I write to disclaim authorship of the article on Sri Lankan History which appears on number of  web sites – including SPUR – indicating me as the author.

This article first appeared on e mails as far as I recall in April – early May . It was doing the rounds and I recall forwarding it to some on my mailing list too.

Somewhat later,   I realised through comments reaching me ( often of a highly positive nature! ) that authorship was supposedly mine.

I immediately and repeatedly dislcaimed authorship. Please see http://manouris.wordpress.com

Very sincerely I do not know who the author is – or if it is the work of a Ghost Author….???

I understand from some who have seen the article that it was around even prior to the time period I mentioned above.

Let me reiterate that I AM NOT THE AUTHOR of this article & my interest / expertise  in history is limited to medical history.

I have neither the time, inclination or expertise to delve so deep into the history of my country.

I would be grateful if you could make my position very clear on your web site -
