  1. Nimal Says:

British colonialism did great for our country who subjugated the innocent people with much cruelty by our tyrannical leaders of the past. Our leaders then saw the progress and freedom, social order that was enjoyed elsewhere and invited them with the Kandyan convention which clearly says that everyone is equal under the law. Some who got involved in 1815 wanted to get hold of the reins and continue the practices of the tyrannical king, resulting in the rebellions in 1822 and 1848 which the people were not supportive.
From the time of the colonial rule we the humble people had the first public toilets, roads, the perharas, the wesaks, schools, court houses, civil service, the Parliament without criminals participating qand above all people were honest.
We want the colonial types back but not warmongers who want to establish bases.Don’t forget rock ‘n roll.We must come out of our balu culture and learn to think out of the box.
