Dear Ms. Parke,

I emailed you my comments on this issue separately but cannot help but make some observations on your reply to Badra.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Your statement (in italics below) is nothing more than saying ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”you have been naughty little boys and girls’ to the LTTE and stabbing the Sri Lanka Govt. in the back. If you were genuine about the plight in Sri Lanka you would have taken necessary measures to get your PM to do whatever he can to support the humanitarian work and not waste everyone’s time by putting forward, what amounts to be a censure motion on Sri Lanka. You may deny this fact but that’s what the world out there thinks about the motion tabled by you.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Ms. Parke, don’t you find it rather ironic that it was the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”undemocratic’ nations and nations belonging to the so called ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”axis of evil’ who stood by and supported Sri Lanka in her hour of darkness fighting terrorism while the representatives of the western democracies like Clinton, Miliband, Krouchner (and a few clowns from Germany, Norway, Austria) did their utmost to strangle a Government elected by popular vote by the people (of all ethnicities) Sri Lanka?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is a pity that you felt that you had to emulate the western counterparts but the message you have successfully given out to all terrorists including the LTTE and Al Qaida is that as long as they can secure the votes for your party you will tolerate them and let them kill democracies elsewhere in the world. Honestly, my personal opinion is that the ALP has lost the plot which very disappointing since I voted for the ALP at the last election.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I hope that the LTTE and the Tamil Tiger sympathizers in this country will help ALP win the next election especially seeing high price you have paid – ie selling Australian democracy, to keep this group of people happy.

Best regards,

G. de Silva

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ PS. I took the liberty to copy this email to Don Randall, MP for Canning, who had the guts to speak out against a terrorist group and speak on behalf of the democratically elected Government of Sri Lanka.
