Sri Lankan beauty queen Jacqueline Fernandez is playing a lead role in the Bollywood production Aladin co starred by such movie giants like Amitah Batchan , Sanjay Dutt and Ritish Deshmuk.

The film, in which the Sri Lankan beauty is making her debut, is expected to be released soon all over India.

Based on the well known Arabian Nights fable of Aladin and his wonderful lamp Jaqueline who became the Sri Lankan beauty queen in 2006 is playing the role of Jasmine. Ritish Deshmuk is playing Aladin while Amitahb Bachchan plays the genie.

Indian critics have called Jacqueline Fernandez as the most exotic import Bollywood ever had. So one wrote, “it is time for the red carpet to be laid out.”

Aladin producers were very protective of Jacqueline during last year when the film was in production fearing over exposure. Director Sujoy Gosh said, “it was felt that her being “ƒ”¹…”exposed’ to millions out there so soon would have resulted in an over exposure.”

Gosh further said, “”Since Jacqueline is one of the four major protagonists of the film, other than Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Ritish Deshmukh, she has always been someone special. Now is the time for her to reach out to the world and I am sure Bollywood followers out there would be stunned with what they see of her.”

On her debut appearance in the film Jacqueline was quoted having said, “Playing Jasmine was all fun and frolic with just the right ingredients of quintessential Bollywood routine and countless romantic and dramatic moments. It couldn’t have been a better start.”

Jacqueline became a better communicator when she equipped her self with a degree from Sydney Australia on communications. She also took lessons in acting and speaking Hindi to take up the role. She once said, “Being independent and accomplished was imperative to me and I always demanded the best of myself. Perfectionism is my strongest asset.”

About the opportunity she got to work with icons like Bachchan and Dutt she says, “The way Ritish’s character is fleshed out in the movie, it was all rather cute. However, nothing can beat the excitement of working with Mr. Bachchan and Mr. Dutt. In a way, they were just the antithesis of Ritish. I couldn’t have been luckier.”

Speaking about the movie based on the Arabian Nights fable about a magical lamp she said, “I’m really excited about working on it because it will be the first of its kind in Bollywood. The special effects will be done by the same people who worked on some of the Harry Potter, Matrix and Spiderman movies.”
