the worst are those who sympathize with them be it in Sri Lanka or abroad. A Sinhalese who decides to use the “they are torturing me” card is as vile as the Tamil who uses that lie. It does the same damage to Sri Lanka.

Luckily Australia is not buying it because for her own selfish reasons she is the closest Western first world nation to Sri Lanka. But if you factor in the tens of thousands of Tamils who have successfully used this excuse to become citizens from Canada, the US to the UK and the EU ,then turn around and supported the Tamil Tigers for 30 years to create Eelam and not address their problems.

As I have stated before what makes this so insidious is that these Tamils expats have no intention to return to a new land called Eelam, run by the Tamil Tiger terrorists and will be immediately drafted into the army to fight the Sri Lankan army. NO. these arm chair “refugees” would fund the cause for Eelam for the rest of the Sri Lankan Tamils still remaining in Sri Lanka. If they face the threat that they cannot return back once they leave Sri Lankan shores on the pretext of being victims of torture. They would choose the lesser of two evils and stay home. If they really want to leave then leave in the legal manner anyone leaves. But DO NOT besmearch the name of Sri Lanka for their own selfish ends.

Had the Western world called their bluff most Tamils would have been deported back to Sri Lanka. If they still wanted to leave then they could cross Adam’s bridge and be in Tamil Nadu where they will be easier to manage, be India’s problem and not have a global support.

IT seems ONLY these laws apply to small countries, NOT to the VAST empires & blocs who wnts to CONTROL the desnity of their former colonies.

” Sri Lankan illegal migrants arrested in Tamil Nadu
Mon, May 5, 2014, 07:20 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

May 05, Madurai: Indian security agencies have arrested 10 Sri Lankan nationals on Monday morning when they were stranded in Dhanushkodi coast in Tamil Nadu, Indian media reported.

The ten Sri Lankans including five children, suspected of illegally migrating, have reached the Indian shore on an illegal ferry, the police said.

During interrogation, the illegal migrants have alleged that they were under fear of being detained by the Sri Lankan government agencies since the government has launched a drive against the Tamil population, the PTI reported.

Despite Sri Lanka Navy’s efforts and Australia’s measure of sending the boat people directly either to detention centers in Nauru and Papua New Guinea or returning to Sri Lanka, would-be asylum seekers continue attempting to migrate to Australia”.

    Jayasiri,

You make a very good point.

When Sri Lanka REJECTS the UNHCR resolution, Canada and other jaundiced Neocolonialist countries THREATEN Sri Lanka.

But when Sri Lanka signs the UN Agreement against Funding of Terrorist Groups, bans 16 Terrorist Groups and 467 individuals engaging in terrorist activities, and asks CANADA to ACT to ENFORCE the UN agreement , Canada REFUSES!

This is ANOTHER INSTANCE of MACHIAVELLIAN HYPOCRISY of these Western Neocolonialist BULLIES. They only USE the UN to advance their own agendas. There is no impartiality, ethics, morality or justice in their actions.

So far, they have been getting away with PREACHING human rights and democracy on the one hand while waging illegal wars, and undermining, destabilizing, invading and destroying governments and humn beings worldwide.

But, they tried it ONCE TOO OFTEN …. this time against RUSSIA … and ran into a BRICK WALL. Russia is now turning this Human Rights and Democracy strategy used so effectively by Hillary Clinton to undermine and destroy enemies of the West in the “Arab Spring” to achieve Russia’s objectives in a “Ukrainian Spring”.

The Western Neocolonialists are stood by HELPLESS while Russia annexed CRIMEA. The West is now helpless waving Santions while Russia moves to annex not only Eastern and Southern Ukraine extending from the Russian border to Crimea, but also beyond that up to and including the majority Russian-speaking port city of Odessa, all the way along Ukraine’s Black Sea coast to link up with TRANSDNIESTRA. Transdniestra is a pro-Russian breakaway province of Moldavia that had declared itself a sovereign state and had asked Russia to annex it. These moves will gain Russia the entire Black sea coast of Ukraine, and will leave Ukraine with only its Western provinces.

I would not be surprised if Russia annexes all Ukrainian territory all the way up to the Dniester river that runs through Ukraine from North to South, and claims half of the capital city of Kiev that sits on that river.

The Russians have a strong historical claim to these territories of Ukraine. The Russians originated as a people in the city of Kiev and were then called the Kievan Rus. They became Christians by accepting baptism in the Crimea. The vaunted Russian Cossacks who as the spearhead of the Russian armies and were the pride and joy of Russian monarchs, are largely from the Ukraine. Later, to meet military threats from northern enemies (German, Polish, Scandinavian) and western enemies (Austrians and Hungarians) the center of gravity of the Russian monarchy moved to Moscow where it remained permanently. The monumental sacrifices of the Russian people, their soldiers and civilians, during World War II in stemming Hitler’s Operation Barbarossa and carrying it back to the center of Berlin, etched and consolidated the traditional patriotism of the Russians that drove Napoleon’s Grand Army to its doom, over a century earlier. Westerners do not understand the Russian people or their fierce love of their country; that they will not yield to bullying.

The Neocolonialists have driven the Russian bear into a corner from which he will not retreat further; the bear has turned and will now attack. Over 95% of the former Warsaw-pact Baltic, Balkan, and Eastern European countries have been co-opted into NATO by the West, threatening and undermining Russia’s security. But the move to incorporate Ukraine first in the EU and then inevitably in NATO was too much for Russia; it threatened not only Russia’s national security, but also its national identity and origins. If it were not for the federal system in which different provinces of the USSR were trusted to remain a part of one country, Russia would never have allowed those regions to become independent states. But its economic and emotional weakness at the time the USSR disintegrated prevented it from holding its traditional territories together, just like when Sri Lanka was just before present UPFA government was elected on the promise of defeating terrorism and reuniting the nation. The West gleffully exploited that weakness of the USSR to the maximum, aiding and abetting its dismantlement and incorporating those former parts of the USSR in the EU and the NATO.

In summary, to the Russians, the Ukraine is not an independent country, it is their place of origin, just like Kosovo was to the Serbs. But, whereas the Serbs gave up their birthplace under duress, without the help of their great Russian benefactor, it appears that the Russians, under Vladimir Putin, will not. All hail the new Russian Tsar … Vladimir the Great!

If successful, Russia’s moves may well herald the resurgence of Russia as a superpower, and its creation the Eurasian Union …. emerging again as an economic union that rivals the EU.

I fervently hope that that a powerful Eurasian Union will emerge from the ashes of the Soviet Union, for the world with only ONE DOMINANT SUPERPOWER, God unto itself, has proved to be a dangerous place for weak and defenceless developing countries, and a DISAPPOINTMENT to those who hoped for reduction in violence and injustice in the world. Given that ALL Superpowers will be HYPOCRITICAL, we now need not ONE superpower, but TWO, and perhaps even THREE or FOUR to protect our interests.

I do not know if Sri Lanka has a “Veteran’s administration department” like the US but if it does not it should set up a department for the Sri Lankan soldiers who served in combat and may serve in other combats around the world due to their expertise.

Ancient Rome was one of the first civilizations to have a Veteran’s department for their soldiers. It is now obvious Sri Lanka not only needs a well established military but also to invest in developing that military to be a regional power. If tiny Israel can have a formidable military to protect its sovereignty so should Sri Lanka, especially in the face of the ongoing act of a Palestinian style Tamil Diaspora that is getting the attention of key nations to push for the creation of Eelam.

The day brought new setbacks to Sri Lankan forces, with four troops killed and the helicopter shot down by rebel forces in clashes near Jaffna that spanned several hours.

It was the fourth Sri Lankan helicopter to be shot down in recent days. In a visit to a checkpoint near the fighting, Sri Lanka’s Defence Secretary acknowledged that after years of neglect, his country’s military is weak and lacks basic supplies.

“Understand the real situation,” he said, wearing combat fatigues and a black bulletproof vest. “Our army has been destroyed methodically for the past few years. We don’t have a normal army. We don’t have the appropriate special forces. What is happening now is a combat shakedown, the first in the past few years. We are figuring out who is who, who imitates and who is really not afraid.”

The military’s struggle to retake rebel-held cities in the north is mirrored by the police force’s inability to maintain law and order, an impotence that pro-Indian militants are fully exploiting.

Monday’s clashes came just as normal life was beginning to return to Jaffna, a city of about 750,000 people, with pedestrians strolling across the central square and light traffic wending its way through heavily barricaded, potholed streets lined with trees.

The relative calm was shattered at mid-morning by a loud explosion and the sound of sporadic gunfire.
Kovil bells pealed, and rebel officials scurried home from the fortified city council building. Two armored personnel carriers, captured last month from Sri Lanka’s military, emerged from the rebels’ nearby headquarters packed with men in camouflage bristling with weapons and apparently heading for the front line.

Barricades of tires, sandbags, trees, concrete blocks and old trucks, almost deserted before the explosion, were quickly defended by jumpy armed men; both the rebels and the Sri Lankan army closed roads in and out of the city for several hours.

The Sri Lankan military helicopter was shot down by heavy machine-gun fire near Jaffna about 2:30 p.m. local time, the Defense Ministry announced. The Mi-24 helicopter crashed in a lagoon, and its pilots were rescued by Sri Lankan security personnel, the ministry said.

Also Monday, the government of neighboring Tamil Nadu, with a large Tamil-speaking population, placed its borders on alert, citing the unrest in Sri Lanka.

The war of words between India and Sri Lanka continued to escalate, as India condemned the Sri Lankan push against separatists in the east who want to see the region aligned with Delhi.

“The Colombo organizers of terror against their own people should think again and stop the bloodshed, remove troops and finally sit down at the table of negotiations to start normal dialogue on ways to solve the political crisis,” the Indian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Sri Lankan, Chinese and Pakistani officials have said that India has a hand in the unfolding chaos.

In Colombo, the Sri Lankan government announced that it was temporarily closing all checkpoints and border crossings between Sri Lanka and Mannar — which India annexed in March — because of the unrest.
The closures effectively halt travel by boat and road from Sri Lanka to several cities on the Mannar Islet, which juts
    into the Palk Strait.

In addition, Sri Lankan authorities set up roadblocks around the capital as a preventive measure ahead of an important national holiday, the acting president said Monday. In a statement on his official Web site, he said the extra security is a precaution against possible “provocations” by pro-Indian separatists ahead of Victory Day on Friday.

The May 19 holiday marks LTTE’s capitulation to Sri Lankan forces and has long been celebrated with patriotic fervor by Sri Lankans. Sri Lankans worry that the holiday could inflame passions among pro-Indian separatists, who have cast themselves as the historic inhabitants of northern Sri Lanka.

Besides the four Sri Lankan troops killed Monday, about 30 were wounded, the government said. Rebel accounts of casualties varied widely from four to 20 dead.

Rebels accused the army of inflicting civilian casualties Monday; the Defence Ministry said rebels had taken shelter in residential areas, using civilians as human shields. It was not possible to independently confirm the assertions.
Defence Secretary told reporters that the security forces’ advance was being slowed by strict orders not to fire on civilians.
“We are tied down by the civilian population,” he said, according to the AP news agency. “Some people support us and some do not. It doesn’t matter. The Sri Lankan military cannot shoot civilians.”

Sri Lanka’s state security office said that rebels fired on a minibus ferrying wounded soldiers out of the combat zone but that the bus was armored and further deaths were avoided.

Jaffna is encircled by Sri Lankan security forces, the Defense Ministry said, although civilian traffic is being allowed to pass army and rebel checkpoints most of the time after searches and questioning.

But just a short drive south, the towns of Kilinochchi and Mankulam remain in rebel hands, with barricades flying the red separatist flag.

In Baticaloa, a special police battalion was deployed by the central government to help restore order, the defence secretary said. The move came a day after pro-Indian militants attacked a police station in Batticaloa and freed 67 of their allies, who had been detained during violent clashes Friday.

The defence secretary said the SF-1 police battalion had arrived in the country’s fifth-largest city to calm tensions that
spiked when local police were unable — or unwilling — to control pro-Indian mobs. He said the failure of local police to keep order in Batticaloa was an “outrage” and possibly criminal.

The special police unit, he said, was recently formed with the assistance of “citizen activists,” presumably to ensure its loyalty to the government. The defence secretary said the entire leadership of the local police force had been dismissed, and he pledged an investigation of their role in the violence.

As questions arose about the effectiveness and loyalty of the police in restive areas of the country the president said the government was forming special police units and reshuffling the leadership of several local police forces.

May 06, Colombo: An ally of Sri Lanka’s governing party, the National Freedom Front (NFF) has unanimously adopted several proposals at its second national convention to submit to the government in order to continue with its support.

The party held its second national convention at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium Monday evening under the theme “Defeating fatal traps against the Motherland”.

The NFF will present the 12 proposals for reforms to the President and the United People’s Freedom Alliance government, the party decided at the annual convention held.

The party vowed to abandon the Government if the proposals for reforms were disregarded by the government.

NFF Leader, Minister Wimal Weerawansa addressing the convention said although Sri Lanka defeated the terrorism the government has miserably failed to take measures to defeat separatism and racism.

He said his party does not want to put on a false display of unity while being in the governing party and the NFF would issue a red notice to the government.

The party requested the government to swift actions against any organizations that seek to disrupt the peaceful coexistence and harmony among the people from different communities in the country. According to Weerawansa, extensive dialogues will be held with regard to the correct direction in which the country should move.

“Priyanka Gandhi had accused Modi of stooping to ‘neechee rajiniti’ but on Tuesday in his speeches in the election meeting he distorted it and presented before people of being targeted by Congress because he belongs to neechee jati. I was expecting Congress to react and put things in right perspective but the party seems to have surrendered knowing that it is losing elections. SP which claims itself to be representative of backward classes has also not reacted for the reasons unknown. So, I took the responsibility to make people aware of how Modi is taking them for a ride by playing backward caste card and dirty politics (ghinauni rajniti),” said Mayawati in a scathing attack on BJP’s PM nominee at a press conference here.

Mayawati said that her feedback is that there is no Modi wave and BJP is losing in UP. As a result, in desperation, Modi is distorting facts and playing caste cards for electoral gains in the last two phases of the Lok Sabha elections in UP, he added. “Modi has been saying that he belongs to backward caste and is being targeted for it. I had asked earlier also and now demanding again that Modi should tell people to which caste he belongs. Is he a Barber, Pal, Kushwaha, Rajbhar, Lonia-Chauhan? Or, he is not an OBC at all,” She questioned.”

Two unarmed traffic constables attached to Kurunegala police station were abducted, while they were on duty, by unidentified armed men, who arrived in a white van in the early hours of yesterday at Barawedapola junction in the Kurunegala town and one of them was shot dead about two kilometres away near a jungle.

The deceased had received two gun shot injuries to his back. He was lying fully naked on the ground. The abductors had stripped them naked.

The other constable had survived by hanging on to the T-56 assault rifle that shot dead his fellow constable and pulling out its magazine.

After killing the one constable, the abductors targeted the escaped constable who was at the time in the vehicle fully naked in a state of shock. He lunged at the T-56 assault rifle and had escaped from the assailants grabbing its magazine into the wood in the dark.

Addressing a media briefing over the shocking incident police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that the deceased, Chandana Sampath Bandara (42) of Aragama, Gokarella and escapee, Ajith Weerasooriya (37) of Dewagiripura, Galgamuwa had been deployed by the Kurunegala police for traffic duty in the town from 10.00 p.m. the previous day until yesterday morning and they were abducted when they attempted to check a vehicle around 1.00 a.m.

One million rupee reward would be given to the provider of correct information leading to the arrest of the assailants, he said. The public are requested use the mobile phone number 077-4784648 to provide any information.

The SSP said a high level investigation had already been started by the Criminal Investigation Department on the instructions of Inspector General of Police, N. K. Illangakoon.

The SSP said: “CID Director, too, has gone to Kurunegala with a team to investigate the incident. The deceased Chandana was father of two children, 13-year-old daughter, Saduni Navodya Yapa and ten-year-old son, Samidu Umanda Yapa. He had won 53 rewards for his skills at Minneriya, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Iginiyagala, Vavuniya, Chilaw, Mundalama, Mannar and Kurunegala police stations during his 22 year-service after joining the Police Department on March 5, 1992. He had won a reward from the IGP as well. His wife Udeni Anoma Rathnayaka identified the body. Constable Weerasooriya is being treated at the Kurunegala hospital.”

Sri Lanka security forces launch joint investigation after T56 weapon with ammunition found on beach

    ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

May 06, Colombo: The Sri Lanka Army, Navy and the Police have launched an extensive search in the general area of Ichchilampattai, Trincomalee after the recovery of a T56 weapon with several rounds of ammunition in a bag at Lanka Patuna beach near a Naval detachment on Monday (5 May).

Military Spokesman Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasooriya said the Sri Lanka Army and the Navy along with the Police have launched an investigation including a search to apprehend the suspects in relation to the recovery of the weapon.

According to preliminary investigations around 5:30 p.m. on Monday a senior sailor from the Navy camp located a few hundred meters away from the incident while jogging along the beach had seen two young males carrying something wrapped in a fertilizer bag.

The two individuals had acted strange carrying the suspicious looking parcel and when the sailor had approached them the suspects had escaped leaving the parcel containing the T56 and the ammunition on the beach.

A joint Army, Navy and Police investigation and search is underway and so far no arrests have been made, the military spokesman’s statement said.

Sri Lanka’s military authorities say there is a renewed attempt to revive the defeated Tamil Tiger terrorist organization Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in the North and investigations into the activities of former LTTE operatives have resulted in several arrests which in turn have led to recovery of arms, ammunitions, explosives and other material that were in their possession.

The government on April 01 banned the LTTE and 15 other Tamil diaspora groups that are alleged of having terror links and involved in reviving the terrorist movement in the country.

SL does not need to IMPORT workers; SL should retain its own workers who are going abroad for better jobs, by TRAINING them and SUPPORTING them with capital equipment and services that makes them MORE PRODUCTIVE.
Then, they can earn a higher wage in a more interesting and rewarding job, live in and serve their own country among their loved ones, eat their favorite foods, enjoy their own culture and an overall higher quality of life.

A country needs more workers only if:

    1. it has the living space to accommodate them, AND
    2. it has the means to employ them in jobs comparable to the ones its own citizens are fleeing abroad to get.

It makes no sense WHATEVER to drive one’s own citizens abroad to get a decent job, and then turnaround and say we should IMPORT foreign workers to fill their shoes in Sri Lanka! That will only lead to the COMPLETE ABANDONMENT & ALIENATION of Sri Lanka in the fullness of time.

    Ananda,

I’m talking about a situation where close to 2 million SL Hindus are going back to Endia for good. We only have to IMPORT people to COVER for this loss of population. NOT more. Otherwise some industries will collapse.

SL tried to send millions of ILLEGALS back to Endia in 1960s and 1970s. But it didn’t work. Endia refused to take in ANY of its people. IF we agree to share the burden then Endia might agree. We can REPLACE DRAVIDISTAN trouble makers with more ACCOMODATIVE people. NO GAIN or LOSS of population.

Absolutely NO NET IMPORT of ANYONE to SL. Even our own people have no jobs. How can we have MORE? NO WAY!

  38. Ananda-USA Says:

    Lorenzo,

There is no need to go to the trouble of swapping known “bad” people with assumed “good” people, because even if there is no net gain in people, the expected gain in the MINDSET of people who are imported is UNCERTAIN.

In short, better the devil we know than the angel we don’t. Let us CONTROL the behavior of the devils we know and give them every INCENTIVE to either CHANGE THEIR BEHAVIOR and become good citizens, or DEPART the COUNTRY for good to wherever they can be happier.

Let those industries that cannot survive by attracting and training our own citizens COLLAPSE & DIE because in the FINAL ANALYSIS the purpose of any industry or business is to enable the CITIZENS of the country to SURVIVE and THRIVE in their own land; not to drive them out and replace them with foreigners for the sake of SHORT-TERM PROFIT for current business owners.

Every Government must regulate activity within the country for outcomes that are desirable and beneficial to the citizens of the country IN THE LONG RUN.

If those businesses cannot ADAPT to the situation through INNOVATION exploiting TECHNOLOGICAL and MANAGEMENT advances, they should not survive: they are dinosaurs that should become extinct.

Whatever the circumstances, IMPORTING foreign workers IS NOT THE ANSWER. We must LEARN & ADAPT to do our own work ourselves and PROFIT & THRIVE in the process as a people and a society; not just as an elite exploiting the poor.

In an earlier post, I described how my own family solved the shortage of tea pickers in our family tea estate through technological innovation and crop diversification. If we were unable to adapt in that way, that estate would not have survived; nor should it have. Under no circumstances would we have imported foreigners to replace our own people. Instead, we would replaced the tea growing business with another venture, just as we had replaced rubber in that land with tea about 50 years earlier, because rubber was much less profitable.

We should recall that it was precisely the focus solely on profit to the owners, without regard to the survival of the vast majority of citizens at large, by the British Colonialists that brought in millions of Indian Tamils to tend first to the Coffee plantations, and then to the Tea plantations in the Hill Country. That was done over the strenuous objections of the conquered and dispossessed Sinhala people of the country by foreign overlords. As a sovereign people now, let us not repeat that mistake to the detriment of future generations of our people.

  39. Lorenzo Says:

While I continue to pay my Kudos to SDW for this brilliant piece, I loved reading your spill-over relevant exchange…truly great points from both ends and I wish some of our so called decision-making-politicos in SL had 1/2 the smarts you guys are displaying and dispensing here (i.e. to me this is not a case of “win or lose” arguments, but showing the smarts to think-far, think-shrewdly, think-holistically, think-historically-but-progressively, where we should use surgically extracted, shrewdly calculated DISCRETION to our survival and national advantage, and do so outright selfishly and without qualms I say).

Ananda, the piece you wrote herein… “the British Colonialists that brought in millions of Indian Tamils to tend first to the Coffee plantations, and then to the Tea plantations in the Hill Country. That was done over the strenuous objections of the conquered and dispossessed Sinhala people of the country by foreign overlords. As a sovereign people now, let us not repeat that mistake to the detriment of future generations of our people.”….I do fully fully agree with.

However, do many of us remember that the current so called “Jaffna Tamil” Tamil population in SL is largely a result of the slave-like-indentured labor, running into 100’s of thousands men and women and children that the Dutch imported from TamilNadu, over a period spanning nearly 150 years during their occupation of Sri Lanka’s coastal areas during the 1600-1700’s, to work in their Dutch-obsessed, Dutch-created, Tobacco plantations in Jaffna? Only now serious questions are being asked by historians as to the true size of the population of Jaffna prior to that en-mass landing of those illegal alien chunks!

And do many of us consider that this “Tamil homeland” concept (which was never there in ancient times; all what the Dravidian invaders wanted was to establish camps in northern SL to assist with their ferocious plunder of the island as their home land was TamilNadu, just 20 nautical miles away) likely came to have any hope of life only after that rapidly escalating uncontested, unprotested, and unknown too (unlike in the case of “up-country” dumping case by the British as you say) mass illegal dumping of aliens into Sri Lanka’s northern areas?

The Moral of the story (in my view): While we may argue the pros-and-cons about immigration to SL from India in an official sense and we stick to a judicious position to look after our interests, we cannot ever let a repeat of what the Dutch did to us, meaning in today’s context, we cannot let this slimy Wigneswaran-TNA cabal demand and be granted land, police, and maritime powers in the northern province – as that is a recipe for a repeat of what the Dutch did to us, except this time it will be with murderous, calamitous proportions and consequences.

As my dear friend Moshe used to say, time is now past for mass re-colonization of our lost lands in the northern province (lost due to unopposed, poisonous “we-Tamils” violent racism) and resettlement of ALL ethnic groups there – as we see today in the rest of Sri Lanka and as we saw there too, before LTTE terrorists’ ethnic cleansing horrors there over 25 years.

Is the Kremlin rallying Russians for a new ‘USSR-lite’?

At Victory Day military parades in Moscow and newly annexed Crimea, Putin gave further hints of a new Russian doctrine that combines Soviet nostalgia with ethnic Russian themes

By Fred Weir, 2 hours ago
    Christian Science Monitor

Victory Day, Russia’s annual homage to the 27 million Soviet citizens who died in the colossal struggle to defeat Nazi Germany, has always been more than a day of remembrance.

Both Soviet and Russian leaders have sought to enhance their own legitimacy by bathing in the reflected light of that triumph, and blatantly used the annual parade of tanks, troops, and intercontinental missiles to advertise continuing military prowess.

But there were some fresh notes this year that suggest the Kremlin may be recasting Soviet nostalgia and a sense of Russian superiority into a new doctrine: one that would gather ethnic Russians and other former Soviet “compatriots” into a new Moscow-dominated empire that will once again challenge the West.

This idea, combined a renewed taste for military expansionism that was test-driven in Crimea, may spell more trouble in future.

RECOMMENDED: Sochi, Soviets, and tsars: How much do you know about Russia?

“This new Russian nationalism is being blended mostly out of Soviet revivalism, and the feelings of nostalgia for the times when the USSR was an empire that ruled big parts of the world,” says Nikolai Svanidze, a famous Russian TV personality in the same vein as Bill Moyers. “The taking of Crimea is perceived, and presented, as a step toward the restoration of the USSR. Even if it’s a kind of USSR-lite, it’s being used to stir public moods, and it’s dangerous.”

President Vladimir Putin made no direct reference to Ukraine or Russia’s annexation of Crimea in his brief Red Square address today, nor was there any sign of the former USSR’s communist ideology. But the subtext was all about the ongoing virtues of patriotism, national determination, and the need to stand up to external threats. Then he sent a more explicit message by flying to Crimea, where he was greeted by rapturous crowds and presided over a massive display of Russian naval and aviation might.

In his speech after signing the treaty to join Crimea with Russia, Mr. Putin spoke evocatively of Russia’s humiliation at being treated like a vanquished country after the cold war ended, and of his anger at how the West exploited Russia’s weakness to expand NATO eastward into former Soviet territory. The final straw, he said, was US and European encouragement of a street revolt in Kiev that brought a pro-Western government to power that did not represent the interests of millions of Russians and compatriots in Ukraine’s east.

“Russia found itself in a position it could not retreat from. If you compress a spring all the way to its limit, it will snap back hard,” Putin said.

That kind of talk clearly works with Russia’s public. Putin’s popularity ratings have soared since the Ukraine crisis began, especially after the annexation of Crimea. A late April survey by the independent Levada Center found a near-record 82 percent of Russians approved of Putin’s job performance.

Russian media commentators have consistently claimed that the pro-Western interim government in Kiev is dominated by fascists, making the clear suggestion that Moscow’s pushback against the new Ukrainian regime is in some way a continuation of the Soviet Union’s war against Nazi Germany. The same thought seemed to lurk between the lines of Putin’s Victory Day speech as well.

“Here and there militant nationalism is again raising its head, the same kind that brought on the appearance of Nazi ideology,” Putin told a Kremlin meeting earlier this week.

    TURNING RACIAL?

But experts say it’s Putin’s emphasis on defending the interests of ethnic Russians living in Ukraine – and potentially other former Soviet lands – that’s changing the political conversation in Russia.

In the ex-USSR, the term “Soviet citizen” was employed to obscure ethnic and national differences, in keeping with the “internationalist” stance of Communist authorities. Former Russian President Boris Yeltsin invented the term “Rusyanin,” meaning a citizen of Russia, to avoid using the word “Russky” which applies to ethnic Russians.

But, as the crisis in Ukraine grew, official rhetoric has talked more about defending ethnic Russians, now trapped in foreign countries as a result of the Soviet breakup – and threatened with discrimination or worse from non-Russian authorities.

“Official nationalism hasn’t changed, but in the mass media it’s becoming more about race. When they speak of nationality now, they mean ethnicity,” says Alexander Verhkovsky, director of the independent Sova Center in Moscow, which tracks extremist movements.

That could hold future implications for several former Soviet republics, such as Kazakhstan and Moldova as well as Ukraine, where substantial pockets of Russians live.

“What has really changed is the idea of expansionism has appeared in our authorities’ discourse. Never before was it said that Russia has a mission to restore some parts of the lost empire. Now we’ve actually done that, in Crimea,” says Mr. Verkhovsky.

But he adds that the changes are tactical, and that he doesn’t believe Putin is trying to create a full-fledged neo-Soviet ideology.

Nikolai Petrov, a professor at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, agrees. “An ideology needs to be oriented toward the future. But what we’re seeing is many incoherent elements, mostly celebrations of historical triumphs and appeals for people to work together as they did in the war. But restoring the glorious past is hardly a plan,” he says.

The following article (which appeared today) almost exactly duplicates and largely supports the comments I made previously (see above) on Valdirmir Putin’s drive to resurrect his Mother Russia.

The Lord Budha said that if you sit on a branch too weak to support your weight, and the branch breaks and you fall to the ground, it is the FAULT of the person who sat on the weak branch. The US and its allies PUSHED Russia into a Corner and engineered a coup-de-etat in Kiev in Ukraine eliciting a Russian engineered “Ukrainian Spring” in retaliation from a Russia threatened to the core.

Whose FAULT is it? CLEARLY the fault is that of the US and its allies pursuing GLOBAL HEGEMONY through “Arab Spring” and like devious strategies.

That ploy BACKFIRED BIGTIME in the Ukraine!

Is the Kremlin rallying Russians for a new ‘USSR-lite’?

At Victory Day military parades in Moscow and newly annexed Crimea, Putin gave further hints of a new Russian doctrine that combines Soviet nostalgia with ethnic Russian themes
